Has the Con Media Finally Realized The Bestiality of Andrew Scheer?

Ever since Andrew Scheer became Con leader, the shabby Con media in this country has been heaping praise on him.

Encouraging his hatred of Justin Trudeau, ignoring his many lies.

Licking him like a lollipop, in what has to be one of the most disgusting spectacles in modern Canadian history.

But now at last that might be changing.

For it seems that Chantale Hébert at least, has finally discovered that we have a Trumpling in the house.

There was a time when a rookie leader of the official opposition, fresh from scoring his first big electoral goal, would have used his moment in the sun to showcase his prime ministerial credentials. Now is not such a time.

Alas for those who tuned in to question period last week to size up the leader who aspires to replace Trudeau in a little more than a year, Scheer was apparently not in the mood to audition for the job of the prime-minister-in-waiting.

A man who rather than deal with the many problems facing this country at a dangerous time like this one, would rather spend his time attacking Trudeau and his family.

And lying like a thief.

Scheer spent his four last questions of the spring sitting on what he portrayed as the latest token of Trudeau’s propensity to spend taxpayers’ money on a lavish lifestyle.

Except that the prime minister paid for the swing set. When he leaves his current post, he is expected to leave the play structure behind. Who knows, Scheer’s children could be using it a couple of summers from now.

And that's it's not an isolated incident  just the latest example of Scheer's long history of depravity.

Over Scheer’s first year as leader, the Conservatives have become more and more comfortable with misrepresenting major government policies. They are not just taking short cuts with reality. They are leading their target audience astray. They apparently could not care less about being called out on the distortions. When it comes to not letting facts get in the way of a good story, some of the party’s literature would make a bottom-feeding tabloid green with envy.

And even though Hébert leaves out some of Scheer's other most recent dubious accomplishments.

Like his shameful coddling with racists in her home province...

As I pointed out here.

Some of her fellow Con media cheerleaders seem to agree with her.

And all I can say is, what took you so long you shabby Con collaborators?

Why did I and so many others see what you couldn't or didn't want to see?

Why did you do so much to help the ghastly Scheer?

And what are you going to do now, denounce that depraved Trumpling like he deserves to be denounced?

Or keep sucking that Con lollipop until it runs down your face?

Oh well, I guess better late than never.

And the other really good news?

It seems that Canadians have also seen enough of Scheer and his ugly Cons, and after a brief surge their polls are heading south.

The latest Nanos federal ballot tracking has the Liberals at 36.7 per cent support, followed by the Conservatives at 32.0 per cent, the NDP at 20.6 percent, the BQ at 3.6 per cent and the Greens at 5.7 per cent.

You know, if there was any justice the Con media would go down with Scheer and his ghastly gang.

For they have both betrayed their country.

We will never forget that.

And they will never be forgiven...

A little (actually, very -- indeed, shamefully) late to the party, but hopefully Justin Time to see the Rebel traitors go down in flames. The reason they didn't say anything sooner is obvious: they are the tabloid bottom-feeders, and they courted this asshole and his Internet troll mob for ratings, ad revenue and whatever other benefits they felt they could score from it. Sound familiar?

Now they look south of the border and see that no matter how much the M$M sucks up to Trump, he still calls for their heads for not clapping loud enough for dear leader like only Fox, Breitbart and other right-wing sycophant propaganda trash have done since day 1. He said it loud and clear: he wants North Korean style hero worship at the barrel of a gun. But the American infotainment press will continue the call for "civility" and "both-sides debate" right up until Hair Drumpfsterfire feeds them to a wood chipper or marches them before firing squads. Isn't it ironic, as Alanis Morissette once said, that it's the Democrats calling for "politeness," as the Canadians tell the Trumpists downstairs and in their own backyard to fuddle-duddle and stick-a their swastikas where the sunny ways don't shine!

The U.S. rags -- and I include such formerly reputable outlets as the WaPo and NYT in that category -- have hit rock bottom with their addiction to "access" and the appearance of being "unbiased". Canada's hacks appear to be waffling a bit before going off that cliff, and are self-protectionist enough to at least open up to the possibility of entering rehab. Andy's declaration that he would axe the CBC news division must be what woke them up. The thought of either being fired or answering to Ezra Levant as chairman of the board is probably what shocked them out of complacency. For now, at least.

If/when Trudeau wins in 2019, we'll no doubt see them back on the wagon drumming up animosity and serving up nothingburger scandals for ratings juice. But for right now, it looks like they're hoping to give themselves a stay of execution. If the only way to do that is by offering an olive branch to Trudeau and the Liberals, then that's what they're going to do. But I don't expect a very Canadian "sorry" coming from them for the damage they've already done, and I'm sure Trudeau doesn't either. We know who's the better man.

Now, if only the next few years brings the demise of Shitpost Media, a major housecleaning at said CBC news division, and a crackdown on Internet troll activity and unacceptable hate-mongering and lies, things will get a lot better in the nice apartment upstairs. Can't say the same for the U.S., sad to say. Oh, well. I'm sure some of us will be setting up our tents somewhere north of the maple curtain eventually, whether through legal channels or outright desperate fleeing in the middle of the night. Because it's 1933...

That Nanos poll is really good news. The Con media has been telling us that Scheer was ahead in the polls and that Justin was doomed. And that was before Chantal’s article was published. I wonder what her media buddies are going to say now?

I think Herr Harper is going to attempt a comeback, please please so delish.

Chantal Hébert is Franco-Ontarian, not Québécoise. She speaks about this often. She was born in Ottawa and brought up in Toronto, attending francophone schools.

I'm personally sick of the Conservatives. All they offer in the trade war with the United States is to capitulate to Trump. And the conservative media (CTV, Global and Postmedia) in this country offer nothing but doom if we don't give in. Just give in for the almighty dollar and Trumps fragile ego.

Simon what is going on? I never know when your posts are going to appear, Why can’t you publish them at the same time in the morning so I can read them with my first coffee of the day? I’m sure you have a very good reason but I thought I’d ask anyway. ❤️🌈

Media brought Trudeau down in the polls and now they will be nicer so they can keep the race close. If he wins and the cons get a trump type leader, they will pour on the hatred so much in their quest to get clicks and ratings. Fuck the con media.

Glad to see the polls rebounding back, and they'll only climb once Mr. Trudeau steps up on a (sweltering, announcing 40+ with Humidex so stay hydrated, folks!) sunny Parliament Hill on Sunday and announces you can finally toke without retribution.
Meanwhile, the rudderless, thoughtless, gormless CONs are grasping at straws, unknowing that straws are, as they are, falling out of fashion.
The MSM will try with all their might, the QC branches are already touting Scheer as the champion of ethno-nationalism (read M. Bock-Cote sometime, as close to an apologist for La Meute as you'll ever see, shudder...) and beating the oh-so-dead India horse again.

But they cannot and will not win...they must be swept aside like one of Michelle Rempel's wine burps...and only then will the filthy CON beast be tamed. Who will be the next CON leader? Rempel no doubt, with the MSM wailing about how progressive she is...while she blocks all of Twitter.

It certainly took a long time but finally Chantal and others stated the obvious... the Cons including their leader have been running a fact devoid political attack campaign since the last election. Why did it take so long... why now? One possibility is that the media was just duplicating the trending "news" with the highest viewer rates on social media. The number of views and followers on some of the Trudeau bashing sites seem to be down significantly, possibly because Google has shut down some of the amplification scams they were using to push trends or perhaps Scheer shot both of his feet off when he axed Mad Max, a true hero of the populist movement. Many now view Scheer as a Trudeau knock off ... how fitting! Whatever the reason hopefully it will only get better when MSM discover that Scheer bashing could double their readership.

Hebert has always been the smartest of this particular group. She is correct. don't think I'd consider this group, the con media, because over the years have seen them take huge swipes at Harper. Perhaps scheer was give a period of grace and now time is up.

The media most likely have seen Scheer is not up to the job and is now making that clear to others

For the true Con media, if they ever want the Cons to return to government they are going to have to find a new leader. Scheer is simply too petty and some media may be scared shitless by what they have seen in the u.s.a. and don't want anything resembling right wing Cons in government.

Trudeau already said legalization isn't fully in place until 17 October. (Due to some particularly stubborn provinces dragging their feet.) The rest of your post still applies though. Particularly as the U.S. slides further down the fascist drain, Trudeau (just by being himself) looks more and more like the complete 180-degree antithesis of Trump, and the cons have no choice but to get dragged along with the orange hate-monger lest they alienate "the base."

I dunno about Rempelthinskin, though. She's a temperamental airhead who's just not ready for much of anything besides rehab and reality TV. So who's left if Android Sneer and his cyborg chipmunk should crash and burn, and the cons don't try to play the fake-feminist card by running one of the Manson girls against Trudeau? Ezra himself no doubt would love the thrill of jumping in the squared circle to mud-wrestle with the object of his obsession, but he'd be even more poisonous to the "brand" as party leader than he's been as their de facto PR hack, that the cons would completely disintegrate and cease to exist. Fine by me, but I'm sure not something that Herr Legoführer wants to see.

Which leaves an unusual but not impossible scenario: Jordan Peterson deciding to throw his sailor hat in the ring and run for con captain next time around. And why not? No one expected the Trump inquisition either. He's chomping at the bit with political ambitions of his own, and now he's trying to keep his name in the papers by filing suit against Laurier U. over (ironically) faculty members saying things about him that he doesn't like. That asshole is a bona fide silver-tongued cult leader who'd have all of Canada boiling in a lobster pot if an asteroid should hit and he ever be able to form a government. Then again, apparently he's so persona non grata in Canada that he'd be lucky if he doesn't get run out of a Red Lobster like Sarah Huckabee got run out of "Red Hen." Although by that time, with any luck, his 15 minutes in the slow-cooker might thankfully be up.

In any event, we can all agree that the multi-headed con beast or sea creature absolutely must be tamed. With sincerest apologies to the serpentine dame of Loch Ness, who doesn't deserve comparisons to such blue meanies on the land.

I'd say they were finally shamed into admitting the obvious, Simon. Scheers fact deprived attacks on JT have come home to roost and Canadians have had their fill of his bullshit.
Their base may grunt and squeal at all the attacks but the base will never be enough to win which is fitting for a bunch of losers who believe anything that Schmear utters.

Hi Jackie...I also believe that at time when the right is running rampant, civility has its limits. I try to be as polite as possible, and avoid vulgarity, but any thought of taking into account what Trump and his Trumplings have to say is out of the question. Too much anger can be self defeating, but not enough of it can lead to slow surrender. I also don't believe that the Con media will ever see the light, because their bosses will support anyone who promises to cut their taxes, and that's all the Cons stand for these days. The good news is that Trump's economic policies may provide a short term boost, but will not work in the long run. And as soon as the shadow of a recession falls across America, Scheer and his little Trumplings will be totally discredited, and run like groundhogs into their burrows, never to emerge I hope for at least a generation...

Simon said...

Hi anon@6:23PM....Yes, the Con media had been using Scheer's supposedly rising popularity to all but write Trudeau off. So this is most inconvenient. Scheer is still stronger than he deserves to be, but only because most Canadians have no idea who he is and what he stands for. So the more we can do to reveal the man behind that creepy grin, the better off we'll be. Especially since the Cons are now so desperate they can only look even more like rightwing extremists, and dig their own graves...

Simon said...

Hi Steve...Harper is everywhere these days, and I don't think anyone can rule out a comeback attempt, especially if Scheer crashes and burns. But on the other hand he has a new book out, and maybe all he is trying to do is sell more copies. From what I ear it needs all the help it can get...

Simon said...

Hi lagatta...whatever, I'm off the old school that celebrates French Canadians as well as the the Québécois and Québécoise. And she has done the cause of decency in this country a big favour, by criticizing the disgraceful way Scheer has been behaving, albeit way too late...

Simon said...

Hi Frank...I know how you feel. I too am disgusted by the way some Cons seem to be urging that we surrender to Trump, which I would rather die than do. If we have to take an economic hit so be it, there are more things in life than money. And if Trump hurts us, he will also hurt himself and his chances of winning the next elections in his country, so it would be more than worth it...

hi anon@8:16 PM...Sorry, I should have explained why my posts have been appearing later in the day than usual. I've been unusually busy at work filling in for a sick colleague as well as doing my own job, and I have had less time to blog since I have to get things organized before I leave for Scotland. I'm afraid that when I'm in Scotland by blogging time will also be disrupted by the time difference. But hopefully when I return things will get back to normal. Thank you for your patience...

Simon said...

Hi anon@9:49...I don't think the Con media will ever be nice to Justin Trudeau. They are the most useless collection of losers I have ever seen, they live in the Ottawa bubble, and their bosses want Trudeau brought down so Scheer can cut their taxes, and privatize everything. But remember, these days we too are the media, and there are enough of us to let those Cons know exactly what we think of them...

Anonymous said...

Jackie where did you learn to write so elegantly? Do you mind if I ask what your background is?

Simon said...

Hi Pierre...yes, it is good to see Justin Trudeau bouncing back in the polls. I was sure he would eventually recover from the job the Con media did on him during his visit to India, if anything I'm surprised it took so long. Like you I am disturbed to see the way Scheer is playing footsie with La Meute, but I don't think he will get anywhere with that except in the Quebec City region, and once the rest of Canada realizes what's going on he stands to lose a few feathers. I am concerned about the situation at our borders, especially with Trump now completely out of control. But I am looking forward to taking on those scummy Cons in the next election campaign, and hopefully burying them once and for all. As for Rempel, I would welcome her as a candidate, for she would surely fail, and the wild and bitter drinking sessions that would ensue, would be most entertaining... ;)

Simon said...

Hi Jackie...I also feel that Jordan Peterson is champing at the bit, and ready to throw his hat into the political ring. Which I would welcome for it would just about finish off the Cons. He would be their Howard Beale, and with that weird voice of his would have most sane Canadians rolling on the floor with laughter...

Simon said...

Hi RT...I think the only reason some in the Con media seem to be waking up, is that Scheer's lying nose has become too big to ignore. But yes, why on earth did it take them that long, and what do they intend to do about it? Will they take a closer look at who exactly is responsible for all those outrageous fact free attack ads, or will it be business as usual? I have also noticed that the number of followers on the Trudeau bashing sites has dipped considerably. Like you I attribute this to Google and Twitter seeking out fake sites and bots and shutting them down. But I also think that even those dumb Cons have realized that Trudeau is doing a good job of dealing with Trump, and that Scheer's attacks on him are starting to look a little too treasonous. Poor Scheer, he must be truly conflicted. He would be our Trump, and yet the Orange Oaf is killing him...

Simon said...

Hi e.a.f...I am less charitable than you. That At Issue group never attacked Harper like they have attacked Trudeau. And nothing can excuse the fact that they have let Scheer get away with one big lie after the other. The only way they can redeem themselves is if they go after him and demand that he explain himself, and I very much doubt that will happen...

Simon said...

Hi Steve....they all slant right, but all things are relative. And in that regard Hébert is (slightly) better than the rest of them...

Simon said...

Hi JD...I think you're right. They were shamed into admitting the obvious. Although I'm not optimistic that they will now take this story further and do the fact checking that is required. It's so much easier to please their bosses by finding any excuse to attack Justin Trudeau. Still, the good news is that the Cons are now in a frenzy, and making all kinds of outrageous comments all over the internet. The hideous Rachel Curran for example has been making the wildest allegations, and seems just about ready for a strait jacket fitting. So I wouldn't be surprised if the Con organization suddenly implodes, and wouldn't that be a lovely sight? ;)

@anon 8:19 -- I've always been a precocious reader and something of a wordsmith. I don't have a background in journalism or anything, just an ordinary liberal studies B.A. But I've always had a soft spot for Canada since I was a kid (on the other side of the border) raised on Nelvana cartoons and Raffi's music and message of kindness. My mother was a Kindergarten teacher also. And Mr. Rogers, I found out recently, had a contemporary up north called Mr. Dress-Up, Ernie Coombs, who is as much a beloved icon there as Mr. Rogers is here. Justin Trudeau, I notice, has a similar personality to the man in the cardigan sweater, which is no doubt why he was such a natural as a schoolteacher himself, and why he has such a passion to defend those most vulnerable, especially children.

So when I see angry right-wingers trying to take down the "nice apartment upstairs," as Robin Williams once referred to Canada, it certainly gets my energies up to retort against them in whatever way I can. :)
