As you know I have been steadily losing confidence in the RCMP, which I now frequently call Harper's police.
Not because I'm anti-police, I'm not.
But because I can't help feeling that its bosses have turned it into a tool of the sinister Con regime.
And as you know I also believe that if Harper isn't defeated, and his totalitarian anti-terror law Bill C-51 isn't killed, he will use it to turn this country into a police state.
And this small story couldn't hold a greater warning.
For not only is it a horrifying tale of child abuse.
An Ottawa courtroom was silent and the judge at one point shielded his face from onlookers as videos of an 11-year-old boy naked and restrained in the basement of his family's home were shown at the trial of a former Ottawa RCMP officer and his wife.
The five videos, made one month before the couple was arrested in February 2013, were seized from the father's cellphone. They show the small boy, breathing heavily and looking gaunt, with his ribs sticking out. In the videos, a man is heard repeatedly taunting and humiliating the boy, who was tied to the basement wall.
One of the worst bully stories I have ever read.
This little paragraph buried at the bottom of the story jumps up at me:
Police sources previously told CBC News the man was a member of the force's counter-terrorism unit.
And can only make me wonder what might happen if a man like that enjoyed the powers provided by Bill C-51? And might be able to interrogate suspects in so-called safe houses far from the prying eyes of lawyers and the media.
And what kind of a society might we end up in?
Because that has always been Bill C-51's biggest flaw. There isn't enough oversight to make sure that our Canadians values are respected.
The Con regime's anti terror laws have hardly been discussed during this campaign. But they should be.
Because Stephen Harper is dangerous, and so are those laws.
And the sooner we get rid of both of them.

These so-called "likes" weren't necessarily purchased from shady operators.
It could be something as idiotic as adding javascript on page you control.
The CPC home page calls a script.js file time-stamped 27/08/2015. It seems to be some kind of manager for video content. On first inspection, I see that it intercepts mouse interactions, and contains links to FB, Twitter and co. That could warrant further investigation, but I don't have time for forensics.
