The Day the Con Media Exposed Its Shameful Bias

When Doug Ford announced that his campaign bus would not be followed by another one carrying the media, there was a chorus of complaints.

But as I wrote the other day, Team Harper is running the Ford campaign.

And it seems that the situation is even worse than most had imagined.

For while the Harperites are trying to limit access to Ford, as they did when they were working for Great Fallen Leader.

It appears they are travelling around with at least one media organization in their pocket.

It would have to be the trashy tabloid the Toronto Sun.

A three-page document shared with us by a tipster outlines what appear to be the Sun’s plans for covering the upcoming provincial election. It is headed, appropriately, “Toronto Sun Provincial Election Plans,” and sets out a detailed strategy to take on the Liberals.

It couldn't be a more outrageous example of the Con media's political bias.

And this kind of garbage couldn't be more reactionary:

No government in the history of Ontario has done more to undermine diversity than Ontario’s Liberals. Although they routinely virtue signal their good intentions, Ontario has never been more divided. Instead of focusing on those things we have in common, this government practices race, gender and sexual politics for ideological and political gain.

Or more bigoted.

But while some members of the media have criticized this blatant bias...

None of Postmedia's columnists like John Ivison or Andrew Coyne have bothered to write a line about the corruption in their own company...

Which tells you all you need to know about them, and Paul Godfrey's morally depraved media organization.

But then of course I suppose we shouldn't be surprised, when Godfrey has made his bias clear before.

Kory Teneycke, Ford's campaign manager, spent years working for Sun TV News.

And the Toronto Sun's editor-in-chief Adrienne Batra was once Rob Ford's press secretary.

But it is all more evidence of what can only be described as a conspiracy to elect Cons in this country.

It tells us that the Con media in this country is slowly but surely destroying our democracy.

And above all it makes it only too obvious, that the sooner Postmedia is dead and buried the better...

Boycott the Toronto Sun.

Defeat Team Harper and this political thug.

Before he corrupts us further...

Regardless of who wins the election what the heck are we going to do about Ontario's debt? Hundreds of billions and no end in sight.

It's hard to boycott a paper I've never bought. As a kid, I used to help myself to copies on the way to school out of the box at the corner that never shut properly, but I've never paid for one. It's pure garbage and always has been.

Kory Teneycke has to be one of the biggest and slimiest losers ever. According to his Wikipedia page he tried to smear Jack Layton for having visited a massage parlour, and was even thinking of firing half the employees at Sun TV News and replacing them with Cons. So you can imagine how low he could go with a person like Doug Ford.

Simon Alberta is the next big hit for Harpo and company with the "Little Trumpling Boy Jasson Kenny. He is so mechanistic he counts how many times his name has been mentioned in the Fall section "209 times" There seems to be an Ideology the Cons are trying to take to a new level. this level supports irrational politics that undermine what little democracy we have left.Watching BC Albt Fed.question periods is an eye opener. All three Opposition parties have nothing constructive to promote on behave of their parties or constituents, that said the con constituents love this its like the Colosseum days the way they want to tear the heads off the parties in power. At best they throw half truths and Fake News and stall stall stall as the norm now and people are lapping it up. Harpo and Company with Trumpling Boy Jasson Kenny,( has to be seen to be believed )and we mustn't forget the Rich American Republicans Supporters of Harpo's. The Alberta NDP will find it hard to compete with the brainwashing being done. The Cons may use Dough Ford Campaign to fine tune for Alberta. Though they seem to be starting off Fords the way they finished with Harpo's. The different flavor of politics is cherry picking Trumpology. It is very scary What these culprits want and how they are finding the ways to do it. We can't count the electors to vote the in the best interest of ??????

You can be sure if some newspaper had put out the same kind of memo supporting the Liberals or the NDP, ivison and Coyne would be all over it like flies on shit. Their silence is shameful and shows what cowards they are. As you say, the Con media really has corrupted this country.

Seemingly guided by some invisible malevolent hand of fate the rise of the Dougie party is a perfect storm of woe. The line up is impressive; PostMedia a product of deceptive screw the little guy financial engineering,Harper's between gigs propaganda wizards, the evangelical zealots willing to back anyone who will throw them a few table scraps, the social media giants that will sell anyone with deep pockets the very best in psychologically persuasive but very deceptive political advertising. Then there is Dougie the unemployed city councilor who is the vacant crown prince of the vultures that are gathering for the feast.

The Sun, which at one time, long long ago, had a little more balanced reporting, is now nothing more than a propaganda rag for the Cons at all levels of government. Fox News North, plain and simple.
I doubt a journalism degree is required to work and "report" for them. Perhaps an online certificate from the "Kory's Allegories School of Fictional Writing" would suffice. "Today's lesson is What is Context?" A woman chimes in, "context is the circumstances that form the setting for an event, statement, or idea, and in terms of which it can be fully understood and assessed". Kory, "no no no little girl, context is text written by a Con, hahaha!"

Hi anon@11:16...In a country where personal or household debt is very high, people have a tendency to confuse their situation with a government's situation, when the two are not comparable. Ontario has a relatively strong economy, one of the best in the G7, like the country itself it's creating jobs, so debt is not a major problem, and is only used by right-wing parties to impose disastrous austerity plans, which have been shown to fail miserably...

hi anon@11:38...you and I are in the same situation. I have never bought a copy of the Sun, but I don't know what else to suggest when confronted with such naked bias. Failing that, I can only say that should Postmedia continue its demands for a government bailout, it should be told where to shove them...

hi anon@3:46...Yes, a man who was associated with Sun TV News, Ezra Levant, and the Harper regime, does wear the mark of the beast. And has among many other flaws, no regard for the truth. And the thought that he may finally have hit the jackpot, is a horrible thought indeed. He thinks he's so smart, but Ford will be his Frankenstein...

hi anon@4:33 PM...I have been putting up a graphic with Ford, Scheer, and Kenney, and asking readers to imagine what kind of Canada they might create together. And to me it would be a nightmare, and would set this country back at least forty years. Ford is heavily favoured to win, and so is Kenney. And the only good news is that if they do, Scheer's chances of becoming Prime Minister will become even slimmer. Like many people I thought that giving Harper the boot would solve our problems for at least a good number of years, but alas it wasn't enough. So we'll just have to step up the fight until the day when a new generation finally finishes off the Cons....

hi anon@5:32 PM...I spent a considerable amount of time looking to see if any of the usual suspects had written anything about the Toronto Sun's plans to work to elect Ford, but apparently all of them are too afraid to stand up to Godfrey. Their cowardice has been noticed , and they will live in infamy...

Simon said...

hi RT...It is indeed a storm of woe. And what makes it even more depressing is that Ford is supported by many new Canadians, who don't seem to understand that the Ford Nation is riddled with bigots who would send them back to where they came from if they could. Like Trump's deplorables they are easily swayed, and will in the end be bitterly disappointed. It will be a cannibal banquet from which our country may never recover. I'm not worried about my personal situation, as I have the option of a comfortable exile in Scotland, but Canada deserved better, and will have been killed by ignorance....

hi JD...the Sun is only fit to line a bird cage, and to call any of those who work there "journalists" is just a bad joke. But of course they are not alone, the Con media in this country has failed this country as well, as have those Canadians who were dumb enough to believe them. I used to think this country had a bright future, but not any longer. It was born to be mediocre, and snatch defeat from the jaws of victory...

I disagree. Our tax dollars are going towards paying interest instead of education, healthcare etc. Ontario has the largest debt per capita in the entire world. Triple the debt of California, less than a third of the population to put things into perspective.

Personal debt has nothing to do with the above.

Did you notice how the Post/Sun and the rest of the media buried the news that Justin Trudeau was named Time Magazine 100 most influential?
You can just hear inside Godfrey and the Post/Sun columnists heads, Time, what do they know? We’re in Ottawa!

hi anon@9:24 AM...It's not that simple as that, you can't just look at the raw numbers, you have to measure debt against the gross domestic product and in that respect, with a debt-to-GDP ratio just under 40 per cent, Ontario is doing fine. Also a large amount of that debt is going to pay for infrastructure, which boosts economic productivity, and increases the GDP, which in turn increases the capacity to pay taxes and pay off that debt. So please, save your simplistic arguments for the slobbering morons of the Ford Nation...

hi anon@9:24 AM...yes I noticed that, it doesn't go with the Con argument that "Trudeau has embarrassed us in the eyes of the world WAAAAAAAAH!!!" The fact is no prime minister in Canadian history has been so admired abroad, while the shabby Scheer is so mediocre he inspires nothing but pity, or revulsion....

Anon@9:24 welcome to the Simon School. Next time educate yourself or expect to be made to look even more like a moron. 😂😂😂

Anon@9:24, there are all sorts of debt. Debt because you purchased the latest trend in sports shoes, not so great. Debt because you purchased a house you can afford and will live in for years to come, more of an investment than debt,

Kathleen Wynn has tried to buy the house not the trendy shoes. when governments build infrastructure that isn't bad debt and with low interest rates, now is the time to do such work. It will only get more expensive in the future. If governments are building roads, its great because in some cities they loose billions each year because of the traffic jams. Building schools, hospitals, that ensures an educated healthy population. Ford isn't going to be building any schools and/or hospitals. He isn't smart enough.

B.C. had a Ford style government for 16 years, with the B.C. Lieberals, which weren't liberals, they were conservatives, and had more than a few harpercons and former albertacons, and we became, in my opinion, the most corrupt province in Canada. they didn't do much for children, highest poverty rate in the nation, not enough schools, the medical system deteriorated, and we're one of the premier money laundering places in the world. Go ahead vote for Ford, then pack your bags and head to another province.

Voters in B.C. finally kicked the B.C. version of Ford to the curb and elected an NDP/Green coalition. We're doing much better thank you very much. they're building new schools and hospitals.

OMG, Ford and Kenny. Of course people in Ontario can move next door to Quebec and places east and west. if the people of alberta vote for Kenny, well they will have to live with it or die because of it. They can also move to B.C.

From my experience, when Cons come to office, with them comes corruption and a waste of money. Just have a look at the Mulroney years and have a read of Stevie Cameron's book, On the Take, not much changes with Cons. The book still is a good read and it just keeps happening over and over and over.
