Doctors Refuse to Join The Con Campaign Against Justin Trudeau

The other day I wrote about how horrified and disgusted I was to see Stephen Harper's Cons trying to use doctors to attack Justin Trudeau.

By inviting them to endorse an anti-marijuana ad campaign clearly designed to reinforce their own filthy and misleading attack ads.

Well now the country three main medical organizations have delivered their answer: no thank you Great Leader.

The main groups representing Canadian doctors have declared they will not participate in Health Canada's upcoming anti-drug campaign targeting young people.

“The educational campaign has now become a political football on Canada's marijuana policy,” said a joint statement released Saturday by the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC), Canadian Medical Association (CMA) and Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. “We did not, and do not, support or endorse any political messaging or political advertising on this issue.”

And not only is it a massive slap in the face, it also pulls the slimy carpet out from under the Con campaign.

Because now the Trudeau Liberals can point to that statement to claim that their attacks on his marijuana policy are politically motivated, and have nothing to do with the health of young Canadians.

And that this grotesque ad is nothing but partisan pornography...

Which can only make the Cons look even more sleazy and disgusting. If that's possible.

And leaves me wondering how on earth did the Harperites ever think that they could get away with such a scummy scheme? Whatever gave them the idea that they could degrade doctors so foully?

And the only thing I can think of is that they must be really DESPERATE.

And that the PMO must be in the hands of the young Con fanatics, who are steeped in the toxic culture that Chantal Hébert warns us about here.

To work in federal politics these days is to breathe in partisan helium 24/7. Short-term strategic gaming matters more than long-term policy outcomes and consensus has become a poor cousin to finding a wedge to pry voters off a rival.

In public, that translates into a culture of mutual disrespect that is on exhibit daily in question period. In private, it leads to an adversarial climate that makes it easier to rationalize making the most of the grey zone between what is ethical and what is legal.

For Hébert might try to make us believe that the other parties have a similar problem. But everybody knows that the ugly fanatics who work for Harper are in a category of their own...

Because he made them in his own image, nobody stoops so low, and they are capable of ANYTHING.

Which can't help but make me wonder who was responsible for this sinister break-in?

Ottawa police and the RCMP are investigating after vandals broke into the home of Liberal Party leader Justin Trudeau. Trudeau confirmed on Saturday his home in Ottawa’s Rockcliffe neighbourhood was broken into overnight while his wife, Sophie Grégoire-Trudeau, and their children — Xavier James, Ella-Grace and Hadrien — were asleep inside.

Why did they do it? What did they take? And what if anything did they leave behind?

Which is a horrible thought.

But only reinforces what I have said for so long, during this seemingly endless struggle to get my country back.

We will not be safe and we will not be clean.

Until this ghastly leader and his little monsters are finally defeated...

that went over well with the doctors. Guess they aren't too happy the National Health Accord hasn't been signed yet, not to mention some of them are scientists and doctors, who have concluded weed can be helpful for some medical conditions.

Oh, well I'm sure harper and his herd will find a way to get even with the drs. On the other hand, the herd might want not to piss off their doctors too much.....

The break-in at Trudeau's home - is this the Harper Conservative's "Watergate" moment? (Probably not. But, interesting to speculate, eh?)

hi e.a.f...I'm a bit of a thorn in the side of the country's big medical organizations. I find they are too timid about proposing changes that would modernize and improve our health delivery system. And not aggressive enough about standing up to the Cons sneaky assault on medicare. But I have to say I'm proud of them tonight...

hi UU4077...I don't know if it's a Watergate moment, but there's something deeply disturbing to know that one or more intruders were moving about the Trudeau home while his wife and children were sleeping, and Justin was not there. It doesn't strike me as a robbery, it sounds like something far more sinister. What would have happened if he had been there. We need a massive police investigation, we need to arrest those responsible, and we need to make sure that the opposition leaders are properly protected...
