It's a truly terrifying moment in human history. Donald Trump is vowing a massive missile strike on Syria.
And taunting the Russians.
While we wait to see whether Israel and Iran will declare war on each other and trigger an all out war in the Middle East. Or even the Third World War.
And to make matters worse, if that's possible, Trump has never sounded so crazy.
It was never as torrid an affair as many people imagined. The two political thugs were forced to admire each other from afar.
Thank goodness.
But it was an affair. Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin slathered praise all over each other.
While I, like so many others I'm sure, just hoped that the two men would stare into each others eyes, and agree to NOT blow us up.
And of course Trump assured us that if anyone could make a deal with Putin he could, because he knew more about diplomacy than the diplomats. Or was it the generals?
But sadly, and as usual, he was wrong.
And now this bully bromance could end really badly. Not with a whimper, but a bang or a BOOM.
You might think Donald Trump would want to keep his passionate bromance with Vladimir Putin under wraps, or at least under control.
Especially after the Obama administration just punished his friend for allegedly trying to help Trump win the election.
But yesterday when Putin refused to retaliate.
In a head-spinning turn of events on Friday, President Vladimir V. Putin of Russia announced that he would not retaliate against President Obama’s decision to expel Russian diplomats and impose new sanctions — hours after his foreign minister recommended doing just that.
Trump just couldn't contain himself.
The only thing scarier than thinking about what Donald Trump might do to our neighbours, is thinking what he might do to the planet.
Because not only is he planning to torch it, by ending the war on climate change.
His foreign policy plans are as dangerous and as crazy as he is.
We already knew that a small legion of Russian hackers had intervened in the U.S. election, hacking e-mails, and spreading fake news stories.
And we knew that Vladimir Putin would not be displeased to see the U.S. descend into chaos.
Which is what most experts believe the Russians were trying to do.
But if this new report is true, their motives were far more sinister.
As we know Donald Trump has a cozy relationship with the Russian strongman Vladimir Putin.
So cozy in fact that the Obama administration has accused the Russians of trying to influence the result of the American election.
The Obama administration on Friday formally accused the Russian government of stealing and disclosing emails from the Democratic National Committee and a range of other institutions and prominent individuals, immediately raising the issue of whether President Obama would seek sanctions or other retaliation.
But this is the absolute limit.
Once upon a time Donald Trump's passionate bromance with Vladimir Putin had its comic qualities.
But not any longer. Not after this.
And what Trump said yesterday was not only dangerous and crazy.
We know that Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin have an unusually warm relationship.
We know that Trump greatly admires the Russian strongman, and that Putin feels the same way about him.
And although they do make an odd couple, I have always assumed it was just one power hungry narcissist, admiring the other.
But what if it was something more sinister?
It's the greatest Arctic mystery since the Franklin expedition.
Why after taunting the Russians and their leader for the last two years, in relentless pursuit of the ethnic vote.
And shooting his mouth off like a cannon, as only that Con clown could...
Why is Stephen Harper suddenly not talking about the Russians anymore?
Why has he suddenly gone silent even after their equally desperate and deranged leader issued this disturbing challenge?
OMG. I see Stephen Harper has stolen the spotlight at the G20 summit, by going dictator to dictator, with Vladimir Putin.
Stephen Harper told Russian President Vladimir Putin flatly that he needs "to get out of Ukraine," when the two met at a Group of 20 summit of major economies in Brisbane.
Or mano a mano.
The Russian Leader stuck out his hand.
Mr. Harper accepted the gesture but said to the Russian Leader: "I guess I'll shake your hand but I have only one thing to say to you, you need to get out of Ukraine."
In a crass attempt to make the summit all about him, and the ethnic vote.
Well as you know, no world leader has screamed as loudly about the crisis in Ukraine as has Stephen Harper.
If words were weapons the Russians would have surrendered by now.
But now NATO is demanding that he put his money where his mouth or his snout is.
And the chicken hawk has been plucked.
Well, we know he has a high opinion of himself. That he likes to rule like a king.
We know that he ordered that the Canadian government should henceforth be known as the Harper government.
And that these days he's posing as a Great World Leader.
Chatting it up with Obama.
Sending sleeping bags to the Ukrainians, and weapons to the Kurds.
But sadly for Lord Harpo, when Canadians are asked what they think of him the results are considerably less flattering.
As I mentioned in my last post, Stephen Harper has been making a complete fool out of himself with his latest war of words with Vladimir Putin.
But at least he is getting some strong words of encouragement from his devoted friend Tony Abbott.
Prime Minister Tony Abbott has called Russia a "bully" and demanded it stops "interfering" in Ukraine.
Mr Abbott's strongest comments on Russia to date came while he was in Ottawa, and followed Canadian prime minister Stephen Harper's criticisms of president Vladimir Putin.
Because as we know, Harper is no bully. He's a Great Warrior Leader. Even if his bluster doesn't pass muster.
If the crisis in Ukraine wasn't so ominous, the sight of the Harper Cons mobilizing for war would be absolutely hilarious.
Stephen Harper sucking in his gut, puffing out his chest, inflating his propaganda balloon, talking tough to the fascist dwarf Vladimir Putin.

Like millions of others I was dazzled by the closing of the Sochi Games, for it was a spectacular display of the best that Russia has to offer.
And I was happy to see the smiles on the faces of our athletes after such a successful Olympics.
But I have to admit I really didn't feel like celebrating, not when the biggest winner of those games was the sinister thug Vladimir Putin.
It couldn't have been an uglier or more depressing sight. The Russian dictator Vladimir Putin at Canada House in Sochi.
Being greeted by our athletes as if he was some kind of rock star.
And they were his groupies...
Well the Opening Ceremonies of the Sochi Olympics are just hours away, and I'll probably watch them. If only to see the fascist dwarf Vladimir Putin claim them as his own.
So soon after his corrupt regime made it clear, once again, why the games never should have been held there.
Well by now I'm sure you've all heard the latest horror story to emerge from Putin's Russia.
The story about the brutish Mayor of Sochi Putingrad and his claim that there are no gay people in his corrupt village.
And had a good laugh, like I did, when some of them were found hiding in a gay club. Even though they were only a handful.
I'm happy to see that Hayley Wickenheiser will be carrying the Canadian flag at the Sochi Olympics.
Not just because she deserves it. But also because I'm sure if she has a chance she'll let Vladimir Putin know what she thinks about his persecution of Russia's LGBT people.
“I am supportive of every athlete being able to compete regardless of your race, gender or orientation and I will carry that Canadian flag proudly believing I am representing all the athletes that feel that way as well.”
And I hope that Rachel Maddow is right about gay athletes giving Putin the finger.
Uh oh. It looks as if Stephen Harper's Great Escape Tour of Europe is going disastrously wrong.
The Tour has gone off the rails, and he's fallen off the wagon !!!!!
He can't get a deal. He can't get away from Old Duff. He's desperately seeking sexy photo-ops to try to make people forget all the scandals.
But today all the boys in the PMO could scrape up for him was this miserable one.
