Doug Ford and the Whack-A-Mole Farce

He's only been in office for just over seven months, but already Doug Ford is the worst Premier Ontario has ever known.

He clearly doesn't know what he's doing, and to make matters worse he's all over the place. One moment he's threatening to privatize medicare, the next moment he's denying that.

One moment he's threatening all-day kindergarten, before suddenly changing his mind. 

So I wasn't surprised to see the Liberal MP Adam Vaughan compare his brutish and incompetent regime to a game of whack-a-mole.

Candice Bergen and the Summer of Failure

Candice Bergen, the Con house leader, is one of the loudest and most vile members of Andrew Scheer's Con Clown Circus.

Her hatred for Justin Trudeau is so great it's deeply disturbing, and can only make many Canadians question whether she's losing her marbles.

So when her creepy Con leader decreed that this now dying summer should be known as Trudeau's "Summer of Failure."

Nobody could control her or hold her back.

The Many Lies of the Con Artist Andrew Scheer

As you may know, I consider Andrew Scheer to be a serial liar, a man who lies almost as much as Donald Trump does.

A liar who should have a flashing red light attached to the end of his large pointy nose to warn others he's coming.

But this latest lie is so bad it's ridiculous.

Andrew Scheer's Shameful Contempt for Parliament

Andrew Scheer was without a doubt the worst Speaker of the House of Commons in modern Canadian history.

A Speaker so biased, so incompetent, and so depraved, that he allowed his fellow Cons to make a mockery out of our Parliament.

Cutting off debate, heckling and howling like beasts, stomping around like bullies, defecating on our values and traditions, until the Commons resembled nothing less than a Roman or fascist circus.

And now Scheer has shown his contempt for Parliament again.

Candice Bergen and the Trudeau Hating Cons

I've been trying to write something about what the year 2017 felt like to me, but it isn't easy.

So many things happened, I can't decide whether it was a good year or a bad one. 

Or whether we're making progress, or going back to the Stone Age.

And to make matters worse every time I start, I keep getting distracted. 

Either by some of the many university students in my neighbourhood shouting PAAAAARTY!!!

Or as I was last night, by some very loud grunting and honking.

The Day Andrew Scheer Was Exposed As A Liar

In my last post I told you how Andrew Scheer had been caught lying like a thief or a Trump.

Claiming that Justin Trudeau had called some Canadians "tax cheats."



When in fact Trudeau never used those words.

But while Scheer has yet to admit he lied, it seems that what little credibility he had left, has been dealt a mortal blow.

By one of his own.

Michelle Rempel's Outrageous Assault on Justin Trudeau

It's a sad thing, but Michelle Rempel's behaviour is starting to alarm a lot of people in Ottawa, or deeply concern them.

For she just can't stop acting like she's boozed up, or stop directing torrents of abuse in the general direction of Justin Trudeau.

I mean who can forget when she recently accused him of treating Alberta...um...badly?



Or forget her many deeply disturbing Twitter tirades.

Well now she's done it again.

The Snobby Cons and the Bus Driver Minister

When I was a very small boy I used to dream of driving a bus, and the bigger the better.

But it didn't take me very long to realize that the job wasn't as glamorous as I had imagined. 

And that I probably would never have the skill or the patience to be a good driver.

Which was just as well because it turned out the job could also be dangerous.

So I really can't understand why the Cons behaved so badly in the House of Commons the other day.

The Trudeau Summer and the Slow Death of the Cons

It still feels like summer in the place where I live, but fall officially arrives tomorrow.

So I have been spending as much time as I can soaking up every precious ray of sunshine.

And I am finding it very hard to get excited about the return of Parliament.

For just one quick glance at Question Period was enough to send shivers down my back.

Candice Bergen and the Sad State of the Con Leadership Race

Yesterday I tried illustrate the effect Stephen Harper's foul legacy was having on the Con leadership race.

With the most mediocre candidates that party and this country has ever seen shuffling around or buzzing around, seeking to replace him.

And I wrote that I didn't think it could get any worse.

But sadly I was wrong.

Justin Trudeau and the Un-Googling of Stephen Harper

As you probably know I have been extremely pleased by the systematic way Justin Trudeau and his Liberals have been demolishing Stephen Harper's foul legacy.

Scrapping his monuments, deep sixing his fascist crime bills, taking out the garbage, and improving our image in the eyes of the world.

And in that regard this is another excellent move.

Sophie Grégoire Trudeau and the Little Canadians

I couldn't properly explain why I was so disgusted by the way the monstrous Cons went after Sophie Grégoire Trudeau, for simply admitting she was feeling overwhelmed, and asking for help.

And why I was so bothered by the way so many other Canadians piled on.

It was the bullying of course, and the casual cruelty, and the women hate. And the indecent glee of her tormentors.

But there was something else that really bothered me, and I think that Neil Macdonald explains it very well.

The Cons and the NDP Go After Sophie Trudeau

Well I suppose it was inevitable, she's young, she's smart, she's Justin Trudeau's princess.

So first the Cons went after Justin, then they went after their children, then they went after Margaret Trudeau.

And now they're going after Sophie.

The Monstrous Cons Go After the Trudeau Children Again

I suppose I shouldn't be surprised at their latest atrocity.

Not after the way Rona Ambrose's cruel Cons treated the dying Liberal MP Muril Belanger.

But still it shocks me, and makes me wonder whether they are humans or beasts.

Because believe it or not the Cons are going after the Trudeau children again.

The Duffy Verdict and the Cowardly Con Losers

Nobody really expected Stephen Harper to comment on the Mike Duffy verdict. Not after the way the trial judge blasted the sleazy behaviour of his monstrous PMO.

And he didn't. His office didn't even respond to media requests for a statement. 

But he wasn't the only Con running for cover.

Justin Trudeau and the Desperate Con Losers

Well Justin Trudeau's fairy tale visit to Washington is over.

And no doubt the entire Trudeau family is resting up after their extraordinary performance...



Including the youngest member who also did his part to win over the Americans.

And so successful was the visit that even the Con friendly L. Ian MacDonald was forced to admit that Trudeau had a very good week. 

The Grotesque Hypocrisy of the Con Clown Candice Bergen

Like her leathery leader Rona The Vulture Ambrose, Candice Bergen likes to dress in black. 

And with good reason.

She is one of the nastiest Cons in the House of Commons.

Are Rona Ambrose's Ghastly Cons Out of Control?

When Rona Ambrose was crowned temporary Queen of the Cons, and promised that her shell shocked MPs would set a "new tone" i.e. raise their behaviour out of the gutter, and stop acting like animals.

I remember wondering whether she was dumb or delusional, and whether she really believed she could do that in the snake pit of a party Stephen Harper created. 

And Jason Kenney now runs.

And sure enough she couldn't. She just couldn't CONTROL them.

The Not So Nice Cons and the Bitterness of Candice Bergen

When Rona Ambrose became the interim leader of the defeated and humiliated Cons, she promised that they would adopt a "new tone."

I predicted that wouldn't last long, and sure enough it didn't.

Because now Candice Bergen has made it only too clear those were indeed hollow words.

And she for one REALLY hates Justin Trudeau.





And that only about ten days after she herself promised to engage her opponents in a more respectful manner.

Which can only make some wonder if she has any idea how most Canadians felt about her and her depraved leader...




But then who can blame Bergen and the other Cons?

When Justin Trudeau is systematically dismantling the foul legacy of the Harper regime.

He has ordered the return of the long-form census, he has unmuzzled scientists and civil servants, he has given directions that all Charter challenges be scrapped.

And yesterday at long last his government buried the Great War on the Niqab. 

The federal government has formally withdrawn a controversial court challenge involving the niqab, says Jody Wilson-Raybould in her first act as Canada's attorney general and justice minister.

Whose passing deserves to be marked, because it was without a doubt one of the worst things Stephen Harper ever did.



Using bigotry as a political weapon, and stirring up hatred that along with the events in Paris, is still poisoning our country.

Teenage Muslim girls at a north Toronto mosque have a new rule this week: Don’t walk alone to Islamic night school. And whatever you do, don’t jaywalk – you don’t want to give drivers any excuses, cautioned Aleemuddin Syed, director of Darul Khair Islamic Centre.

The warnings came after the Islamic State’s co-ordinated killings in Paris and an ensuing spate of anti-Muslim hate crimes in Canada. The incidents this week include the burning of a mosque in Peterborough, Ont., and racist graffiti and many reported verbal encounters across the country, leading Muslim and police groups to offer safety advice.

Which couldn't be more disgusting.

But of course the real reason Candice Bergen and the other Cons are so bitter is that it is finally sinking in that after ten years their time is really over.

And that Justin Trudeau is dismantling the Harper regime like Keir Dullea dismantled the evil computer HAL in the movie 2001 Space Odyssey...



And although Trudeau still has a lot more work ahead.

On Harper’s watch Canadian law grew ever more heedless of civil rights, contemptuous of the judiciary, unreasonably punitive, and unfriendly to minorities and refugees. Canadians voted for something better on Oct. 19. The Liberals have work to do, restoring the public’s trust. The niqab was a start. It must not end there.

That is the good news.

It was a horrible nightmare. He was a real monster.

But Stephen Harper's ghastly regime is being taken apart.

And he's never coming back...

Why the Con Leadership Race is Heading for Oblivion

OMG don't look now, but the Con race to replace Stephen Harper and become interim leader is turning into a hog stampede.

With Jesus Harper looking on and cheering because they're all his candidates. And Jason Kenney waiting to claim the big prize.

But if the Cons are hoping to renew their shattered and demoralized party they're definitely heading in the wrong direction.

Or heading for oblivion.
