The Ghastly Bigotry of the Con Clown Larry Miller

In a country where a Prime Minister is fanning the flames of racism.

And his Cons are dividing up the country between "whities" and "brown people."

In a Canada where too many have forgotten that diversity is strength.

This is what you get, the Reform bigot Larry Miller.

A Conservative MP has apologized after saying women who want to wear the face-covering niqab during citizenship ceremonies should “stay the hell where [they] came from.”

“If you aren’t willing to show your face in a ceremony where you’re joining the best country in the world, then frankly … stay the hell where you came from,” he said.

You can listen to the interview here if you can bear it:

And you don't have to read between the lines to figure out that Bubba Miller is not really sorry.

In a statement released Tuesday, Mr. Miller said some of his comments were “inappropriate.” “I stand by my view that anyone being sworn in as a new citizen of our country must uncover their face. However, I apologize for and retract my comments that went beyond this.”

And neither is the PMO.

Carl Vallée, a spokesman for the Prime Minister’s Office, said Mr. Miller’s comments went “beyond our clear position.” Mr. Miller’s comments went further than Prime Minister Stephen Harper, who said last week that the niqab, a face-covering veil worn by a small minority of Muslim women in Canada, was “rooted in a culture that is anti-women.”

Because Larry is known as the Keeper of the Flame.

Believe it or not.

And here he is three years ago comparing the gun registry and its critics to the Nazis...

Which should tell you all you need to know about him.

And of course Stephen Harper and his racist gang aren't sorry because they know that most Canadians are on their side

Two-thirds of Canadians oppose allowing women to wear the face-covering niqab during citizenship ceremonies, a new poll by Forum Research suggests. The public opinion survey, conducted Friday and Saturday, found that 67 per cent of respondents oppose the idea, while fewer than a quarter (22 per cent) are in support. Ten per cent are undecided.

And they're hoping to ride this issue to another bloody majority.

And the good news?

So far at least it isn't winning them votes.

“We can’t say that the niqab controversy has damaged the Liberals, but it has clearly not helped the Conservatives. While Canadians agree the niqab has no place in citizenship ceremonies, they do not find it offensive, either to themselves or to the others,” Forum Research president Lorne Bozinoff said in a statement.

Bozinoff went on to say that given the niqab issue directly affects only a small number of Canadian women, it will be little more than a side issue in the general election this fall.

And since many new Canadians will interpret Miller's comments as also aimed at them, it may actually hurt the Cons in the next election.

So in the end this ghastly bigot will not get his reward...

But it is yet another reason we must get rid of him.

Before he torches our values further.

And degrades everything he touches...

  1. When I read what this "man" had to say today, I was totally disgusted! Another Canadian Disgrace! Anyone who would vote for the likes of this, really need their head examined!

    1. hi Kathleen...yes he is a beast isn't he? I honestly don't know how anyone could vote for him. I read a letter from someone who lives in his town who claims he has a gay son, but has disowned him, and made sure that he isn't included in family photos. I don't know if that's true, but quite frankly I wouldn't be surprised...

It's true. I don't know his son personally, but everyone who does says he's a fantastic person. If you look at the numbers, Owen Sound didn't vote for Larry Miller. Just like Toronto and Rob Ford, it was the people outside of town who voted him in. They're not all like him, but I would bet money that the people who agree with him have never met a Muslim, or a gay person. I'm sure they're very nice people most of the time, and most of them would probably smarten up if they could see the pain they cause with their ignorance. It's still a bit scary living in a town that had a protest march when the town hall put a rainbow flag in their window. Canada's national KKK headquarters used to be near here, and I wonder sometimes how many of their members have moved away. At least Miller's idiocy has made it more obvious that there really is racism in Canada. This could give us a better chance of fixing it. Good luck, Canada. We're going to need it.

    1. hi Omar...I see you're your usual cheery self. ;) But now I realize it's not your daddy duties, it's the WEATHER !!!! And quite frankly I don't blame you. The Harper regime AND the Snowmageddon, it's enough to bring anyone down. But don't worry, the bigots are dying off and we will defeat the Cons...

  3. Why do I get the feeling that Harper and his cons are testing the water to see how far they can go with this bigotry and to see how it plays with the public.

    1. hi Pamela...everything the Cons do is calculated, and you can be sure they are carefully calculating the effects of their bigotry, and looking for other wedge issues to use to divide Canadians. The problem is that the Miller eruption and the words "you can go back where you came from" doesn't play well in a nation of immigrants., and it may already be hurting them...

He's my joke of an MP, in a very diverse riding, you should hear the crap that comes out of his mouth. I don't know how he continues to get elected, he actually garners more than 50% of the vote. He doesn't represent the majority of voices of Bruce Grey Owen Sound.

    1. hi anon...I've visited that area and it is very beautiful, so I'm quite sure he doesn't represent the people who live there. It's our divisions that allow people like that to be elected, and we really need to do something about it....

    1. hi anon....yes it's a pity that the Question Paeriod cameras don't linger longer over that section of the Con back bench. The Harperites stack the area around Great Leader with women and others. But if you look at the Cons they are the worst collection of good ol' boys our parliament has ever seen...

But if the poll is right, it isn't just gently deflating it's falling like a stone. Which is of course great news because without Harper has nothing...

Secondly, you're only proving our point: Bil C-51 is dangerous and must be scrapped. Thank you. And thirdly you forget that we are the ones who are going to use the law against YOU. We are reading your mind already, and we don't like what we see... ;)

Let the trained seals that bark and clap on command to the Harper Imperium dissolve back into dust like mighty hide in the closet non-leader Harper.

  10. Harper LOVES wedge issues, and the niqab issue is a vote getter for the Cons.

But what is missing in all of this is background info that most Canadians are unaware of:

    1. hi David....you're right, it is a very powerful wedge issue. Seem people in this country seem to have swallowed the Con line that you can't wear certain things while taking an oath, which is absolutely insane.
Or we have diversity in this country or we don't. And where to people get off telling others what to wear. They only time I've ever done that is to tell one of my nephews to pull up his jeans at the back when he is out in public with me or ELSE... ;)

  13. The issue isn't about niqabs. Its about being a female and deciding what to wear for yourself. Its about being able to practice your religion/culture.

if these Cons think its all so anti-female and they're so "pro female" why did harper and his cons defund womens groups as soon as they came to office. Why did harper and his cons decide the abortion pill needs 4 yrs of study when its been approved in 60 countries and been in use in France since the 1980s. if harper and his cons aren't anti-female why won't they spend a nickel to even fund police departments for cold case squads to look into who murdered 1,200 Canadian First Nations women.

If harper and his cons are so Canadian value, then why did they claw back money from the RCMP budget to fight child porn? or is fighting child porn not a Canadian value or is it more important to fund tax breaks for the harper style base of middle or upper income families, with two parents.

these con hacks don't like women who are part of this century and want to be able to exercise their rights to live their lives as autonomous humans.

    1. hi e.a.f...I've always felt that Stephen Harper gets a perverse pleasure pushing women around or humiliating them. And this latest incident only confirms that belief. The fact that we are spending so much time talking about niqabs, when we have so many other problems, is simply insane...
