If there is an enduring image of Stephen Harper's grotesque regime I suppose it will be something like that one. A lot of Con hogs heading for the trough, or trying to buy an election. And sticking the rest of us with the bill.
As you know I have been frantically searching for Stephen Harper all over Canada and the United States. And I've even adjusted my missing wanted poster to reflect how he looked when he was spotted outside a Shake Shack in Las Vegas. With a weird smile on his face, several days of stubble, and a baseball cap pulled down over his nose. But so far no luck. And no sadly this was not him...
As I mentioned in my last post, Stephen Harper and his criminal Con gang now seem to have a triple-edged strategy. They are going to try to cripple the opposition by extending the campaign. They are going to use the financial advantage that gives them by bombarding us with their porky ads. Even if it costs taxpayers millions of dollars. And of course they are going to use our money to try to buy the election. But even by their grubby standards this is outrageous.
Well there he was in Saskatchewan yesterday, looking as ghastly as I have ever seen him. Announcing his plan to shrink the Senate by attrition. Prime Minister Stephen Harper is vowing not to make any more Senate appointments, in an effort to distance himself from the scandal-plagued Red Chamber and to goad provinces into agreeing to reform or abolish the discredited legislative body. But since I don't care what happens to the Senate, all I could think of was why is Stephen Harper looking so beaten? When a new poll suggests that his sleazy plan to buy the election is working.
Well there was Stephen Harper yesterday, looking and sounding like a sleazy used car salesman, declaring it was Christmas in July, and feverishly trying to buy an election. And in all the years of writing about him and his corrupt, morally depraved regime, I don't think I've ever seen a more disgusting spectacle. Two days ago in this letter marked "confidential" he was urging his caucus to look like Con Santas, and lie like thieves. Let me be perfectly clear: if Justin Trudeau and Tom Mulcair form the next government, they will take these benefits away from families, raise taxes, and put Canada back in a cycle of spiralling deficits. We only have to look at Greece to see where that plan leads. And yesterday, in a what was called a "special message" by his propaganda machine, there he was in all his greasy glory...
I don't think I've ever seen such a scary tricycle scene since the famous one in the horror movie The Shining. You know this one. Pierre Polievre aka Mini Harper or Dickhead, pedalling furiously all over Canada pretending he's Santa Claus. And that it's Christmas in July.
As I'm sure you remember, the last time we dropped in on Pierre Poilievre aka Pee Wee or Dickhead, he was posing with a pile of child care benefit cheques at a printing facility in Winnipeg. Just to let millions of Canadians with children under eighteen know that the cheque was almost in the mail. And that it pays to vote for the Harper Cons. Wink. Wink. Which was such a sordid spectacle, it was practically pornographic. Well guess what? It just got worse.
As you may remember, when I last dropped in on Pierre Poilievre, I found him wandering around at a clothing sale in an Ottawa hockey arena. Making a vanity video, desperately trying to buy votes with the Con's so-called Universal Child Care Benefit. And even more desperately trying to do something, ANYTHING, to try to fix his terrible popularity problem. But since that was never going to work. They don't call him Pee Wee or Dickhead for nothing eh?
I see he's taken his desperate search for love to a whole new and low level.
As you probably know Stephen Harper's Cons have been in a feverish, grunting frenzy recently. Running wildly all over the country, spewing our tax dollars out of every orifice, in a blatant attempt to bribe voters, and try to buy the next election. But although Canadians have seen this disgusting spectacle before, in the lead-up to an election it looks even worse. And as John Ivison points out, this porky act just might cost Stephen Harper the next election.
We know the Canada Revenue Agency was given extra money by Stephen Harper to go after the political activities of registered charities. We know that the agency seems to be targeting groups that have dared to criticize government policies. But not right-wing organizations that support the Harper regime. But is the CRA now helping to spread Con propaganda?
Well as you may have heard Joe Oliver went missing from the House of Commons for almost a month. And on the few days when he did turn up, he seemed as Ralph Goodale described him, both "puzzled and muzzled." Staring into space while others read his PMO talking points. And while his aides insisted he was thinking about his long delayed budget, or searching for the surplus he gave away before he had it. Others wondered whether he was having some kind of breakdown. Or as Rick Mercer suggested, just doing nothing...
It seems only appropriate that the only thing Stephen Harper tweeted yesterday, was a little video of himself learning the proper way to pour beer in Ireland. Because I'll bet Great Leader was pouring himself more than a few last night, after what had to be an absolutely disastrous day for him and his ghastly Cons. The day when his campaign of fear and bigotry came back to bite him. And he shot himself in the foot.
As I'm sure you know, Stephen Harper has been under a lot of stress recently. The economy is tanking, he blew the surplus before he had one, only the dumb and the crazy believe that he is still a Great Economist Leader. And that's driving him CRAAAAAAZY. So when the time came for him to return to Parliament yesterday, his faithful fanatics in the PMO prepared this little Twitter video to cheer him up.
Stephen Harper has spent more than a billion dollars on porky ads trying to brainwash Canadians, with their own money. He has tried to hypnotize us into believing that his is a good government, and that he is a Great Leader. Even though he is the worst leader of the worst government in Canadian history. And his totalitarian porky ad campaign is not only a sinister assault on our democracy, on a scale never seen before. One that would make even the original Big Brother envious...
It's also an appalling waste of money, and blatantly fraudulent.
We know that Stephen Harper is spending hundreds of millions of dollars of OUR money to try to brainwash us into thinking that he's a Great Leader. We know that those porky ads are nothing but propaganda to try to bribe voters. As this excerpt from his latest YouTube channel production, starring the oily Con man Joe Oliver, makes only too clear...
But what every Canadian also needs to know is that these ads are not just sleazy and immoral. They are also an assault on the rule of law.
Well I see Stephen Harper is leaving the country again today, this time to attend the Francophone Summit in Senegal. Which as you may or may not know is the greatest collection of corrupt dictators in the whole wide world. But that's not the only reason he's going. He is no doubt also fleeing Canada so he doesn't have to answer any more embarrassing questions about his latest and most disgusting Porky Action Plan.
We knew it was just another extravagant photo-op, a chance for Stephen Harper to pose as a Great Strong Leader and a Great Explorer. The man who found the remains of the Franklin expedition, and told Putin to take a hike...
We knew he made an absolute fool of himself. We knew he managed to spend a week in the Arctic without ever mentioning the words climate change...
Which takes a certain skill. The kind they teach you in prison. But holy moly poley bear, who knew it was so EXPENSIVE !!!!
As you know, I had a little fun yesterday with this latest Porky Action Plan ad, produced and directed by the Con Ministry of Propaganda and Disinformation. Because it's so misleading, so obviously partisan, such a blatant attempt to brainwash Canadians with their own money. I simply can't help myself...
For how else are you supposed to react to such totalitarian propaganda? Except laugh in the faces of those who made it.
When I first heard the rumours that Stephen Harper was about to go for a walk in the snow. Or whatever. And announce that he planned to step down in the New Year, I must admit I was stunned. It just didn't seem to make sense. His fear campaign is boosting his polls, the unemployment rate is down, he's planning to spend billions of dollars bribing voters. He's just launched this new Porky Action Plan campaign...
Aimed at brainwashing Canadians with OUR money. And of course, he was the abominable star of the recent G20 summit...
So why would he choose to quit NOW, and give his job to Jason Kenney?
It looked like a remake of the 1950s TV show Dialling for Dollars. Or one of those Christian TV programs where the lame are made to walk. But it was only Stephen Harper strutting around a stage in a Jewish school in Julian Fantino's riding. Announcing plans to buy the next election.
