Almost every day for more than two years Andrew Scheer has attacked Justin Trudeau in the vilest and most cowardly manner.
But now that the Liberals are exposing the bigotry and religious fanaticism of one Con candidate after the other, he's not happy, as you can see from the look on his face.
And from the way the Con campaign is going up in flames.
There can now be no doubt now that Donald Trump is a foul bigot, who is disgracing himself and the office he holds.
There is no doubt that whatever he says he is racist to the bone.
But what I also find interesting is how political leaders in this country reacted to that sordid episode, because I think it says a lot about them.
For nine long weeks Justin Trudeau has been forced to defend himself from the Cons and their media stooges, who tried to use the fake scandal to destroy him.
But that scandal finally passed away the other day, not with a bang but a whimper.
And now Trudeau is putting on the gloves again.
It was an ugly spectacle, hundreds of trucks rolling into downtown Ottawa, heading for Parliament Hill.
Disrupting traffic, spewing foul fumes in every direction.
And deafening those unlucky enough to be caught in their path.
I think you know how I feel about Andrew Scheer's kooky far right campaign against the U.N.'s Global Compact on Migration.
It's another Big Lie. It appeals to the worst instincts of humanity. It's the call of the loony fascist. And it's dangerous.
But I have to admit I never thought that many Canadians would be fooled by Scheer's monstrous lie.
And now I'm not so sure.
There are now just five days to go before the midterm elections, and Donald Trump has never felt so threatened.
Polls suggest that he could lose control of the House and maybe even the Senate.
So he's pulling out all the stops.
And playing the racist card
It's hard to tell when Hog Trump is honking louder than usual, for he does honk all the time.
But he is squealing really loudly these days about a caravan of desperate men, women, and children fleeing poverty and violence.
He's even accusing some of them of being Middle Eastern terrorists, even though there is no evidence of that,
And even though he has his own Middle Eastern problem.
In my last post I looked at how the Cons had been hit by a series of bozo eruptions, just a couple of weeks before they hold their big convention in Halifax.
And how a lot of people were wondering whether Andrew Scheer had lost control of his party. Or had corrupted it beyond recognition.
So these days it's little more than the Party of Hate, spewing toxic bigotry in every direction.
And now to make matters even more desperate for the floundering Scheer, there has been another bozo eruption.
And it's a big one.
A few days ago I wrote a post accusing Michelle Rempel of whipping up hatred against asylum seekers for crass political purposes.
And of being totally out of control.
So I'm glad to see that even some of her colleagues now share that view.
Especially the hapless Con clown Erin O'Toole.
Michelle Rempel likes to pose as the political equivalent of Little Miss Muffet. A tiny shining light of decency in a world full of nasty scary spiders.
Liberal spiders who are always attacking her, or discreetly suggesting she's a drunk. And Con spiders who won't recognize her "greatness" or make her their leader.
And while I don't expect that to change, since she does like to scream about EVERYTHING.
She can forget about the decency part.
If the weather in the Scottish highlands hadn't been so perfect, I might have written something in the last three weeks. Especially since somebody once said that if you want to write an insightful piece about Canada you have to leave it.
So I thought I might try to explain how the Cons and other hate mongers had managed to corrupt this country so much, with the help of our shabby media and a small army of dirty old men.
But the weather was so balmy, the sea air was so fresh and clean, and I had such a great time sailing up and down the north east coast and meeting old friends in places like this one...
Canada and its fetid problems seemed so far away, and so easy to forget.
Until I travelled down to Edinburgh to participate in this big anti-Trump rally protesting his presence in Scotland.
Andrew Scheer finally won a by-election last night by appealing to Quebec nationalists and playing footsie with former separatists.
But don't expect him to brag about it too much. For it was a tainted victory.
And there is a reason he didn't mention this at the Con's victory party.
Scheer has said he'd give Quebec more power over culture and immigration and has promised to crack down on the influx of irregular refugee claimants, which has become a particular problem at Quebec's Lacolle border crossing.
For once again Scheer has been caught cuddling up to right-wing extremists.
It's called the Case Padre or Father House in English.
It looks at first glance like a school or a recreation centre.
But it's actually a converted Walmart where the Trump regime sends immigrant kids forcibly separated from their parents.
Donald Trump has always been a racist. From the day he launched his campaign to the monstrous place we are in now.
But yesterday had to be his worst and most racist day ever.
He was up late the night before, tweeting away. Trying to deny that he had called El Salvador, Haiti, and some African countries "shitholes" at a meeting with lawmakers.
Only to be called a liar by a Senator who was at that meeting.
And portrayed as a shithole himself.
As you may know, the religious fanatic, and homophobic pervert Roy Moore rode a horse to the polls on the day of his Waterloo.
And the horse was not amused.
And who can blame the poor Sassy?
For anyone who rides like that deserves to be thrown to the ground, or arrested by the SPCA.
But while Moore did end up badly, and looking like a horse's ass.
I knew that it wouldn't be long before Hamish Marshall, who once worked for Ezra Levant's hate mongering rag The Rebel, would start telling Andrew Scheer what to do.
In his new role as the Con's election campaign manager.
The one who is supposed to help Scheer become Prime Minister, after having managed his winning leadership campaign.
I also knew that Marshall would start by trying to soften Schmear's image which has been damaged by weeks of screaming at Justin Trudeau.
Donald Trump likes to claim he's not a racist, despite all the evidence to the contrary.
He likes to claim it's all about saving the white people's heritage, or stopping black athletes from dishonouring the flag or the national anthem.
But it is all just another Big Lie.
Like the the latest one his grubby racist supporters would have you believe.
Donald Trump has been losing his marbles for a long time, but now it seems the last few are blasting out or rolling out of his rear orifice. And it's a scary sight.
He's threatening to bomb the North Koreans, the Iranians, the Venezuelans, and his own party.
And now he's taking his assault on America one step further.
By declaring war on the National Football League.
I don't know from what diseased mind or minds those hateful posters came from.
I don't know whether those racists were inspired by their Lord Emperor Donald Trump.
Or boosted by Kellie Leitch's emulation of him, and her politics of division.
But I must say I find this deeply disturbing.
When I saw Donald Trump in a Detroit church, trying to appeal to African-American voters by posing as a religious person.
And swaying awkwardly from side to side to the strains of the song "What a Mighty God We Serve."
I must admit that I laughed so long and so loudly I was practically transported myself.
But of course it wasn't really funny, it was the act of a desperate Con man.
