The Day Stephen Harper Was Called an Idiot by Tom Mulcair

Ever since he came to power Stephen Harper has made a mockery out of our parliament.

He has used it as a bully pulpit, he has cut off debates, he never answers questions, he lies all the time. He has turned it into a bad joke, or a fascist circus.

But yesterday when he was asked about the legality of his new war in Syria, and he turned his answer into a joke.

He got put in his place by Tom Mulcair...

In magnificent manner, and rightly so.

Because what kind of Prime Minister would make a joke about war and international law?

But then Harper is desperate and he is going crazy. He needs to keep scaring people if he's going to win another bloody majority.

Keep them thinking of nothing but war and living in fear...

Because the last thing Great Warrior Closet Leader needs is for the Terrorist Fear Factor to fade.

And for Canadians to be scared instead by the terrifying state of the sagging economy.

The war is ramping up. The economy continues to sag. Prime Minister Stephen Harper’s Conservatives hope to ride to electoral victory this fall on the first of these, the war against Islamic State militants in the Middle East. But the stagnating Canadian economy could confound them.

Because it couldn't be more DISASTROUS.

His job creation program is setting new records for incompetence, the loonie is diving. The manufacturing sector is still dead.

The party in Alberta is OVER...

He put all our eggs in one oily basket...

And ended up with egg all over his face.

Voters will blame him:

Voters don’t usually blame the opposition when the economy goes sour. They blame the government. No wonder then that Harper wants to keep public attention focused on his war against the Islamic State. No wonder that Finance Minister Joe Oliver keeps postponing his budget. For the Conservatives, this is not a happy time to discuss the economy.

And since there is nothing that can deflate a Great Warrior Leader faster than being portrayed as a Great Economic Buffoon.

Mulcair was right, Great Leader is a dangerous idiot...

The writing is on the wall.

The Joker will become the joke.

The economy not the war will be the big issue.

And it will take him down...

Nicely done Tom, but the response of Mr Speaker clearly is in favour of his puppet master who did not call out harper's pathetic joke about what he tries to tell us is deadly serious. I don't get the sudden shift to now call this group ISIL, was it not ISIS a few weeks ago? This was so painful to watch but at least the opposition is not letting them off the hook, but somewhat futile when the cards are so stacked against any opposition to this band of idiots.

Idiocy indeed. I don't know how anyone can stomach more than a minute of Harper spewing lies and his seals clapping and laughing like deranged inbreeds. It does clearly show just how much contempt they have for the HOC and in so doing the contempt they show for all things democratic.
On a brighter note, it's nice to see Harper's sunken, sickly looking eyes are getting worse. I'd say he, like his party, is rotting from the inside out.

it was ISIS, it is ISIS. It is just in retrospect it was too blatant to use that word. (ISisRaEl)

Unfortunately, idiocy is also what we can say about most of the Cons supporters who are still supporting Harper.

Mulcair's question was a very legitimate one as it is unclear if Article 51 can be used to justify our bombing in Syria. Only two countries, the U.S. and Israel, have tried to use Article 51 to justify their aggressive military actions (the U.S, at least did inform the U.N. about its intended use of this Article in regard to Syria).. Canada will be the third country to do this (i.e., use controversial Article 51).

Ironic that the guy who seemed so hawkish and so brave about sending other people's children into war should himself head for the closet the minute the bullets started flying.

When in actual fact - Harper is wrong - ISIS will determine that Canada's acts are illegal and will take the law into their own hands. Terrorists don't use lawyers, they use terror. Harper's joke is so mis-guided; as are the Harper Conservatives.

Um ya Simon Harper Cons are desperately grasping at straws on a sinking ship. I can't wait till they drown Canadians over 80% hate them hate them enough to well you know...

Get rid of all of them at the polls and leave the Harper Mackay con clown show in tatters.

Cheers,

hi bcwaterboy...yes, I'm afraid the Con Speaker only leans one way like the Tower of Pisa. And the Cons get away with murder all the time. And yes the Cons insist on calling it ISIL I suppose because it now includes more than Syria. But that's where they came from, so I'm still calling them that...

hi anon...yes it's a disgusting spectacle, as is this whole War Show he is putting on. It couldn't be crasser or more obvious. But you're right, his desperation is showing, and that can only be a good sign...

hi anon...yes there are still a few idiots who are still scared, and can't see what he is trying to do. But polls show the fear factor is fading, and as it does more and more Canadians will look at the state of the economy, and that should finish him off. And as you point out, the whole idea of Harper being a Great Strong Leader couldn't be more absurd....

hi anon...I am very much in favour of killing as many ISIS crazies as we possibly can. But as Mulcair pointed out, international laws all we got standing between civilization and the jungle. And Harper's "joke" was simply pathetic...

hi Mogs...they are clinging to one slender straw, it's a sign of weakness not strength, and it will not be enough to keep them afloat. If it wasn't so tragic it would be laughable....

Way to go Tom,Harper already knows what questions are to be asked in Question Period, he will not have that advantage in the debates,we will see how well he does there I am thinking,a huge advantage for Tom Mulcair.
