As I said in my last post, I had trouble staying awake during the Maclean's Debate. It was that boring.
So while I was struck by the weird way way Andrew Scheer was behaving, and how he began every answer no matter the question with the words "Justin Trudeau."
I missed some ugly Scheer moments.
Like when he went after asylum seekers. Again
Two days ago Andrew Scheer was finally forced to answer questions about what he thought of Donald Trump's racist remarks, and it wasn't a pretty sight.
He hummed, he hawed, he fidgeted like a fish on a hook. He looked really uncomfortable.
And now we know why.
For while Scheer called Trump's comments offensive, and divisive.
He's now playing the same dirty old game.
Andrew Scheer is still claiming that his "positive message" is working, and that more and more Canadians want him to be prime minister.
But sadly for him, he's either terribly wrong, or lying. Again.
For he has no positive message, just the same old Rebel-style attack ads aimed at Justin Trudeau, brought to us by his ex-Rebel campaign manager Hamish Marshall.
And as for Scheer's popularity, according to the latest Nanos poll, it's STILL tanking.
It's the kind of thing that can ruin your evening. You come home, you turn on the TV, and there's Michelle Rempel, the new take no prisoners/ don't f**k with me Rempel, auditioning for the part of Canada's Marine Le Pen.
It doesn't get much worse than that.
But Rempel's performance yesterday was actually quite entertaining, when she suddenly announced that the Cons had a new immigration plan.
Only to derail her own launch by going after Maxime Bernier.
But then who can blame her?
Mad Max is on a rampage.
I knew Andrew Scheer wasn't going to be too hard on Mad Max Bernier for his brutish assault on diversity.
Scheer has yet to criticize the Saudis for their bestial attempt to hurt and humiliate this country.
So he's not exactly a hero eh?
And he knows that if he came down too hard on Bernier, his rabid racist base would tear him apart.
But this is ridiculous.
