John Baird and the Palestine Shame
I didn't think it was possible that John Baird could shame this country further.
Make us look more like stooges, oddballs, or just plain weird eh?
But somehow he managed.

Are the Con Zombies Out of Control?
Damn. Even after studying them for years, I don't think I'll ever really understand the true horror of Stephen Harper and his Con zombies.
I know they're an alien right-wing strain. I know they're political thugs who lie all the time. I know they're the stooges of foreign interests, and foreign governments.
I know they shame us in the eyes of the world. But why do they always go after the CHILDREN?

Rob Ford and the Cherry Nation
Golly. How moving. I see that the old Con Don Cherry is
“It’s unbelievable how they have nailed him to the cross and only because of who he is,” Cherry said. “I feel for him because I have been there.”
And sharing his paranoia.
Will Progressives Defeat Themselves?
In the growing darkness of Harperland, it's hard to know what's the truth, what is illusion, and what's just another Big Lie.
But sometimes the truth is so blinding, like a fire in the sky, that it's impossible to ignore it. Or live like so many Canadians in a state of denial.
For if you're a progressive, and you are serious about bringing down the Con regime, this result should serve as a warning.

Another Good Reason Rob Ford Should Go
When I saw Rob Ford today, sort of apologizing for the first time in his life, I'm almost felt sorry for him.
"Looking back, maybe I could have expressed myself in a different way. To everyone who believes I should have done this differently, I sincerely apologize," Ford said in a prepared statement at a Tuesday afternoon news conference at city hall.
For his voice was hoarse, there were tears in his eyes. And the sight of a Con blubbering always moves me deeply eh?
But then I remembered that he lost his voice cheering wildly at an Argo rally a few hours before, and then I noticed his brother Doug.

Rob Ford and the End of the Moron Nation
Well it was never going to be a pretty sight eh? You can't put lipstick on a Con.
But there was Rob Ford as ugly as ever. Blaming everybody but himself, after hitting the ground with a sickening thud.

Stephen Harper's Humiliating Weekend
Golly. It must be a case of reverse voodoo eh?
The more pins Stephen Harper sticks into his Justin Trudeau doll, the more Justin laughs.
And the more Great Macaca Leader squeals.

Stephen Harper and the Two Justins
OMG. Or should that be Baby Baby? What are Stephen Harper and his absurd Cons doing to our country?
For there was Great Musical Leader today, too busy to meet with the premiers, but not too busy to hand out royal bling to Justin Bieber.
While in the House of Commons the Con chorus wailed pathetically: The other Justin is bullying Alberta !!!!! WAAAAAAAH !!!!!!!!

The Liberals and the Tempest in a Tar Pond
Holy inquisition. What Harperland Voodoo is this?
David McGuinty is being
Ontario Liberal MP David McGuinty apologized Wednesday and resigned his post as the party’s natural resources critic after he said Alberta MPs need to take a nationwide view of energy policies or go home.
While the Cons wank themselves into a frenzy, or swing from the rafters of the House of Commons like a pack of horny monkeys with blue behinds, so inflamed is their outrage.

The Con Bullies and the Dead Children
Three days ago hundreds of people gathered to remember Port Coquitlam teen Amanda Todd.
She would have been sixteen next week, but she killed herself last October after two years of being bullied and cyber-stalked.
It was a beautiful ceremony, both sad and inspiring.

The Many Faces of Stephen Harper
Oh boy. Colour me purple. I see that some professor has finally figured out what I've known all along.
Stephen Harper employs a small army of people to try to make him look pretty.
The Cons and the Gaza Horror
It was the bloodiest day so far in the living nightmare that is Gaza.
More rockets, more bombs, more horrifying violence.
First there were six ambulances, one after the other, unloading the bodies of men identified as militants, at least two of them decapitated. Then came three more, this time with children, dead and wounded. Another ambulance rushed in, then quickly sped back out. Even the medics unloading the bodies grimaced.
More dead children.
The conflict between Israel and Gaza militant groups has claimed the lives of at least 23 children, according to the Palestinian Centre for Human Rights, innocents cut down in a battle they barely understand.
Hundreds more have been injured. And for those children who escape the physical toll of the war, there is a heavy psychological price to be paid. Many are traumatised by what they see and hear, terrified of a relentless air campaign, and unable to process the violence and death that surrounds them.
And as the horror continued, and diplomats struggled to restrain both sides, where was John Baird, our Minister of Foreign Affairs?
Delivering this pathetic speech.
Hamas is targeting innocent civilians with an onslaught of rockets. It’s a despicable act of terror, and yet, as Israel responds, as it has every right to, it is the target of condemnation. Canada, however, stands by Israel’s side.
I have never been prouder to be a member of Stephen Harper’s team; I have never felt a greater honour.
For he cannot even restrain himself. He would sound giddy, even at a time like this one. He can't tell the difference between a diplomat and a cheerleader. And like every other Con he'd play politics with tragedy.
Oh boy. Remember when we were known for our peacemaking skills? Remember when we were able to bring even the most bitter enemies together? Remember when we were proudly independent, not stooges of a belligerent foreign regime.
How low have we fallen.
Welcome to Con Canada.
Welcome to poor Gaza...

Why Stephen Harper is no Economist
Oh well. At least now we know why Stephen Harper is in such a hurry to sell us out to foreign interests eh?
It turns out it's because he took the slow boat to China.
A confidential government document obtained by CBC News warns the Harper government has been slow to open new markets in Asia, leaving Canada firmly tied to the troubled U.S. economy for a long time to come.

Robocalls: Is the Con Story Crumbling?
Ever since the robocall scandal began the Cons have always claimed that if there was a "problem" it was a small one.
It was limited to the Guelph area, the work of a rogue operative or operatives, and that people only complained AFTER the election was over.
Because you know the Lieberals made them do it eh?
But unfortunately for the Cons, we now know that's not true. The complaints started flooding in BEFORE the election.

Gaza:The Horror and the Hypocrisy
It couldn't be more horrible. Or more familiar.
Bombs raining down again on a tiny enclave where more than half of its residents are children.
Or more grotesque.
The Hamas fanatics playing into the hands of the fanatical Netanyahu regime, by firing off rockets, with or without warheads.
The Netanyahu regime with its "surgical strikes," claiming the lives of more innocent victims.

Watch a Con Minister Being Coached to Lie
I've always believed the Cons are a cult, where the truth means nothing, and the Big Lie RULES.
A cult where Con operatives tell Ministers what to do and say.
But never to my knowledge have they been caught on tape lying like thieves.
Now watch this shocking video, and the "education" of Maxime Bernier.
The Robocall Scandal Heats Up Again
Ring. Ring.
Hello.
Is this Pierre Poutine?
Why do you ask?
Remember the movie The Postman Always Rings Twice?
Yeah. Why?
Because do you hear that ringing sound? My dark cockroach. It's Elections Canada.
In the Court of the Con Clowns
According to a recent poll only about 16 percent of Canadians now trust Stephen Harper and his insane Con clown posse.
And who can blame them eh? Because today was such a three-ring circus it really makes you wonder whether they are mentally fit to remain in office.
First Great Economist Leader rolled into Quebec City in his
Only to run over Jimbo Flaherty.

Gaza: When the Horror Returns
When I watched the news tonight I felt like running down to the beach in my pyjamas, climbing the tallest sand dune, and screaming at the crescent moon.
No...no...NOOOOO!!!!! Not that violence, not that horror, not Gaza. Again.
Israel's aerial bombardment of Gaza has intensified after it authorised the call-up of 30,000 army reservists, amid reports of a possible ground offensive... At least 18 Palestinians in Gaza have been killed in Israeli airstrikes, including children, and three Israelis have been killed by Palestinian rocket fire into southern Israel.
Not more rockets and bombs, not more dead children...

Stephen Harper's Stealth Attack on Medicare
Oh boy. Trying to keep up with Stephen Harper these days is like trying to keep up with a pickpocket working a crowded railway station.
Or a pimp working a Republican convention.
One moment he's selling us out to the Chinese Communist Capitalist Party. The next moment he's preparing to sell us out to the Europeans and Big Pharma.

When Religion is Murder
Almost every day of my life I read about the cruelty of religion, its ignorance, its bigotry, its barbarism.
But most of the time I just shake my head and don't say anything.
For what's the point eh? People will believe what they want to believe, there are many decent religious people, and since I have seen how it can comfort the dying, and those who love them, I try to ignore its atrocities, and keep my mouth shut.
But not today. For this is murder.

Jim Flaherty and the Slash and Spend Cons
Even in a place as scary as Harperland, it was a frightening sight.
Jim Flaherty holding his head in his hands, delivering his budget update to the
Trying and failing to explain why despite the way he is slashing jobs all over the country, the deficit just keeps getting bigger.
Stephen Harper and the Teabaggers
OK. Let me get this straight. The Republicans are still in shock.
The crazed teabaggers are threatening to rip the GOP apart.
Wednesday, the political direct-mail pioneer Richard Viguerie gathered a group of disenchanted conservatives for a news conference in Washington. Calling Romney's loss "the death rattle" of the GOP, Viguerie, chairman of ConservativeHQ.com, said, "The battle to take over the Republican Party begins today."
Or demanding to secede like the slave states of the old Confederacy.

Harperland and the Big Pig's Baby
OMG. In the darkness of Harperland I sometimes can't decide whether it's like living in Orwell's 1984, or on his Animal Farm.
Or both at the same time.
But what I do know is that it's a scary place.
Where the truth is what Big Brother says it is. The Big Pig from the grubby vote buying Porky Action Plan just had a baby.
And now its squealing message is coming at us from all directions...

Stephen Harper's Disastrous Tour of India
Well I see that Stephen Harper's Great Samosa Tour of India is finally over, and that it was a complete and utter disaster.
As well as the most outrageous use of the taxpayer's dough abroad since Bev Oda bought herself a $16 glass of orange juice in a London hotel.
Gay People and their Straight Friends
I've been so busy celebrating Obama's big victory, that I haven't been able to do this story justice.
For it too was an amazing victory, and a tribute to all those gay Americans who never gave up the struggle despite one bitter defeat after the other.
Never gave up spreading the word that marriage equality is a human right.
And love is love...
The Con Teabaggers and the Youth Vote
Oh boy. I know I shouldn't gloat about what happened to Mitt Romney and his Teabaggers, who were soooooooo sure they were going to win, they are now in a
state of shock and awe.
Or in the sixth stage of the five stages of grief, and in terrible, terrible pain.
My noble companion Sébastien says gloating is like kicking a bully in the head after knocking him out. And of course he's right eh? I don't do that anymore.
But it's sooooooooo hard !!!!

Harperland and the Con Teabaggers
It was such a beautiful day. After the greyness caused by the tail end of Hurricane Sandy, the sun shone brightly in a clear blue sky.
And it felt so great, especially after Obama's amazing victory, which made me feel happier than I've felt for a long time.
Until I remembered that I'm still living in Harperland.
Until I heard this new Con attack ad...

Mitt Romney and the Con Cicadas
Oh boy. I don't know how to say this, but I feel I almost owe Mitt Romney an apology.
For while it's true that he's a shameless huckster who lied so much he almost fooled enough Americans into making him President.
Which scared the bejeezus out of me eh?

Obama and the Wailing of the Cons
Wow. What an amazing night. It's hours after it ended and I still can't believe it.
How Obama knocked Mitt Romney off his White Horse, and sent him back to Bain Capital riding backwards on a burro.
For as even David Frum admitted "This isn't a reaffirmation of the status quo. This is a Republican thumping."

Stephen Harper's Scary Samosa Tour
I must admit that when I first saw this picture of Stephen Harper and his wife strolling in the deserted grounds of the Taj Mahal, my heart almost skipped a beat.
Because I'm such a romantic eh?
Until I found out that thousands of tourists and others were chased out of the place by whistle blowing guards, for either posing a threat to his life, or threatening to ruin his perfect photo-op.
And that he is apparently so scared of the Indian people, he packed his own tank.

Mitt Romney and the Mormon Question
Lordy. I must admit that I didn't think Mitt Romney's deep involvement with the Mormon Church should be an issue in the U.S. election campaign.
For compared to all his other liabilities, and character defects, or his many crass sermons in the Temple of the One Percent, it seemed so trivial.
And besides in religion-crazy America, what's one more homophobic, women hating faith, or cult?
But now after watching this video I feel I might have made a big mistake.

Mitt Romney and the Zombie Apocalypse
It's hard not to see what's happening in the United States as anything less than a slow-motion horror show.
A nation reeling from the catastrophe of Hurricane Sandy.
A presidential election too close to call.
National opinion polls suggest the race for the popular vote in Tuesday's election is so close that only a statistically insignificant point or two separates the two rivals.
And an ever mutating Mitt Romney threatening a Zombie Apocalypse if he loses.

Ashley Smith and the Cruelty of the Cons
I think this image will haunt me forever.
The image of a bound, hooded, 18-year-old Ashley Smith being duct taped into a seat on a plane.
Like she was some kind of dangerous terrorist on her way to Guantanamo.
When she was just a poor mentally ill teenager on her way to one of the nine Canadian prisons she was held in during her short life. Before she choked herself to death while her guards watched, and did nothing.

Stephen Harper's Halloween Nightmare
I'm quite sure that when he was a callow youth Halloween was Stephen Harper's favourite holiday.
A day when he could bully and scare other kids to death, and get away with it.
Just like he now horrifies decent Canadians, every day of the year.
