As I'm sure you know, Jody Wilson-Raybould has been refusing to vacate a suite of offices on Parliament Hill that were assigned to her when she was a cabinet minister.
Even though now she's just a humble independent MP, and the new minister and his staff need them.
She didn't say no, she just didn't budge. She even had the place blessed.
The new Common's Speaker said he was prepared to evict her, if necessary.
For a moment it looked like it could end badly.
Well just as I predicted, the Trudeau Trump fake scandal went nowhere in Canada, and expired shortly after it was born.
Despite the frantic efforts of Vassy Kapelos, and other CBC minions, who blew that teeny tiny fluffy story until their faces turned blue, to try to bring it back to life.
But although the Trudeau Trump story was a bust in Canada, in the U.S. it went viral.
With millions of Americans using what happened at the NATO summit, to laugh at Trump and call him a clown.
When I saw Justin and Sophie Trudeau arriving at Rideau Hall to see the Governor General for a moment I thought we might have a real Canadian election.
One that would reflect this country and its values.
But of course I was just dreaming, or tragically deluded.
For it wasn't long before the picture turned ugly.
Ever since the Ethics Commissioner released his report, Andrew Scheer has been in a feverish frenzy. Trying once again to portray the tacky little SNC affair as Canada's biggest scandal EVER.
And demanding that the RCMP investigate and if necessary jail Justin Trudeau.
But while that deranged approach worked for him at the beginning of the year, and helped propel him and his Cons to the top of the polls.
Now it's all going horribly wrong.
In my last post I looked at how Justin Trudeau's poll numbers had finally recovered from the so-called fake scandal.
And I expressed the fond hope that I would never have to hear from the two Connies Jody Wilson-Raybould and Jane Philpott again.
Then this happened.
And to my horror the fake scandal was back !!!
I realize that Jane Philpott is a medical doctor, and that like other doctors she has no doubt brought back to life some patients who appear at first glance to be dead.
But her political career flatlined a long time ago, and what's left of it is turning green.
So this is ridiculous.
As the Great Polar Bear God of the Great White North knows, I did everything I could this weekend to try to escape the fake scandal.
I went over to the island and finished painting my friend's sailboat. I read a lot of stuff but nothing about Canadian politics. I hung out with some friends and watched soccer games on TV. I took long naps and dreamed of the day Spring finally looks and feels like Spring.
But it was no good.
Because when I finally did take a quick glance at the news there he was.
There is a bridge near the Scottish town of Dumbarton that has a terrifying reputation.
For it is said that hundreds of dogs have leaped over its sides for no apparent reason, only to end up dead in the rocky gorge below.
Since it is Scotland one can't be sure who or what is to blame, furry creatures like mink moving around in the gorge, or a ghost that is said to haunt a nearby mansion.
But I was interested to see that somebody has compared the phenomenon to the hysteria sparked by the fake scandal.
As I'm sure you know I have no time at all for Jody Wilson-Raybould. I never believed she was a saint, or a martyr to truth and justice.
Just a shabby Con tool in Liberal clothing.
And an aggressive self promoter, who with the help of the Con media, orchestrated a fake scandal to try to make Justin Trudeau pay for shuffling her out of her dream job.
But if this story is true, she really has hit rock bottom.
For weeks they waged war on their own government and their own leader Justin Trudeau.
They plotted and coordinated their activities to try to cause maximum damage. They were the darlings of the Con media, who cheered them on wildly, and used them to smear Trudeau.
And of course they were the useful idiots of Andrew Scheer and his far-right extremists, who were hoping their fake scandal would make him and his monstrous Cons the new masters of Canada.
But despite that the two Connies got away with it for what seemed like forever. Until at last their luck ran out yesterday.
I've been enjoying a brief blogging break; taking time off to give my injured right arm time to heal.
And in my free time doing nothing much more than waiting for Spring to arrive.
For it's still not here, it's still too cold, and it's going to snow tonight,
Which makes me wish I was in Scotland, where even in the moody highlands my family tells me, the crocuses are blooming.
I shouldn't really be blogging. My right hand is in a cast, I can't write properly with my other hand, and the pain killers are making me woozy.
But I would be in even more pain if I didn't write something about the latest chapter in the fake scandal.
Because it must surely horrify every decent Canadian.
I suppose that it was this photo of Jody Wilson-Raybould and Jane Philpott holding court at the Chateau Laurier, that finally tipped off the media.
Made some of them realize that the two women were carefully orchestrating events to keep the fake scandal in the news.
And that, as Susan Delacourt says, it's a well organized campaign.
In the seven weeks since the fake scandal erupted, the MSM's chosen role has been to act as its giddy cheerleaders.
But now some are starting to notice that Jody Wilson-Rabould and Jane Philpott seem to be playing some kind of weird game.
And like most Canadians some are starting to say enough is enough.
After a voting marathon that ran non-stop for more than 30 hours the Con filibuster ended early this morning.
It failed to achieve its objective of forcing the Liberals to allow Jody Wilson-Rabould to speak "her truth" again, which was absurd to begin with since experts have testified she can say what she wants in the House of Commons anytime she wants.
But it did cost taxpayers at least $1.5 million dollars, it did get some really bad reviews.
And it did make Andrew Scheer look like a liar. Again.
I've been trying very hard to ignore Jody Wilson-Raybould and her best buddy Jane Philpott, because like most Canadians I'm sick to death of the fake scandal.
Which in my opinion has now reached such a level of absurdity, it's starting to resemble an episode of mass psychosis.
I should add that I've also done my best to ignore the persistent rumour that the two women are involved in some kind of bizarre plot to topple Justin Trudeau, and make Wilson-Raybould Prime Minister.
For I thought that was not just absurd, it was laughable.
And then I saw this.
As you know Andrew Scheer is desperate to try to keep the fake scandal going, to try to make Canadians forget that he has been exposed as a far-right extremist.
So he came up with the idea of a filibuster to try to force the Liberals to allow Jody Wilson-Raybould to tell the justice committee even more of "her truth." *Groan.*
With the absurd slogan "let her speak and we will let you sleep."
But unfortunately for Scheer and his Cons, the filibuster is backfiring badly, and making them look even more unfit to ever form a government.
As you know I have always felt that the SNC-Lavalin affair was an over hyped fake scandal.
And that Andrew Scheer and his sleazy Cons were behaving like members of a third-rate circus.
I'm sure you also know that I was also enraged to see our ghastly MSM media stumbling around in the ring and feverishly promoting that shabby show.
So you can imagine how happy I am to see the CBC's Neil Macdonald call out this sordid spectacle.
Earlier today I wrote a post about the disgraceful way the grotesque Con media has been behaving in its coverage of the fake scandal.
And after comparing their fevered frenzy to the Lord of the Flies, I thought what Michael Coren had to say might teach them some manners.
Or at least encourage them to control themselves and/or their bowels.
But alas, I was wrong.
Because now the Cons and their shabby stooges are back, and are more hysterical than ever.
Ever since the fake scandal erupted, I've sometimes felt like that other Simon in William Golding's Lord of the Flies. The one who could see what others couldn't, or didn't want to see.
The one who knew who the real monster was.
Because for me the real monster was the way the Con media covered the story, with a feverish one-sided assault on Justin Trudeau, so biased and so sweaty with toxic Trudeau hatred it was practically pornographic.
And worse, because this one-sided hysterical coverage did not reflect the views of most Canadians, that gaping disconnect also struck me as totalitarian in nature, and a threat to our democracy.
So I'm really glad to see somebody in the MSM finally call out the monster.
