Like many religious fanatics Andrew Scheer never apologizes for anything.
He can be caught lying over and over again, or smearing his opponents like he has done since the day he entered politics, but the word sorry never escapes his lips.
So he has yet to apologize for this vile and fraudulent smear.
It was a chilling example of what might happen if Andrew Scheer's sinister Con cult is allowed to spread fake news, in a crude attempt to influence the result of the upcoming election.
Just like Donald Trump and his henchmen did in the United States.
An example that began with a truncated video clip put out by Global News, and was quickly picked up by the grubby Con propagandists at the obscenely named Canada Proud.
I spent most of the long weekend far from the madding crowd, recovering from a particularly gruelling exam.
With only the sound of the rain beating down, and a passing yacht club boat chugging along to remind me that Spring had finally arrived.
But what I was also reminded about was that there are now just six months before the next election.
An election that will determine in a very real way, whether this country as we know it lives or dies.

When I last checked out Paul Godfrey, Postmedia's Big Boss, he was cursing Justin Trudeau, and demanding money to bail out his sinking operation.
And his frantic employees were running around, or splashing around, desperately trying to please him.
Which is the only way to explain this story.
Donald Trump had an army of trolls working for him during the election, spreading fake stories, and flaming his opponents.
So it was quite a shock to see him fire one of them.
And no ordinary troll either.
