Well we all knew Michelle Rempel was desperate, and I mean desperate to become the interim leader of the shattered and shell shocked Cons.
Her late night boozy woozy Twitter monologues have made that only too clear.
But who knew she was so desperate that she'd enter into a bizarre political marriage of convenience with of all people Denis Lebel?
Well as you can probably imagine, Stephen Harper is having a very miserable Halloween.
After seeing his plans for Total World Domination, turn into a pumpkin.
And his plans to buy the election fail so disastrously...
And I'm pretty sure you won't see any young Canadians going trick or treating dressed like this...
I can only imagine how Stephen Harper must be feeling, as he looks down on the smouldering ruins of his beloved Harperland.
Once he towered over it, and crushed all who opposed him.
One moment he was in total control.
And the next moment he wasn't...
Dan Murphy
And what must make it even worse, make it feel even more like the fall of Rome, is the knowledge that in the end even his faithful stooge Jason Kenney did betray him.
He is said to be boiling with anger, lashing out in every direction, and he is crazy desperate.
So you know Stephen Harper and his Con gangsters will try to steal the election.
For what can you say about a leader whose former PMO lawyer believes he has lost the moral authority to govern?
They say a good political cartoon can be worth a thousand words.
So now that we know that Stephen Harper is in a foul mood, and snapping at all those around him.
Because just the thought of being humiliated by Justin Trudeau is driving him CRAAAAZY.
I really like the way these two cartoons work together.
With quite possibly only five days left in his sordid reign, let it it not be said that Stephen Harper is going out with even a hint of dignity and class.
For there he was again yesterday, tieless, his sleeves rolled up, his belly sticking out, watching a pizza guy throw cash on a table, and getting an endorsement from the Ford brothers.
To the tune of ka-ching ka-ching ka-ching.
The would be King of Canada going out as a sleazy game show host.
Stephen Harper has always been a stealthy but vicious enemy of the LGBT community.
He has voted against every bill or measure designed to protect their human rights.
He believes that being gay is just a choice.
And now I see one of his candidates is following in his master's ghastly footsteps.
And advocating the torture of gay children.
I think I can safely say that in all my life I have never seen a person lie so often and so blatantly as does Stephen Harper.
For years he claimed that the NDP had a "job killing carbon tax" even though they didn't.
He seems to have no shame. He can't help himself.
Now in his latest attack ads aimed at Justin Trudeau he is once again blatantly strangling the truth.
So I thought I would run both those ads, and see if you can spot the Big Lies...
Well we've always known that Stephen Harper has a long list of enemies, real or imagined.
And we also know that he will do or say anything to pander to the right-wing Jewish vote.
But this combination couldn't be more disgusting.
On the night Stephen Harper won his monstrous majority, I ended my very short post by playing the song from the movie Cabaret, of the young Nazi in the beer garden singing Tomorrow Belongs to Me.
For which I was roundly criticized by some of the stuffy poobahs in the blogosphere.
"Don't you know that's Godwin's law?" they screamed. "It's verboten !!! It's Harper Derangement Syndrome !!!!"
But now I feel I have been vindicated. Because this is fascism...
Tonight Stephen Harper will take part in the Munk Debate on foreign policy, along with the other leaders.
And if there is any justice it should be a trial of his insane foreign policy.
And the way he has shamed us in the eyes of the world.
For as this leaked report reveals, the damage couldn't be more devastating.
It's now been five years since the ghastly Tony Clement announced that the Cons were killing the long form census.
Claiming that it was a gross invasion of privacy, and that they had been "flooded" with complaints.
Which like all things Con turned out to be just another Big Lie.
The Conservative government listened to only a relative handful of Canadians — including conspiracy theorists afraid the government was going to round them up — before scrapping the mandatory long-form census, according to documents obtained by the Toronto Star.
There were just a handful of complaints, many of them from the usual suspects.
And the decision to kill it was made by one of the screaming voices in Stephen Harper's head.
Dear Wayne
I have to admit I that you were never my hockey hero, because I've always been a huge Habs fan. You know, the loser team with the glorious past, the one only the Leafs can make look good.
And we needed to play you like we needed a hole in the head, or a yet another puck in the back of our net.
But you were a great hockey player, and it was a pleasure to watch you play OTHER teams. And of course, score for Team Canada.
So I'm very sorry to see you destroy your legacy by endorsing a man like Stephen Harper.
Well there was Stephen Harper yesterday, trying to show he's really a nice guy, by releasing a lobster over the side of a fishing boat.
But of course for the real story of that photo-op, you'd have to read this account of that media nightmare.
To understand that in Harperland nothing is what it seems to be.
And that his phoney Mr Nice Guy act didn't last long either.
Because now he's back to peddling the politics of fear.
If Stephen Harper thought he could get away with punishing the scientist Tony Turner for daring to write and and sing the song Harperman, he must be sorry now.
For as I said yesterday it is an outrageous assault on freedom of expression.
And as I predicted it has only made the song even more popular.
The economy is teetering on the edge of disaster. The stock market is on a wild roller coaster ride. The loonie or Harper peso has fallen to its lowest level in eleven years. Thousands are losing their jobs.
But Joe Oliver, the alleged Con FInance Minister, is nowhere to be seen.
He has held no newsers, issued no reassuring statements to worried Canadians. He has been missing in action.
And it seems the only Canadians he's willing to talk to are the rich old guys at private men's clubs.
Gawd. If Stephen Harper wasn't such a monster you'd almost have to feel sorry for him.
He just can't do ANYTHING right these days, and his massive propaganda machine just keeps making him look like an absolute IDIOT.
Just the other day they ran the wrong picture of a couple to promote adoption in Canada...
And now in an ad to promote BC's salmon fishery they've done it again.
We've all seen this absurd clip in that ghastly Con attack ad at least a thousand times. For there is no escaping it.
And if you're like me you have no doubt wondered what it has to do with Justin Trudeau's qualifications to be Prime Minister.
And whether it's just another hideous attempt to undermine Justin's masculinity.
But who could imagine that the distinguished writer Margaret Atwood could write a column about that hairy question, and be censored by the National Post?
By now most people have seen the video of that angry old Con attacking reporters for asking questions about the Duffy trial.
And it has become a popular internet meme.
Chris Sigurdson.
But if you thought that Stephen Harper might be smiling, or in his case opening his mouth and showing his teeth, at that show of support from a member of his Con base, you'd be wrong.
Because there was another angry old guy at that rally, and he's Harper's nightmare.
When Stephen Harper decided to launch the election campaign into the midsummer storm of the Duffy trial, he must have thought he could get away with it.
His criminal mind must have hoped that the campaign would distract Canadians, and limit the damage to him and his Cons.
But as even John Ivison points out, with every passing day that decision is looking more and more disastrous.
