A few days ago I wrote a post about the young activist Greta Thunberg after she completed her amazing voyage across the Atlantic. Only to find myself having to delete one disgusting comment after the other. And discover to my horror that climate change deniers and other grotesque Cons all over the world have been trying to bully that brave young woman. Even going so far or so low to mock her Asperger's syndrome, as this dirty old Trumpling does here.
They are two of the most disgusting politicians this country has ever known, but their love for each other knows no bounds. They are both climate change deniers who are willing to torch the planet for crass political purposes. They are both brutish bullies who get a special thrill going after LBGT children. And now it seems both are auditioning for the roles of tin pot dictators.
As I'm sure you know, I never believed that Doug Ford was anywhere near qualified to be the Premier of Ontario. And I always knew it was only a matter of time before his inner ape emerged.. But who knew he'd be riding the crazy train so soon?
As you know Doug Ford had secretly promised to let his developer friends carve out a big chunk of Toronto's Greenbelt. Until a video was released of him making that promise, and he performed one of the quickest flip flops in modern Canadian history.
It was humiliating, it made no sense, and his claim that he listened to the people couldn't be more absurd. When he was obviously spanked by his Team Harper handlers, who you can be sure will do anything to make sure the beast doesn't make that kind of mistake again.
I know this may be hard to believe, but after attacking Stephen Harper almost every day for almost ten years, my memories of him and his grim decade of darkness had started to fade. And I almost felt sorry for him.
After all I said to myself, he's not the Great Leader he once was. People change, time heals almost everything. I even started to wonder whether I had been too hard on him. Can you believe that? But then I saw this.
We don't hear much from Michelle Rempel these days. Ever since her political sugar daddy Stephen Harper faded to black, or blue, her paint has been peeling off too. And she's not happy. Once she was a rising star, or at least that's what the Con media said. And she was in the news all the time But these days she gets very little face time in Question Period. And her Twitter feed is a shadow of what it once was, mostly because she has blocked so many Canadians from reading it.
As I'm sure you know, I have been fighting back against the virulent Trudeau hate which is infecting our country like a hideous disease. It's normalizing bigotry, it's slowly killing our Canadian values. And judging from the comments I have been receiving, is resulting in a record number of death threats aimed at Trudeau...
And at myself...
I don't completely understand where this visceral hatred comes from, although I'm sure much of it is oozing like pus across the border from Trump's diseased America. But what I do know is that Trudeau haters come in all shapes and sizes.
I couldn't properly explain why I was so disgusted by the way the monstrous Cons went after Sophie Grégoire Trudeau, for simply admitting she was feeling overwhelmed, and asking for help. And why I was so bothered by the way so many other Canadians piled on. It was the bullying of course, and the casual cruelty, and the women hate. And the indecent glee of her tormentors. But there was something else that really bothered me, and I think that Neil Macdonald explains it very well.
I suppose I shouldn't be surprised at their latest atrocity. Not after the way Rona Ambrose's cruel Cons treated the dying Liberal MP Muril Belanger. But still it shocks me, and makes me wonder whether they are humans or beasts. Because believe it or not the Cons are going after the Trudeau children again.
David Parkins/Globe and Mail As Justin Trudeau prepares to leave for Washington, I think it's safe to say that the Globe is probably right, for once. It almost certainly will be a media circus. What with so many Americans curious about our cool new prime minister, or madly in love with him. And no doubt his interview with the CBS newsmagazine 60 Minutes. Will guarantee him an even warmer welcome.
For weeks I've been warning that the Con zombies out there are out of control Spewing hatred in every direction, and even threatening the lives of Rachel Notley and Justin Trudeau. I've been monitoring those Con crazies for years, and I've never seen anything like it. And if you don't believe me, read Martin Patriquin's story and meet some of them yourselves.
In a country full of Stephen Harper's victims, Omar Khadr is without a doubt the one who suffered the most. The one he went after like a bully in heat, or a rabid animal. The one he allowed to be tortured in a place like Guantanamo, even though he was a child soldier. The one he demonized to please his bloodthirsty bigot base, suck up their sucker dollars, and pleasure his inner demons. While muzzling that young Canadian for almost ten years, and never letting us hear his story. So I'm glad to see that the Liberal government may finally be preparing to end this monstrous travesty of justice.
As I said the other day, I think it's going to be really hard for Rona Ambrose to move herself and her Cons out of the darkness and into the light. When among other things, she was prepared to put her foul ideology before the lives of thousands of drug addicted Canadians. Which is almost impossible to forget.
And after the way Stephen Harper and his foul regime brutalized the people and the values of this country for so many years. Which is almost impossible to forgive. But I see that hasn't stopped Ambrose from claiming that from now on the Cons won't be so nasty.
For years Stephen Harper and his brutish Con regime politicized every government department to a degree never seen before. They turned every department into cogs and wheels of their massive propaganda machine. They muzzled those who disagreed with them, and turned others into their willing collaborators. And now we find out that some of the top bureaucrats waited until a few months ago to discuss what to do about the problem.
For five long years Kevin Page was the Parliamentary Budget Officer, and in many ways the conscience of the Con regime. They hated the way he stood up for the truth, they hounded him, they made his life miserable. And two years ago they finally forced him out. But now Page is back with a new book, that tells the story of those nightmare years.
It has been several days since the Harper regime suspended the federal scientist Tony Turner for writing and singing the song Harperman. And as expected it has triggered a debate over whether public servants can be political activists. And while some Cons claim they can't, and that they must remain loyal to their monstrous master. The Supreme Court settled that question twenty-four years ago.
Oh dear. It looks like Stephen Harper is not too happy to see Omar Khadr go free. He wants him back in his dark dungeon so he can torture him some more. And his barely repressed desire to inflict pain on others, or jail them, is making him sound like a crazy man.
Years ago I predicted that Canadians who didn't care about the way Stephen Harper was raping the human rights of the child soldier Omar Khadr would live to regret it. For if he was able to get away with it once, and enjoy the taste of blood in his mouth, it was only a matter of time before the monster would try to rape THEIR rights And sure enough here we are living in his ghastly Harperland, where the bully is trying to use fear to win an election, while stealthily turning us into a police state. And the way he has treated Omar Khadr tells us all we need to know about the monstrous nature of his Con regime.
There couldn't have been an uglier sight. Thousands of members of the anti-Catholic Orange Lodge marching through Edinburgh to show their support for the NO side.
Or one more representative of the NO side's attempt to bully the YES side into submission.
For by now the combined forces of Big Business, the corporate media, and the Westminster political establishment have tried everything to crush this peaceful people's revolt. The crudest threats, the most absurd predictions of doom like this latest one...
All designed to scare people into voting NO. And the good news is that at this point at least it isn't working.
In my last post I said that the break-in at Justin Trudeau's home was a clear attempt to terrorize him and his young family. And I accused Stephen Harper and his Cons of having created a climate of hate. Which is so obvious in the comment section of this Sun story.
As well as in the comment sections of other newspapers and on websites like Twitter. But while condemning those vile comments, the National Post's Michael Den Tandt somehow manages to save most of his scorn for the ones he calls Harper haters.
