Are the Harper Cons Trying to Steal the Election Already?

Well we know how the Cons tried to steal the last election, and that most of the robocall gang got away.

And we know Boss Harper and his mob.

We know that if they are prepared to use naked bigotry to try to win an election, they are capable of ANYTHING.

So call me paranoid, but I find this rather alarming.

Fielding a barrage of complaints and questions about mistakes on voter cards, Elections Canada says the "constant churn" of Canadians can lead to problems with keeping its information list current.

Stories have been surfacing across the country about thousands of Canadians receiving cards in the mail that have incorrect information or direct them to cast their ballot at the wrong location.

Ontario NDP candidate Charlie Angus, who served as the party's ethics and democratic reform critic in the last Parliament, warned that the rash of mistakes is leading to "mass confusion" that could ultimately affect outcomes in some tight races. Combined with heightened cynicism lingering from the robocalls scandal of the last election, that confusion could disenfranchise voters, he said.

Could the Cons be trying to steal the election ALREADY?

Didn't they give Elections Canada enough resources to do the job? Are they slowly strangling it like they're slowly strangling medicare?

I mean we know that Pierre Poilievre diddled the election rules to make it as hard as possible to vote...

But isn't voter suppression ENOUGH?

My advice? Make sure you are registered to vote. Make sure your voting place is in the right place, and that you have the right I.D.

And yes this could come in handy.

With the election less than two weeks away, the Council of Canadians is launching VoteWatch, a service to report voter suppression Canadians may experience or witness.

“We’re asking voters to be vigilant, given the fraudulent robocalls that marred the last general election and the changes to voter identification requirements,” says Garry Neil, Executive Director of the Council of Canadians. “If someone tries to stop you from voting or you can’t vote because of the new ID requirements, let us know.”

And so could this poll watch set up by the CBC.

Because we can't be too careful.

The robocall gang that tried to steal the last election is still out there.

And a man who would use bigotry to try to win an election, really is capable of anything...

For our country, for our democracy.

Vote for Anyone But Harper...

They didn't TRY to steal the last election. They DID steal the last election. And now they've staffed Elections Canada with criminal scum in order to produce all these "errors" that we've never heard happening before.

Of course not.

It would not be possible to "steal" the election if people went out in droves and voted. Unfortunately that is not going to happen. So when Steve cuts further into our healthcare and we loose more jobs to trade deals, don't go crying. You got what you wanted a majority government of steve and his cons, and they do have 17 cons.

You are not paranoid,Simon. We must be vigilant.

This is not paranoia. This is the reality of what we have been suffering under for many years and more to come if we don't get out and vote. Verify your voter information, make October 19 a priority and vote! A 20 minute visit to to your local polling station can make a difference. Take Canada back!

hi thwap....well of course as you know I've always been more moderate than you ;) But I think you are being a little harsh on Elections Canada. They have made mistakes, but they have been muzzled by the Cons. And their project to get out the student and aboriginal vote is showing signs of being a huge success....

hi jrkrideau....yes. that's what I blame these problems on. The Cons have tried to clip its wings, by preventing them from encouraging people to vote. But my dealings with them have been excellent, and as I told thwap, they have gone the extra mile to make it easier for students and aboriginal communities to vote. So I'm hopeful they will be able to counter to some degree at least, the Con attempts to suppress the vote...

hi e.a.f... well let's see what happens. The advance vote suggests that more Canadians are engaged this time than they were during the last election. So that has to be encouraging...
