With every passing day Stephen Harper and his rotting Con regime look more desperate, and more deathly.
For not only do they look like escapees from the Night of the Living Dead.
In the dying days of this Parliament, even their bills are looking like zombies.
It's hard to imagine a more outrageous performance in a Canadian parliament, or any parliament, than the one the Con MP Brad Butt offered up the other day.
By first announcing that he had "personally witnessed" people picking voter cards out of the garbage, and using them to commit electoral fraud.
And a few days later admitting he LIED.
But unfortunately for our democracy there is more than one Con clown. And the latest Con clown show stars Peter Van Loan....
It couldn't have been a more surrealistic sight. The absurd Con House Leader Peter "Tubby" Van Loan, standing behind an absurd sign, declaring absurdly that the fall session of Parliament was a huge success.
Amid calls for democratic reform from his own caucus, the Conservative government's House Leader is instead celebrating his party's legislative accomplishments - saying Canada's Parliament is working better than ever.
"We’re very, very pleased with the progress that was made in this fall session, as well as a number of the bills that were introduced, bills that made it off to committee, bills we got over to the Senate for their consideration,” he said, calling it “overall, a very, very productive year.”
Even though the Cons only passed THREE bills, the Senate scandal dominated proceedings, and their Great Leader was clubbed like a seal by Tom Mulcair over and over again.
They have turned our Parliament into a circus, and our democracy into a farce.
They strangle debate, they never answer any questions
Just repeat one Big Lie after the other.
They mock their opponents, like a gang of bullies drunk with power.
But this is the absolute limit.
If anybody still thinks that the Con regime is not out of control, the sight of Peter Van Loan in Question Period today should have been enough to cure that delusion.
For there was Tubby, as his friends call him, filling in for Stephen Harper, clutching a piece of paper with his scripted lines marked with a yellow highlighter.
Sweating like a pig, bellowing like a bull, and turning farce into satire.
Well, let's put it this way eh? It wasn't exactly democracy's finest hour.
First the Cons rolled their Trojan horse budget, packed to the rafters with non-budget stuff that will gut our environmental laws, into the House of Commons.
Then when the opposition demanded the bill be split up so it can be properly studied, James Moore, fresh from mutilating the CBC, replied by twisting stretching strangling the truth.
I used to roar with laughter when Peter Van Loan got so agitated during Question Period, he'd regularly spill his glass of water all over Stephen Harper, and would be seen frantically hovering over Great Ugly Leader, dabbing his crotch with a paper towel.
Having finally found his station in life. Until Harper fired him, and made him the Minister of Something or Other. Which also suited him fine. Because he's an idiot and he knows it.
But of course now Tubby's back as Con House Leader, he's going after the Canada Pension Plan, and he's acting like Big Bubbah.
