I must admit I was both surprised and shocked to see that James Moore has been named chancellor of the University of Northern British Columbia.
After the way he handled the oil spill in Vancouver's English Bay. Which defied reason.
And after his years of loyal service to his ghastly leader Stephen Harper, who waged war on knowledge and science, in a brutish manner never seen before.
So I'm glad to see that some in BC are letting Moore and UNBC know what they think of that appointment.
Well the last time we saw James Moore he was bobbing up and down in English Bay claiming that the Con's pathetic oil recovery effort was "world class."
But now I'm delighted to report, the Con beluga has spouted his last blast of hot air, slipped below the surface.
And become the latest high-profile Con to abandon Stephen Harper.
They were already the worst government Canada has ever known, a freakish horror show and a fascist circus.
But as the economy heads south, and their desperation grows, Stephen Harper's Con clowns are sinking to new levels of depravity and incompetence.
Because everywhere you look they are making fools out of themselves...
It couldn't have been a more monstrous or absurd sight.
A day after a ship leaked about 3,000 litres of bulk oil into Vancouver's beautiful English Bay,
And a few hours after the province's premier and the city's mayor blasted the slow federal response.
The monstrous Con beluga James Moore broke through the oily sheen to spout off at his critics.
Well as we know only too well and too painfully, Stephen Harper has many screaming voices in his head. And he likes to play many roles.
One moment he's Great Warrior Leader, the next moment he's Great Mother Leader.
But now, if you can believe it, he's posing a Great Used Car Salesman Leader.
Trying to scam the gullible into believing he's a consumer champion !!
He's still hiding from Canadians, still huddled with his closest advisers. Still inviting us to enter his sinister parallel universe.
Still running from the media, still dodging responsibility from the sheltered comfort of his ghastly cocoon.
In lieu of answering real world questions, the prime minister has entered a pre-campaign cocoon, dodging controversy and responsibility except to claim personal credit for trade and economic booms which always seem just over the horizon.
But it won't do him any good. He can run, he can hide, but he cannot escape reality. And Stephen Harper's long overdue Day of Reckoning has finally arrived.
Damn. I'm always making the same mistake. Because I can't help looking for the good in everyone most people, I keep thinking that some Cons are better than others.
So when some of my friends in Ottawa told me that James Moore was slightly more human than most members of the Harperite cult, I believed them.
But was that ever a mistake eh? And were they ever wrong.
Because it turns out Moore is just another miserable Con ideologue, as heartless and cruel as his morally depraved leader. And this is outrageous.
Golly. As I wait to watch Stephen Harper lead his almost new/nouveau cabinet into Parliament after a four month holiday, so they can start memorizing his Throne Speech, I can't help thinking of that old H.L. Mencken quote:
"Democracy is the art and science of running the circus from the monkey cage."
Because we may not have a functioning democracy in this country. But we got a circus, we got monkeys, we got Con klowns AND a Mr Dickhead... Pierre Poilievre !!!!
Uh oh. I see the Con regime is now so desperate to try to distract Canadians from the sordid Senate scandal, they're cooking up a whole new scam.
They're dressing up as consumer advocates, and sending out James Moore to flog their new/nouveau porky plan like a used car salesman.
In the ghastly Orwellian circus that the Cons have turned our Parliament into, it was a wonderful moment.
There was James Moore, filling in for Stephen Harper, doing what he has been doing since Great Ugly Leader left for Europe in a hurry.
Answering every question by smearing the opposition.
Some days when I look at the horror of the Con regime, I find it hard to decide which of their ghastly actions disgusts me the most.
The absurd sight of Stephen Harper swaggering around the world telling political leaders that they should all follow his example. Because he's a model leader and Canada's back eh?
Even as he turns us into a backward petrostate, and sells us out and humiliates us like we've never been sold out or humiliated before.
Well, let's put it this way eh? It wasn't exactly democracy's finest hour.
First the Cons rolled their Trojan horse budget, packed to the rafters with non-budget stuff that will gut our environmental laws, into the House of Commons.
Then when the opposition demanded the bill be split up so it can be properly studied, James Moore, fresh from mutilating the CBC, replied by twisting stretching strangling the truth.
I suppose I should thank James Moore, for putting some bimbo from Fox News North in her place. After she tried to claim that the CBC was a porn network.
According to Sun TV, CBC is producing "state broadcaster smut."
They sent a reporter to Parliament Hill this week with an iPad loaded with steamy clips from a program called Hard, a French drama about a woman who discovers after her husband's death that he has been secretly running a pornography business, which she must then run.
Heritage Minister James Moore, though, declined to take the bait.
"I know you're in the business of just going after the CBC, but I can't comment on something I haven't seen," he told a Sun TV reporter.
Then, off camera, he expressed skepticism about the issue, pointed out that Sun papers run bikini girls, and said the Sun TV reporter is being used as a "pawn" by Quebecor CEO Pierre Karl Peladeau, who wants CBC de-funded so he can get a larger share of the French language TV audience in Quebec, after which he will shut down Sun TV.
"You know that's going to happen right?" he said.
Even though he was forced to get down on all fours and crawl backwards like a lapdog, after being spanked by the PMO.
Hey Con.
Wedgie artist. Divider.
Now les Canadiens, from Montréal, Québec, are Canada's team.

They are smaller than their opponents, they have no superstars, one of their grinders, Hal Gill, played with fifty stitches in his leg. But still they won.
So we can still dream about bringing the Stanley Cup home to where it BELONGS.
Gosh. I hope you'll forgive me for this, but I just can't help it.
WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHH !!!!!!!!!!
Go Habs Go !!!!!!!
Tabarnac. I see that James Moore has created quite a flap by showing his true colours.
Not just the colours of a Vancouver Canuck's fan. The colours of the Harper ReformCons who would divide this country.
It is the same old thing of splitting apart into an us or them. Us doesn't include the CBC, artistic elites, union people, city dwellers -- and Quebec. In a fractious, minority parliament situation, divide & conquer, shore up your base & cherry pick some ridings here and there might be the only way toward stability. But it's killing the country. Killing it.
Which is why Moore's comment -- coming on the heels of one of the most stunning comebacks by a team that a whole lot of "Canadiens" think of as "Canada's team" goes beyond tone deafness, into a very much darker corner of the current political climate.
A dark corner where these hideous Cons are preparing to play wedge politics with our country's future, by pitting English Canadians against the Separatist Menace i.e. Quebec.
Just like they did during the Coalition Crisis.
Consider the evidence: A big polling firm asks a very strange question.
...Whether I would support an election being called because the Bloc Quebecois should not be permitted to sign a confidentiality oath and therefore should not be permitted to see the documents.
And in the the House of Commons the other day, a question from Gilles Duceppe about transparency in government, elicits this bizarre response from an angry Stephen Harper
Mr. Speaker, the Bloc leader talked about what Quebec wants. Quebeckers have voted on this issue twice, and they have chosen to stay and to respect the vital role played by a united Canada. That makes the Bloc the only party to reject what the people of Quebec want.
The exchange was in French so most people didn't pick up on it. But I did because I live with one foot in each solitude. I'm a proud Québécois as well as a proud Canadian....an Anglo Montrealer who lives with a French guy from the Saguenay. And I can't tell you how much this kind of talk bothers me.
Because I can never forget how well it worked for Harper last time, and how UGLY it was.
And because I truly believe that if the Québécois ever conclude that Canada doesn't want them they WILL separate. And that would be a monumental tragedy because this amazing French nation in Canada helps make us unique and wonderful.
The Cons are playing with fire. James Moore should know that. If he doesn't he's an idiot, if he does he's worse. And in either case he doesn't deserve to be Heritage Minister of a complicated country like Canada.
And oh yeah...for the record. Although I'm a die-hard Canadien's fan, I would go for ANY Canadian team who could bring the Stanley Cup home to where it belongs.
So I'll be cheering for Vancouver, but hoping against hope that these guys win...
The good news? If these humble Habs can beat the mighty Washington Capitals. And take a game from the Penguins in Pittsburgh.
And we skate work as hard as they do.
We can defeat these hideous Cons before they kill our country....
