When I see Jason Kenney wearing an oil pimp hoodie to a Grey Cup game, to try to score cheap political points.
And ignoring all the boos.
Or when I see him reviving the tradition of a Christian prayer breakfast.
I can't help thinking that he's acting more like an American than a Canadian.
And I worry when he travels to places like Texas.
It was all so predictable. Take a religious fanatic who is always raising his arms to the sky as if he was doing God's work.
Add to that a far right extremist with a forty-year chastity vow, who represses himself as he would repress others.
And it should have been obvious what could happen, if you give Jason Kenney too much power:
He'll go hog wild.
Jason Kenney has been the unquestioned ruler of the cowboy province of Alberta for only a day, and already he is trying to break up the country.
Demanding that British Columbia give him his pipeline or else.
Premier Jason Kenney has touched off a legal battle with British Columbia after his new Alberta government proclaimed a bill that could block oil and gas exports to the West Coast, prompting B.C. to file court action.
While so far treating his arch enemy Justin Trudeau with kid gloves.
Well it's the night of the Royal Wedding, and maybe a little dress up, and a little Vaseline on the lens, will make Jason Kenney feel better after his bruising bout with Justin Trudeau.
Where he insulted Trudeau in the most queenish manner, by claiming he had the political depth of a "finger bowl."
Only to have most observers empty the dainty finger bowl on his tinsel tiara.
And have Justin Trudeau leave him looking more like a drag queen than a real one.
Or whatever...
I have followed Jason Kenney's long and sordid career for years, and I have watched him disgrace himself over and over again.
In Ottawa he was appalling, in Alberta he is threatening to be even more deplorable.
His ugly outbursts are legendary.
And his latest meltdown couldn't be more disturbing.
I have no idea where Stephen Harper is or what he's doing. He hasn't tweeted a word for 48 hours. His squawking Twitter site has suddenly gone silent
But I bet that cartoon is a pretty good representation of his state of mind.
Because he must be absolutely desperate.
After rolling along for months like Cinderella in her golden pumpkin, suddenly EVERYTHING is going wrong.
And he must be a REAL mess.
Well let's face it, it's not a great time to be an Albertan. Their Great Leader Stephen Harper's oily obsession with creating a Greater Albertonia his leading them to disaster.
Once they were living high off the bitumen, and lording it over the rest of us. Now the wheels are falling off their monster trucks, and they're heading for a recession.
But when they look around for somebody to blame, maybe they should take a close look at their House of Harper and it's warm relationship with the House of Saud.
Because then they might ask themselves, as Jeffrey Simpson does, why are they supporting those who are destroying their economy?
It could only happen in Alberta, the land of cowboy Steve and not so Big Oil, Canada's Banana Republic.
Where the leader of the opposition, after attacking the Con government for five years, and trailing them in the polls by only five points.
Has suddenly decided that if you can't beat them, you should join them.
And is apparently leading half her Wild Hog Party back to the trough.
He was warned, but Stephen Harper wouldn't listen. Warned that he should not put so many economic eggs in one oily basket.
He was warned that the future would be green, or there would be no future. So it made no sense to turn us into a tarry petro state, and even less sense to torch the planet.
But he was a climate change denier and an oil pimp, so he muzzled his critics, and pressed on ahead in the name of Greater Alberta.
And now the oily basket is bouncing on the sidewalk, and the oily messiah just got dinged by reality.
As you may know, I have for many years portrayed Tom Flanagan as Dr Strangelove.
I've always considered him a bizarre right-wing crank, and Alberta firewall separatist.
I never understood why the CBC hired him, and then didn't fire him after he said Julian Assange should be murdered.
So I'm not really surprised by his latest outrageous statement.
Damn. Even after studying them for years, I don't think I'll ever really understand the true horror of Stephen Harper and his Con zombies.
I know they're an alien right-wing strain. I know they're political thugs who lie all the time. I know they're the stooges of foreign interests, and foreign governments.
I know they shame us in the eyes of the world. But why do they always go after the CHILDREN?
