When I saw Justin and Sophie Trudeau arriving at Rideau Hall to see the Governor General for a moment I thought we might have a real Canadian election.
One that would reflect this country and its values.
But of course I was just dreaming, or tragically deluded.
For it wasn't long before the picture turned ugly.
As I'm sure you know, the idea of Andrew Scheer as a crime buster makes me howl with laughter.
That angry nerd would protect us from the criminals?
And who I wonder would protect us from him and his Cons?
Especially since Scheer's Crime Busting Plan turns out to be practically fraudulent.
The more Canadians get to know Andrew Scheer, the more they realize that he wasn't kidding when he said he was Stephen Harper with a smile.
For although that smile is really creepy, and that religious fanatic has the potential to be even more dangerous than Harper.
Not only does Schmear or Schmeagol lie like a thief.
He also loves to play the politics of fear.
