It's the one question Andrew Scheer would rather run away from than answer.
For he knows that if Canadians ever learn the truth very few of them would vote for him.
But his dark secret will not go away.
And Michael Coren is the latest to ask this burning question.
It was one of the worst political moves in modern Canadian history. Elizabeth May's decision to hire Warren Kinsella to run the Green Party's War Room, or as she prefers to call it the Zen Room.
And it must have cost the Greens tens of thousands of supporters all over the country.
But at least we can now say this:
May's fling with The Prince of Darkness may have been shocking.
It's not easy to get back to the sweltering heat of the city after spending two days sailing through the coolest part of Lake Ontario, far from the madding crowds, and our increasingly grubby political scene.
But if I have to get back into the political arena, and I do because my holiday is over and the election is now just twelve weeks away, this story will do just fine.
It's been an amazing summer so far in the place where I live. And now that I'm on holiday I've been trying to enjoy every minute.
The blue sky days, the warm breezes, the childhood memories of the days I learned to sail in a far off land.
The lazy afternoons at the island beach where I can lie in the sun, and have the luxury of time to really think about where this country is going.
It's hard to believe that only a month ago I was hoping that Elizabeth May and her Green Party would do well in the federal election.
Win a few more seats to help push the Liberals in the right direction, and boost the fight against climate change.
But not any longer.
For first came Warren Kinsella.
In my last post I looked at the sad case of Michelle Rempel, and what her new American husband thinks of Canada.
Which isn't very nice, but Rempel still thinks is hilarious.
So I thought I'd share what some Canadians think of her and her husband.
As you may know, I'm not a member of the Michelle Rempel fan club.
I consider her one of the most aggressive members of the Con cult. She's always making wild accusations, and complaining that Alberta is getting screwed by the rest of Canada.
She insults the Prime Minister all the time in the most vulgar manner.
Her YouTube channel is a real horror show.
It's been two days since Andrew Scheer appeared before a Dairy Farmers of Canada convention in Saskatoon, declared war on Canada's Food Guide.
Conservative Leader Andrew Scheer says the new version of Canada's Food Guide is 'not based on sound science,' will hurt the dairy industry, and would be reviewed if he becomes prime minister.
And suggested that he knew more than scientists, as only Canada's would be Trump could.
Or as only a Con clown could...
For more than two years Andrew Scheer has been screeching and wailing about how the Canadian economy is an absolute disaster.
And of course accusing Justin Trudeau of "failing" about ten times a day.
But he won't be able to do that any longer without looking even more like a Con clown or a sad little maniac.
Two days ago Andrew Scheer was finally forced to answer questions about what he thought of Donald Trump's racist remarks, and it wasn't a pretty sight.
He hummed, he hawed, he fidgeted like a fish on a hook. He looked really uncomfortable.
And now we know why.
For while Scheer called Trump's comments offensive, and divisive.
He's now playing the same dirty old game.
We already knew that Andrew Scheer has no respect for science, for if he did he would never have come up with a fake climate plan designed by and for Big Oil.
Or rejected the idea of carbon taxes over and over again, despite what Nobel prize winners have to say about them.
But now as he grows more and more desperate, he's claiming that he knows more than scientists.
There can now be no doubt now that Donald Trump is a foul bigot, who is disgracing himself and the office he holds.
There is no doubt that whatever he says he is racist to the bone.
But what I also find interesting is how political leaders in this country reacted to that sordid episode, because I think it says a lot about them.
In my last post I looked at a new poll that suggested that 60 per cent of people in Ontario now believe that Doug Ford's government is corrupt.
And how the stench of that corruption was dragging down Andrew Scheer's numbers in that province.
But that same poll also has some more bad news for Ford and Scheer.
I don't like to brag, but even before he became Premier I predicted that Doug Ford would lead his government into the swamp of corruption.
There was just something about him that screamed "SCANDAL!!!"
Or Con HOG!!!
I see Justin Trudeau has taken part in the Calgary Stampede festivities, trying to make friends in a province where so many hate him, as he has every year since he became Liberal leader.
But this year one thing was different.
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau sounded the Liberal rallying cry Saturday as he split time between flipping pancakes and speaking at a private event where he said the rest of the country hears Alberta’s turmoils.
But notably, for the first time since he was elected prime minister, Trudeau didn’t venture down to the Stampede grounds, opting for smaller events in front of friendly crowds instead.
And who can blame him, or his bodyguards?
As I said in my last post, Elizabeth May's decision to hire the toxic Trudeau hater Warren Kinsella is one of the most bizarre political decisions in modern Canadian history.
And tweets like this one only make it sound crazier.
For asking Kinsella not to be offensive or insulting is like asking a pit bull or a hyena to be happy on a diet of lettuce and tomatoes.
As I've mentioned many times I've always liked Elizabeth May. She always struck me as the kind of decent politician I admire.
I liked her so much that I would have been quite happy to see her and her Green Party prop up a Trudeau minority government if that turned out to be the election result.
But not any longer, because this is shocking.
It's called "conversion therapy" It's a pseudo scientific practice that uses high pressure psychological techniques to try to turn gay people into straight ones.
Some call it "pray away the gay" because of the many religious fanatics who spend their time trying to "save" LGBT people from themselves.
But in most cases what it amounts to is nothing less than child torture.
A recent Hollywood movie called Boy Erased, is based on a true story, and makes that only too clear.
Andrew Scheer has rarely looked and sounded so desperate. The creepy smile is gone.
He's making wild promises.
Even ones like that one that could kill thousands of Canadians, from babies to seniors.
And I can only imagine what Scheer and his ex-Rebel campaign manager Hamish Marshall must be saying or screaming to each other as the wheels seem to be coming off their campaign.
They are two of the most disgusting politicians this country has ever known, but their love for each other knows no bounds.
They are both climate change deniers who are willing to torch the planet for crass political purposes.
They are both brutish bullies who get a special thrill going after LBGT children.
And now it seems both are auditioning for the roles of tin pot dictators.
I see Andrew Scheer has been playing cowboy, and flipping pancakes at the Calgary Stampede.
And although I'm sure Scheer was happy to be half a continent away from Doug Ford and the stench of Con corruption, he must also be hurting inside, and increasingly desperate.
Just a few weeks ago it seemed he was heading for a crushing Con majority, and on the verge of being able to impose his deranged Scheeria law on Canada.
Now not so much.
Believe it or not, Andrew Scheer is now trying to pose as a tough guy, in a desperate attempt to make Justin Trudeau look weak.
Even though Trudeau makes Scheer look like a yappy Con chihuahua.
The one they call Weak Andy, who would embarrass us on the world stage, by talking big, carrying a small stick.
And looking and sounding ridiculous.
I have never understood why the Cons and other toxic Trudeau haters get such a perverted pleasure going after our prime minister and his family.
But I do know it's not healthy, I do know it's not Canadian.
I do know that this is the kind of horror show you get when you let those haters poison our country.
As we all know Donald Trump has a special attraction for dictators. He likes to hang out with them, and share intimate moments with them.
And who can seriously doubt that he would LOVE to be one?
So when six months ago he tweeted out this announcement:
His terrified White House flunkies scrambled to pleasure him.
It was a chilling example of what might happen if Andrew Scheer's sinister Con cult is allowed to spread fake news, in a crude attempt to influence the result of the upcoming election.
Just like Donald Trump and his henchmen did in the United States.
An example that began with a truncated video clip put out by Global News, and was quickly picked up by the grubby Con propagandists at the obscenely named Canada Proud.
