BREAKING: Stephen Harper Nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize !!!!

OK. I realize you are staring at that headline in disbelief. And wondering whether I've finally lost it.

But then so am I eh?

And I wrote it.

Because as bizarre, or as horrible, or as insane, or as obscene as it may be, it's true.

With recent developments across the globe posing new and difficult challenges, only one leader, Prime Minister Stephen Harper, has maintained the moral clarity needed to face them, says B’nai Brith Canada.

“Moral clarity has been lost across much of the world, with terror, hatred and antisemitism filling the void,” said Frank Dimant, CEO, B’nai Brith Canada. “Throughout, there has been one leader which has demonstrated international leadership and a clear understanding of the differences between those who would seek to do evil, and their victims.

“In accordance with the rules of the Nobel Foundation it gives me great pleasure to nominate in my capacity as Professor of Modern Israel Studies at Canada Christian College, Prime Minister Stephen Harper for the Nobel Peace Prize in honour of the outstanding moral leadership he has demonstrated.”

But you know even after reading that story I STILL can't believe it.

Not Stephen Harper.

Not Great Warrior Leader....

The chicken hawk who never saw a war he didn't like, unless or until it cost him votes.

Not that nasty little ape who is trying to inflame the already dangerous situation in Ukraine for crass political purposes...

Even if it leads to a superpower confrontation, or the Third World War.

I mean gimme a break.

But then you have to take this nomination from where it comes from. From Frank Dimant, the conservative CEO of the increasingly conservative B'nai Brith organization.

And Harper's good buddy...

Who recently accompanied Great Messiah Leader on his outrageous junket to the Middle East...

And who teaches at the Canada Christian College.

Whose President is Charles McVety...

You know, The Big Bloater.

The one who once claimed he could get Harper on the phone quicker than a cabinet minister...

The so-called Christian Zionist and notorious anti-gay BIGOT.

Who among other things believes that the End Times are almost here, and will arrive shortly after the Battle of Gog and Magog...

Where believe it or not the Russians play the bad guys.

The Bloater who along with Dimant and others likes to visit Israel and express his strong views on settlements in the occupied West Bank.

A big chunk of the pastors’ trip is being spent in Shilo and Ariel, which according to McVety are not Jewish settlements in the West Bank. “First of all, they’re not settlements but towns and villages,” he said. “Second, this is Judea and Samaria, not the West Bank, and to say that a Jew cannot build a house in Judea is stupid, moronic and anti-Semitic.”

So it's not hard to figure out why Stephen Harper is being nominated for the Peace Prize.

For his unconditional support of Benjamin Netanyahu's settler regime.

And I mean unconditional...

And for cheering so loudly as Benny's Death Machine rained bombs, missiles, and shells down on Gaza...

Causing massive destruction, killing more than 2,000 Palestinians mostly civilians and many of them children, and wounding and traumatizing tens of thousands of others.

And then followed that up by refusing to allow wounded Gaza children to be brought  to Canada to be treated in our hospitals...

Some leader, some peacemaker, some MORAL CLARITY..

Oh boy. I could go on an on about Stephen Harper, the man so obsessed with war he has tried to turn Canadian history into some kind of warlike drama. when in fact it's the triumph of our genius for peaceful compromise.

And he's against that eh?

But what's the point? When Stephen Harper stands as much chance of winning the Nobel Peace Prize as Joseph Stalin.

And he was nominated TWICE !!!!

So I can only imagine how the Nobel Committee is going to react when it receives his nomination.

I can just hear them now...

Stephen Harper for the Nobel Peace Prize?

You gotta be kidding.

Hey wait, if Harpo can have one I want one too !!!!!!!

Me....Me.....Me !#@!!!!!

Gee Simon. Maybe you got Steve all wrong. Maybe he was right when you said he was wrong. Nah, Steve is still an asshole.

  2. hi anon...thanks for the link. I'd never seen that video and I thought it was brilliant. And you know I think the Asshole Factor (AF) does explain some of Harper's bizarre behaviour. I think he does do things just to piss people off or hurt them. It appeals to the bully in him. Or the beast. But having said that I think asshole is far too polite... ;)

I am stunned. It must officially be 1984 as there is no other explanation. Harper for Peace, LOL.

    1. hi anon...yes I admit I was stunned too. And yes Con Canada is definitely a combination of 1984 and Groundhog Day, with a VERY large hog waddling around on its hind legs. Although as I have mentioned before I wish to apologize to the real hogs, because they definitely are smarter and cleaner than your average Con...

Hopefully they know that they are setting him up for embarrassment at the committee which decides these things. Obama was leader of the most powerful nation, so they had to kind of acknowledge that. Harper, not so much. Oh well, it will give some of the members of the committee a good laugh, eh?

    1. hi anon....indeed, I understand the members of the Nobel committee are a pretty stoic bunch, but Harper's nomination should have them rolling on the floor. After they've googled his name, because Harper's actual impact on the world stage has been greatly exaggerated...

The only thing wrong with Harper is he hasnt loaned more money to Israel so they can buy more bombs to finally eradicate the Hamas pestilence from the face of the earth.........
    Yup thats what I said.
As for the Nobel Prize.......who gives a shit? Ever since Obama got it BEFORE he became president....Lets call it for what it is.......political grandstanding.
    a joke.
    a waste of everyones time.

    1. hi anon...I hold no brief for Hamas. I support the Palestinian Authority and am speaking out for all the innocent people Netanyahu and his settler regime killed for no good reason. And will be forever held responsible, hopefully in a War Crimes court. As for the Nobel Peace Prize, the Obama nomination is definitely debatable, but Harper's nomination is just a farce...

I dare say that one of the main reasons Canada hasnt allowed palestinian kids into Canada for medical treatment would due to the lax immigration refugee laws set up by the Liberals in the 1980's that permit anyone, even illegal aliens, the right to apply to stay once they set foot in Canada.
Thank former lawyer Trudeau senior for that wonderful law that has kept lawyers busy and rolling in money for the last 30+ years.
And since no other country would accept these little ragamuffins because, lets face it, Palestinians are loathed everywhere they go because they stir up so much shit when they get there. Just ask Kuwait during the first Gulf War. the Palestinian workers helped Suddam Hussein after he invaded. When the US push Husseins troops out of Kuwait 9 months later. It was a bloodbath for the Palestinians left there. Kuwaitis paid them back for their treachery and deported the ones that survived. Jordan keeps palestinian refugees on a short leash . As does Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Libya, Lebanon, etc. Everywhere they go they stir up shit..... They have themselves to blame for their 60 years of misery but they're too stupid and stubborn to figure it out.
Let them rot in the misery they have brought upon themselves.
Long live Israel, the only true democracy in the middle east.

How do ya like them apples Simon :)

    3. Anonymous8:48 PM

Absolute rubbish, demonising Palestinians, when the real devils live in Israel, a country which should have no right to exist, but be eradicated like cancer.

    4. Anonymous4:23 PM

Well, I guess history can easily be supplanted by the propaganda machine I power. Israel is to democracy as Hitler is to Judaism. Palestinians stir up shit? Intriguing! Have not the Jewish gypsies be expelled from EVERY single country the tried to inhabit since the got expelled from their homelands before the Christian era? That must be because they are such a peaceful and friendly people. Like the orthodox Jews on Montreal island that kick out sales persons that cater to gentiles.

  6. When Lester Pearson won the nobel peace prize for originating and initiating a solution to the Suez canal crisis. A crisis that could have led to the third world war Canadians felt very proud. Harper would never win the nobel peace prize, but his being nominated makes Canadians feel disgusted and embarassed. Pearson was a sophisticated, scholarly diplomat, the go to guy at the UN. Harper is a dogmatic hick .

  7. I really wonder about the motive of Israel in it's fawning recognition of Stephen Harper whether it's naming a bird sanctuary in Israel, after him, contributing to the recognition of him receiving the World Statesman of the Year award in 2012 and now the nomination for the Nobel Peace Prize from the CEO of The B'nai Brith organization. All of this because of his unquestioning support of Israel's occupation of Palestine, along with their destroying of Palestinians homes and confiscation of Palestinian land to then build Israelie settlements on and now Netanyahu's bombing and military attacks on Palestinian men, women and children. This is what Harper is applauding and for this he is being nominated for the Nobel Peace prize. I'm sensing something insincere about Dimant offering this nomination though. Israel has Harpers complete blind support, so why the need to placate
or reward him. Netanyahu and his government and key supporters like Dimant do not do anything without thought out stategies to achieve approval in what Israel is doing in Gaza. I'll take a flying leap and say I think Dimant and Netanyahue and the Israelie Gov. want to manipulate the Canadian public in the hopes of getting Harper voted in again in 2015. I have no proof of this, but the Israelies must know how badly Harper is doing in the eyes of most Canadians. I find the nomination to not only be bizarre but also highly suspect. Pearson's solution to the Suez crisis was a well thought out and executed peaceful solution. The key word there is peaceful. Harpers support has always been of a military solution. I'm sure Canadians for the most part are rolling their eyes about this nomination.

    1. hi Pamela...yes Lester Pearson was a decent man and a great Canadian. And the idea that somebody could nominate Harper for the Nobel Peace Prize is nothing but an obscene joke. And since Frank Dimant is a old Con, I wouldn't be surprised if that absurd nomination was choreographed by the PMO to try to make Harper look good. If so, judging by the comments here and elsewhere, it's not working. Since most Canadians are reacting with shock and outrage, rolling their eyes as you say, or just laughing their heads off...

    2. Anonymous12:05 PM

Stalin was nominated twice for the Nobel peace prize?

    3. Anon
I didn't know that. Do you know who nominated him?

  8. I thnkaboot a lot things and this one never crossed the threshold of reality. I tried to pick an appropriate post to express my feeling. I have not got one and may never have but try this.

    1. hi steve...I think you forgot to add a link. But yes, I think that nomination crosses the threshold of reality into the realm of pure insanity...

  9. e.a.f.1:46 AM

I think I'm going to be sick. What idiot would even think of harper and peace in the same sentence. harper and a piece of shit, maybe. Next we will be hearing Putin has been nominated or hey maybe ISIS, etc.

    1. hi e.a.f...I don't blame you for being sick. Not only is the nomination obscene, it shames us all in the eyes of the world...

Surely, I am now in the Land of Oz.
