The Ukraine Crisis and the Absurd Con Clowns

Someone recently compared the Ukrainian crisis to the beginning of the First World War.

Where new alliances, old hatreds, and excessive nationalism created an explosive mixture until one act of senseless violence set the whole thing off.

And this couldn't be a more a dangerous showdown.

So needless to say I'm not happy to see that Stephen Harper is still planning to visit Ukraine.

Still threatening to inflame the situation.

In his relentless pursuit of the Ukrainian-Canadian vote.

Still posing as a champion of democracy in that country, while suppressing it in Canada, and ignoring it in others.

He supports the Ukrainian popular revolt that toppled a corrupt president. But he did not back the popular revolt in Bahrain against an autocratic king, or the historic uprising in Egypt against the corrupt and brutal autocrat Hosni Mubarak. In fact, he backed the Egyptian army when it toppled the democratically elected president Mohammed Morsi last year. The coup restored “stability,” Harper said.

That’s what Putin said, too, in embracing Egyptian strongman Gen. Abdul-Fattah el-Sisi. Putin is at least consistent — he has no use for democracy in either Egypt or Ukraine.

Unless of course he can use a crisis to win some ethnic group's vote.

As valid as his criticisms of Russia’s outrageous actions have been, his pronouncements are clearly not designed to carve out a constructive role for Canada but rather tailored to elicit applause at home from Canadian Ukrainians — just as his piano-playing gig in Israel reduced the prime minister to an entertainer desperate to please his audience.

For in pursuit of that him and his Cons will do or say ANYTHING.

Treasury Board President Tony Clement took to social media Thursday to let his 37,400 followers know he’ll be presenting the Ukrainian flag in his riding of Huntsville, Ont. Only trouble was it was upside down.

Because they are Con clowns.

But of course the really alarming part is that Harper belongs to a church that believes that the Russians will play the bad guys in the Battle of Gog and Magog.

You know this one...

Believes that the world could end tomorrow.

And that's a good thing...

So he doesn't really care what happens in Ukraine. For him and his religious base it's a win-win situation.

But of course we do eh?

And all I can say is that the sooner we get rid of those Con clowns, and their maniac leader.

The safer the world will be...

It is quite bizarre with oil can going to the Ukraine to "speak up" for democracy when he continues to impede it in Canada. Corruption in Canada--O.K. Corruption elsewhere--bad. Actually oil can needs to understand no one is paying attention to him, not even those people in Canada of Ukrainian descent. They may well be more interested in what he is doing in this country to them. Some may ask how many Armed Forces members of Ukrainian descent committed suicide because there wasn't proper care. How many scientists of Ukrainian descent lost their jobs or had their research eliminated. How many people of Ukrainian descent lost their jobs due to oil can insistent goal of signing more free trade agreements. The list can go on. the Cons have no answers.

What is going on in Ukraine is awful, but Harper going there won't solve anything. It will in fact create problems because the government there will have to provide security for him and that takes away time and effort from other more important things, like trying to keep their country secure.

We can only hope some enterprising Russian takes Harper prisoner and keeps him there. Harper will soon realize no one cares about him. No one will do anything to have him released. The same thing he did to other Canadian citizens who are being held in other parts of the world.

That is Harper and the conservatives; always trying to look like they are doing something without ever doing anything at all - aside from dismantling civil society.

Harper going to Ukraine under the current climate shows his total lack of judgement. Earth to Pudgy, they don't need you getting in the way you idiot, besides, the scarf already got the million dollar shot a couple of weeks ago didn't he? Were you hoping to get another bird sanctuary named after you? A statue maybe? I hope Obama gives him a swat upside the head and tells him to stay away.
Your in way over your head Harper so park the jet and try practicing democracy at home for a change.

hi e.a.f....please don't raise our hopes.Even the Russians don't want him, because as you know there is only room for one Putin. ;) It is all just posturing for votes, and the only thing we can hope for is that Harper doesn't get carried away and inflame that dangerous situation further...

hi anon...you got it, everything is propaganda and illusion. Posing as champions of democracy while dismantling it in Canada. They really are the absolute limit, con artists every one of them...

hi anon...yes I remember that story and how quickly Harper backed down, and how pale he looked. Putin is a pee wee but Harper is a sorry fraud. I've watched video of him playing street hockey and it was hilarious...

hi anon...I'm glad I'm not the only one who feels that the last thing this crisis needs is a shabby politician like Harper stirring things up for the sole purpose of winning votes back home. Once upon a time we might have been able to de-escalate the situation, but thanks to Harper and his gang we have no credibility left. Also remember that before he became Prime Minister Harpo had hardly travelled abroad, so his foreign policy expertise is dubious at best. And the hypocrisy of posing as a champion of democracy while suppressing it in Canada is shameless and laughable...
