I must admit that when I saw that Pierre Poilievre was going to absurd lengths to avoid mentioning Sheila Fraser's name, at first I was amused.

I figured that the way she demolished his foul so-called Fair Elections Act, had left him in a state of shock, totally humiliated, and boiling with anger.

And that he was afraid that just allowing Fraser's name to escape his pie hole, might cause him to lose control.

And of course, that would be HORRIBLE....

When Sheila Fraser was the Auditor General and exposed the Liberal sponsorship scandal, the Cons were only too happy to quote her every word.

They couldn't say enough good things about her.

But not today. Today they were running for cover.

Because today she was calling their so-called Fair Elections Act an attack on democracy.

The one good thing about the foul Fair Elections Act is the way it has transformed Pierre Poilievre into a parliamentary punching bag.

Because it seems that every day somebody is taking a shot at him and his bill.

And today it was the election expert Harry Neufeld's turn to tell Poilievre to amend the bill or KILL IT.

Then the author of a report on the last election made a complete fool out of him for misrepresenting his report.

It couldn't have been a more revolting spectacle. Canada's Chief Electoral Officer Marc Mayrand called to testify before a House of Commons committee.

To talk about the foul voter suppression bill known as the Fair Elections Act, and the Harper regime's attempts to muzzle him.

Only to have the Cons try to muzzle him again, by breaking a deal they had with the opposition, and scheduling a vote in the Commons, just as Mayrand was preparing to address the committee.

Which had even the MSM gasping in disbelief.

For some reason I've always assumed that the Cons were rushing their foul voter suppression bill through Parliament, so they could try to steal the next election like they tried to steal the last one.

For why else would they be in such a hurry? Why else would they even ignore the critical comments of the Con Godfather Preston Manning?

But now Lawrence Martin has reminded me of another possible reason. They're trying to cover their asses from the fallout of the robocall scandal.

Will the Voter Suppression Act Help Bring Down Stephen Harper?

If Stephen Harper thought he could get away with his foul assault on democracy, by ramming his so-called Fair Elections Act through Parliament, after this weekend he must be having second thoughts.

Because first he got spanked by the Godfather of the Conservative movement, Preston Manning, for trying to muzzle the chief electoral officer.

And now a former chief electoral officer has pointed out yet another flaw in that anti-democratic bill.

Is the Con Speaker Trying to Muzzle the Opposition?

OK. Let me get this straight. The Con regime is planning to ram their so-called Fair Elections bill through Parliament.

A bill that is intended to suppress the vote, muzzle the Chief Electoral Officer, give the Cons a fundraising advantage, and make it even easier to steal an election, like they tried to steal the last one.

But when Tom Mulcair accuses the Cons of trying to cheat, as he did today, the Speaker Andrew Scheer says he can't use that word?

For what makes it so sinister is that it is so deliberate, and it is leading us into dangerous territory.
