Pierre Poilievre and the Death of the Fake Scandal

I wasn't looking forward to watching Justin Trudeau appear before the Commons Justice Committee.

I knew that Pierre Poilievre and his ugly stooge Charlie Angus were out for blood, determined to make a fake scandal sound like a real one.

And after the way they had both teamed up to smear poor Margaret Trudeau the day before, I knew they were capable of anything.

But as it turns out, I shouldn't have worried.

The Monkey Court and the Day the NDP Died

I knew the Finance Committee hearing into the so-called WEgate scandal was going to be a kangaroo court, or something even worse.

For the very simple reason, there is no scandal.

WE Charity co-founders Marc and Craig Kielburger emerged from a four-hour grilling by opposition MPs tonight saying they did not stand to gain financially from agreeing to run the Liberal government's $900 million student grant program — and insisting they did not exploit their ties with the Trudeau family to secure the deal. 

Just two decent young Canadians trying to save their well loved children's charity, from dirty old men like these.

Old pols like Charlie Angus and  Pierre Poilievre, who would destroy a kid's charity just to get at Justin Trudeau.

Or worse go after poor old Margaret Trudeau for the same reason.

Which made me really angry...

No decent person can deny that Angus and Poilievre behaved like fascist pigs. They treated the Kielberger brothers like criminals.They berated and insulted them, they interrupted their answers again and again.

Even the Chair couldn't control them.    

 

And although I was happy to see that the brothers were able to handle themselves with class and dignity throughout their four hour ordeal.

What shocked me was how many Cons were cheering on the NDP, like they were now their farm team, or little orange brothers.

So much so that even the well known Con Stephen Taylor, once the master of the Blogging Tories, suggested that Charlie and Pierre should celebrate their appalling behaviour.

Or suggested that the boring Peter Julian is us ALL...

Instead of just another Con stooge who even after grilling the Kielburger brothers for more than four hours, declared that he STILL wasn't satisfied.

And yeah, that's it for me as far as the NDP is concerned. 

I used to vote for them back in the days when they were idealists, and could legitimately claim to be progressive. And I'm still proud that Jack Layton was my friend.

But then came angry Tom Mulcair who took the party so far to the right, I didn't recognize it...

And was singularly obsessed with destroying Justin Trudeau. Just like the old and bitter DipperCons are today.

So now I'm done forever, or at least until the NDP becomes a nobler and more decent party again. 

As for Justin Trudeau, tomorrow he will have to face the Angus-Poilievre committee, or the Canadian version of an ugly star chamber.

And like so many other Canadians I am hoping that Trudeau will prevail. For our country is in great danger.

The Cons and the NDP have sabotaged our ability to defeat the pandemic.

And as far as I can see only decency can save us now...

So I'm glad to see that after leading us to a very good place....

I have no idea why Andrew Scheer hates Canada so much. Or why can't put the interests of his country before those of his party.

Or why he tries so hard to debase and destroy his opponents.

That's something only a psychiatrist, or since he's a religious fanatic, only a minister can answer.

But that he does hate this country there can be no doubt.

For this is just the latest example.

For months the ghastly Con clown Pierre Poilievre has been going after Justin Trudeau for daring to take a vacation on the Aga Khan's island.

And accusing him of acting unethically, as only he could.

But now the annoying little clown has been revealed to be a monstrous hypocrite,

For a long time after the Con regime went down in flames, and was humiliated beyond recognition, Pierre Poilievre all but faded into the woodwork.

Or lost himself in the midst of all those Con losers. I mean just look at them.

But then the fake Aga Khan scandal gave him a new lease on life, and another chance to attack Justin Trudeau and his family.

And now he's at it again.

Stephen Harper, Pierre Poilievre, and the Great Terrorist Scam

It's easy to forget the past, in the age of Trump, when the truth is so easily buried under a daily avalanche of excrement and insanity.

But two years ago, at this same dark time of the year, a desperate Stephen Harper was about to launch his Great War on Terror.

It had just been a few months since a gunman had stormed Parliament Hill, Harper thought he could use the fear card to scare Canadians into giving him another Glorious Majority.



And he wasn't about to let facts get in the way, or take no for an answer.

So when Justin Trudeau suggested we should examine the root causes of terrorism, Harper ridiculed him and accused Trudeau of "committing sociology." 

While his yapping minion Pierre Poilievre continued to proudly proclaim that the root cause of terrorism is TERRORISTS!!!!

The Paradise Papers and the Hypocrisy of the Cons

Oh no. What have we done to deserve this? Not another tax scandal, not more Pierre Poilievre. 

As you know when we last left the man they call Pee Wee or Dickhead, he was in a shrunken state, after his phony tax scandal went nowhere.

But now he's back, and more annoying than ever.

For weeks Pierre Poilievre has been enjoying his moment in the spotlight again, attacking the Liberals as only the man known as Pee Wee or Dickhead can.

While our shabby Con media licked and sucked him like a lollipop.

And he must have felt like he was back in the good old days...



But then on Friday the conflict of interest commissioner finally clarified matters. 

Conflict of interest commissioner Mary Dawson says Finance Minister Bill Morneau is the only Liberal cabinet minister who currently holds indirect assets without a blind trust in place. 

And let the air out of his balloon.

Is the CRA Helping the Cons Smear the Liberals?

During the dark years of the Con regime, the Canada Revenue Agency was accused of acting as Stephen Harper's secret weapon.

A weapon he used to harass and intimidate his enemies, from environmental groups to a group of birdwatchers who had dared criticize two of his ministers.

The Cons needless to say did nothing to shed light on the situation, before they were toppled.

So now I can't help but wonder if the CRA is once again playing dirty political games.

For weeks I've been warning that there was something funny or fishy about the way Andrew Scheer and his Cons were attacking the Liberal government's plans to reform our tax system.

Warning that nobody should believe Scheer when he claimed he was trying to defend the poor rather than the rich.

And sure enough, Vice News has obtained copies of the Con's secret documents detailing how their MPs are to go after the government,

And they couldn't be more shocking.

The Cons and the Big Fake Tax Scandal

Michael de Adder is one of my favourite Canadian cartoonists, a guy I admire a lot even if I don't always agree with his political views.

But sadly this cartoon is both disappointing and appalling.

Not just because it demonizes an attempt to make taxation fairer in this country.

But also because like so many other Canadians, de Adder doesn't know what he's talking about.

Pierre Poilievre and the Death of the Unfair Elections Act

In all the nightmare years of Harperland, it was one of the foulest bills the Con regime ever rammed through parliament.

Pierre Poilievre's Orwellian named Fair Elections Act, which he claimed would strengthen democracy. 

But was in fact a blatant attempt to strangle it by suppressing the vote.

So I'm glad to see that ghastly law is about to join Poilievre in the garbage can of history.

The Desperate Cons and the Referendum Obsession

It's the Con's worst nightmare. The spectre of electoral reform coming after them, and threatening to drive them from power forever. 

And since they know only a referendum can save them, they spend an incredible amount of time calling for or screaming for one. 

Or repeating the same talking point over and over again like a broken record

If you've tuned in to Question Period since the last election, federal Conservatives seem to have one response and one response only whenever anyone brings up the question of reforming Canada's electoral system: referendum!

And of course the idea of a referendum did have to come from Pierre Poilievre.

The Day Rona Ambrose Stared Into The Abyss

It was only Rona Ambrose's third Question Period as Leader of the Opposition. 

And there she was yesterday, trying to look like she's really in control of her shattered party, that she knows what she's doing.

And that she's the steady hand on the wheel of the Con shipwreck.

Only to suddenly seem to lose it, and let out a primal scream.
