I knew that Andrew Scheer would absolutely hate the Throne Speech, because it never mentioned the holy words "ALBERTA, SASKATCHEWAN, OIL, and PIPELINES.
But did promise that the Trudeau government would step up the fight against climate change, which Scheer doesn't believe in.
And I knew that he needed to make as much noise as possible to remind Canadians that he's still the Con leader, or still had a pulse.
But this is ridiculous.
In my last post I looked at the sad case of Michelle Rempel, and what her new American husband thinks of Canada.
Which isn't very nice, but Rempel still thinks is hilarious.
So I thought I'd share what some Canadians think of her and her husband.
As you may know, I'm not a member of the Michelle Rempel fan club.
I consider her one of the most aggressive members of the Con cult. She's always making wild accusations, and complaining that Alberta is getting screwed by the rest of Canada.
She insults the Prime Minister all the time in the most vulgar manner.
Her YouTube channel is a real horror show.
As the Great Polar Bear God of the Great White North knows, I did everything I could this weekend to try to escape the fake scandal.
I went over to the island and finished painting my friend's sailboat. I read a lot of stuff but nothing about Canadian politics. I hung out with some friends and watched soccer games on TV. I took long naps and dreamed of the day Spring finally looks and feels like Spring.
But it was no good.
Because when I finally did take a quick glance at the news there he was.
It's now been two years since Alexandre Bissonnette walked into a mosque in Quebec City and opened fire.
He killed six people, and wounded five others, as 35 other worshippers including several children looked on in horror.
The next day Bissonnette told police he had attacked the mosque, because he was worried refugees would come to Quebec and kill his family.
And later we found out that his views on Muslims were heavily influenced by the far right in Canada and the United States.
And that he worshipped Donald Trump.
In my last post I looked at how Lisa Raitt had finally managed to provoke Justin Trudeau into losing his temper, and letting the Cons know how he felt about the way they were turning our parliament into sewer.
And the way Andrew Scheer's perverted Harperite cult was using a murdered child to try to smear him.
In his moment of anger Trudeau called them "ambulance-chasers."
And in that regard yesterday there was a sensational development, both pathetic and hilarious.
For some reason I remember that cartoon well, even though it was published in January 2017, when Chrystia Freeland had just replaced Stephane Dion as Minister of Foreign Affairs.
And Canadians wondered how she would do when pitted against the King Kong in the White House.
And the answer came in yesterday.
It's the kind of thing that can ruin your evening. You come home, you turn on the TV, and there's Michelle Rempel, the new take no prisoners/ don't f**k with me Rempel, auditioning for the part of Canada's Marine Le Pen.
It doesn't get much worse than that.
But Rempel's performance yesterday was actually quite entertaining, when she suddenly announced that the Cons had a new immigration plan.
Only to derail her own launch by going after Maxime Bernier.
But then who can blame her?
Mad Max is on a rampage.
As you can imagine, Andrew Scheer is looking a little beleaguered. Like a man on the edge of a cliff, or a nervous breakdown.
But then who can blame him? His big shiny Con convention is now less than a week away, and it's all going horribly wrong.
Maxime Bernier is making him look like a wimp. He just won't shut up.
Scheer is too cowardly to fire him.
And now to make matters even worse, it looks a lot like the Con clown Michelle Rempel may have finally gone over the deep end.
A few days ago I wrote a post accusing Michelle Rempel of whipping up hatred against asylum seekers for crass political purposes.
And of being totally out of control.
So I'm glad to see that even some of her colleagues now share that view.
Especially the hapless Con clown Erin O'Toole.
Michelle Rempel likes to pose as the political equivalent of Little Miss Muffet. A tiny shining light of decency in a world full of nasty scary spiders.
Liberal spiders who are always attacking her, or discreetly suggesting she's a drunk. And Con spiders who won't recognize her "greatness" or make her their leader.
And while I don't expect that to change, since she does like to scream about EVERYTHING.
She can forget about the decency part.
The years since her beloved sugar daddy Stephen Harper left her, have not been kind to Michelle Rempel.
Once she was a rising star, now not so much.
Once the old men in the Con media used to fall over themselves trying to impress her. Now she has to work really hard to try to impress them.
But this is both ridiculous and dangerous.
It was already a horrible tragedy, an act of insane violence or murderous misogyny.
The alleged attacker had posted praise for a mass murderer in the United States who was part of the “incel” movement – a women-hating collection of “involuntarily celibate” men in online forums and other sites frustrated by their lack of success sexually attracting women.
It couldn't be more disturbing.
Or Just plain creepy.
But somehow Andrew Scheer and his alt-right Cons managed to make matters even more disgusting.
We don't hear much from Michelle Rempel these days. Ever since her political sugar daddy Stephen Harper faded to black, or blue, her paint has been peeling off too.
And she's not happy.
Once she was a rising star, or at least that's what the Con media said. And she was in the news all the time
But these days she gets very little face time in Question Period.
And her Twitter feed is a shadow of what it once was, mostly because she has blocked so many Canadians from reading it.
For weeks the creepy Con Andrew Scheer has been tap dancing across Canada trying to convince Canadians that he's really a nice guy.
Or as he likes to call himself Mr Positivity.
After stabbing his country in the back in the manner of a traitor...
But Scheer's Mr Nice Guy act was always going to be just a shabby show.
There is nothing nice or decent about that sinister religious fanatic, and now The Creeper is back to doing what he does best.
It wasn't long ago that I told you that Andrew Scheer and his grubby Cons had dropped the Omar Khadr story like a hot potato.
Or a poisonous snake.
After spending days trashing our country in the United States for crass political purposes.
And now we know why.
The other day I accused Stephen Harper of acting in a treasonous manner, by trashing his country in Trump's America for crass political purposes.
But now his filthy Harper Party has taken that traitorous behaviour one foul step further.
By threatening to destroy tens of thousands of Canadian jobs.
It's a sad thing, but Michelle Rempel's behaviour is starting to alarm a lot of people in Ottawa, or deeply concern them.
For she just can't stop acting like she's boozed up, or stop directing torrents of abuse in the general direction of Justin Trudeau.
I mean who can forget when she recently accused him of treating Alberta...um...badly?
Or forget her many deeply disturbing Twitter tirades.
Well now she's done it again.
I almost felt sorry for Rona Ambrose yesterday, as she tried to say something intelligent about the Liberal's new budget.
Only to fail miserably.
And end up looking, once again, like the village idiot.
Claiming that Liberal spending was out of control, and that it was a "nightmare scenario."
You don't see or hear much about Michelle Rempel these days.
Once she was a rising star in the Harper Party, and a legend in her own mind.
But then Big Daddy went down with a sickening thud, and so did her political career.
These days Rempel spends a lot of her time posing as a Con with a heart of gold, and lecturing other MPs on how to behave.
But sadly all too often, fails to live up to her own demanding standards.
