The Ghastly Return of Jody Wilson-Raybould

I  thought we had seen the last of her for a long long time. I thought she had been swallowed up by the obscurity she so richly deserves.

I thought she would take the clattering pans of her fake scandal and bang them in a place where no decent person could hear her.

I thought she might be ashamed at the damage she has done to this country.

But I was wrong, she has no shame, and believe it or not, Jody Wilson-Raybould is back !!!

Screaming for attention on the front page of the crappy Con Sun, and in an article by the toxic Trudeau hater Warren Kinsella.

Which should tell you how low she has fallen.

There isn't anything new in the article, just more of the same old monstrous ego.

The Truth.

She says it’s true — the actions of the Liberal Prime Minister should be “of great concern for many Canadians, across the country.”

She says, truthfully, that Justin Trudeau has acted in a way that is “questionable.”

And — when, say, a Prime Minister Andrew Scheer gives her the legal green light to do so — she plans to tell all.

She plans to reveal what really happened “behind the veil” in Trudeau’s Ottawa.

The true story.

Written in a breathless style that would be hilarious if it wasn't so tragic.

For her "truth" may be a bad joke, but the damage she has done to a prime minister infinitely more decent than her is very ugly and very real.

The latest Nanos federal ballot tracking has the Conservatives at 35.4 per cent, followed by the Liberals at 29.7 per cent, the NDP at 15.0 percent, the BQ at 4.4 per cent, the Greens at 11.3per cent and the People’s Party of Canada (PPC) at 0.9 per cent.

And by cuddling up to this monster and his Con bigots, and doing their dirty work for them...

She has betrayed the women of this country, she has betrayed gay Canadians and other oppressed minorities as well as her own people, and she has betrayed those fighting to save the planet.

But of course Wilson-Raybould couldn't care less about that, or even whether Canada lives or dies, because all she has ever cared about is HERSELF.

And the fact that her crappy Sun interview closely followed this interview in the Times where Justin Trudeau's noble nature was on display.

I talked to a number of my predecessors from different parties who expressed how quickly they would turf out of caucus someone who was so openly antagonistic.

But I really believed that doing politics differently means trying to reconcile differences and trying to hold together people who do agree on the big things.

And I spent weeks trying to figure out a constructive path forward.

Only proves that she can't control her vindictive nature.

The same vindictive nature that was at the heart of the fake scandal, when outraged by her removal as justice minister and attorney general, she made it her mission to bring down the government, aided and abetted by our shabby Con media.

Even though she was a lousy minister, and such a mediocre attorney general, some even questioned whether she knew what she was doing.

And even though a woman who secretly tapes others, has no claim to sainthood...

No matter what she and her fellow Connie Jane Philpott might believe.

And although Wilson-Raybould is hinting she is about to announce plans to run for the Green Party.

She really should reconsider, as should the Green Party, now that the ghastly Kinsella has just written her political obit:

Promise to give Jody Wilson-Raybould the freedom to speak her truth, Andrew Scheer.

Put it in your election platform. The truth, as they say, will set you free.

It may get you elected Prime Minister, too.

For many of her supporters must now surely recognize her sinister agenda, and her lack of judgement.

And since the decent people of Canada already know the kind of person she really is.

Her name will live in infamy if Scheer and his Cons win the election.

And if Trudeau and his Liberals win the election, her name will soon be forgotten.

As it was in the beginning, so shall it be in the end...

She had a chance to improve first nations situations but instead chose to try a laughable power grab to oust Trudeau. Her tool kit is now anathema and it will be years before politicians dare go there. Now she is shamelessly plugging not the man behind the curtains but the sheers, insubstantial as they are. Bring Alanis is , the irony, Sheer doesn't like either women or first nations.

Someone who is so openly antagonistic.

He's got that right.

Somehow I got the feeling that NYT interview was Justin setting up to tell the world his truth -- that is, the honest truth. He's going to write a tell-all, just like Hillary Clinton did. God love him. He knows what's been done to him and to the country he loves and he won't soon forget.

Burn her, Justin. Burn the witch to hell.

When I think that JWR's bruised ego could result in a Con majority government, I get so angry. Who does Bug Ass think she is, and why didn't she resign? She better hope that Trudeau is re-elected or her life is going to be VERY unpleasant.

Now that it's absolutely clear that Kinsella is rooting for Scheer why is he still blogging on Progressive Bloggers? Am I the only one who finds that weird?

Anonymous said...

You're not the only one. Kinsella posts so many times a day he has changed the very look of Progressive Bloggers. And it's all crap. The people who run PB, whoever they are, don't seem to realize their baby is dying.

rumleyfips said...

His posts are so frequent, you wonder if his firm has any clients or does any business at all.

From Justice Minister to page 5 of a sleazy knockoff of the National Enquirer is not a good trajectory. My rational side concludes JWR is just engaged in some sort of ego based stupidity that takes out everything at the crash site. But then again the drum beat has changed "we have money, we want to invest, resources are our game"! Just perhaps the dynamics have bypassed the Liberal inspired mutual benefit phase and shifted to a Con inspired victim or victor mentality. With a nation of winners I wonder who the losers will be?

I think Scheer's going to cut a backroom deal to give her old job back after crossing the floor, and then go ballistic pursuing Trudeau and other Liberals on phony criminal charges. JWR wants to burn the Grits and obviously so does Scheer. This is what tinpot dictators do. Justin is Our Lula.

Let me just tell you straight away that dodging milkshakes like Nigel Farage will be the least of her problems. This frame job will not stand. Let Arya Stark be an inspiration to us all.

How classy of her to dig up this fake scandal again in her disturbing vendetta against JT. Even classier, she tells her tall tales of woe and innuendo, judge and jury, hell hath no fury, to the JT deranged Kinsella via the equally deranged colon-esque sun rag of "newspapers". How low can you go JWR? She reminds me of the phrase "look at what the cat dragged in", with her being the cat trying to resurrect a dead scandal long past its best before date.
This spiteful, hissing witch is solely responsible for the Liberals trailing in the polls and if it ultimately helps elect the thoroughly unfit for PM Scheer, she will forever be remembered as the catalyst that led this great country to its ultimate ruin.

Jackie, not saying this to support her, but that is an unacceptable comment. I know you aren't remotely a misogynist, but your comment references deep misogyny. I hope you or Simon can change it to something not involving witch hunts.

Marmalade said...

If JWR wished to set her people "free", then she made the wrong choice!

Simon said...

Hi rumleyfips...I agree, Wilson-Raybould had a chance to make a real contribution to our country, but her massive ego got in the way. She wasn't properly qualified for the positions she was given, but she could have learned on the job. Instead she seemed only interested in advancing the agenda of certain radical native groups, and when reined in went to war with her own government. And yes you're right, she is now boosting Scheer even though he is anti-woman and anti-indigenous. And her collaboration with Kinsella is further proof of her total lack of judgement...

Simon said...

Hi Jackie....As much as I despise JWR for the damage she has done to the progressive cause, I don't want to see her treated as a witch. I just wish somebody could pack her in ice to get her to chill out, and be more reasonable. But she seems determined to hurt her own cause, and her vindictiveness is out of control. And trying to reason with people like that is usually a lost cause...

Simon said...

Hi anon @6:40 pm...I don't blame you for getting angry.. What JWR has done at a time when far-right wingers are threatening this country can only be described as monstrous. And you're right, if she helps elect a Scheer majority government she will have to live with that until the day she dies...

Simon said...

Hi Jackie...I don't think JWR will become a Con, as even a person as deluded as she is must realize that anti-indigenous feeling in that party runs rampant. Remember how the CBC has had to close down the comment sections on indigenous stories? That tells you all you need to know about the Cons. Also, I don't think that Justin will be our Lula, because at least in Canada we have a decent legal system which is not the case in Brazil. But yes Justin has been treated badly, and JWR and her Con media friends should be ashamed of themselves...

Simon said...

Hi anon @6:53 PM...I also find it weird. A while back a distinguished blogger wrote a post questioning Kinsella's right to blog for Progressive Bloggers. The chief administrator Scott Tribe replied that progressive doesn't mean having to be pro Liberal. And Scott who is a good guy is right about that. But now that Kinsella is pimping for Scheer I hope he reconsiders...

Simon said...

Hi rumleyfips...I find his posts are so frequent they have ruined the pleasure I used to get from reading the different PB bloggers. Now I try to avoid the site except to check that my own posts have been published. It's obvious that Kinsella is driven by an absolute hatred of Trudeau who has shut him out of the modern Liberal Party. And that kind of hatred makes for bad and boring reading. Like JWR he really needs to chill out...

Simon said...

Hi RT...yes, JWR has been on a downward trajectory for a while, and she has nobody to blame but herself. It's now clear that she was not prepared for the positions she was given, and I'm afraid it was another example of the road to hell being paved with good intentions. Trudeau tried to do a good and noble thing but he must bear some blame for inadvertently choosing the candidate from hell. Hopefully he will learn from this experience, and JWR's legion of groupies will also learn something before they help destroy this country. I mean God almighty what a way to go...

Simon said...

Hi JD...Yes it is truly depressing to see JWR continue her pathetic vendetta against Trudeau, in a column written by the toxic Trudeau hater Kinsella, in the filthy Con propaganda rag the Sun. As I said in my post you can't get any lower than that. Or as we say in Quebec, more con than that and you die. I hope Canadians will realize the true nature of JWR, and realize how absurd it would be to sacrifice a country for the sake of a bitter vindictive woman with an ego the size of Mount Everest. But if they don't they will deserve what they get. And like JWR will also live in infamy forever...

Simon said...

Hi anon@7:00 PM....As I told rumleyfips below, I too believe that Kinsella has changed the whole look of Progressive Bloggers, and for progressives like me it has made it a less attractive place to visit. Kinsella's deranged hate fest reminds me of one of those Vincent Price horror movies, where Price comes up with increasingly elaborate ways to try to destroy his enemies. It's pathetic and Kinsella should be using his talents to attack our real enemies, the Cons who would destroy Canada and turn us into Americans....

Simon said...

Hi Marmalade...I agree,Nashe could have done so much good for her people, but she let her giant ego ruin everything...

Simon said...

Hi lagatta...I don't believe Jackie has a misogynist bone in her body, I just think she is angry and frustrated like so many of us are. But yes, we should not call women witches because of their brutal history of oppression. I don't know if I've mentioned this before, but in the Scottish town where my family live there is a small monument at the bottom of a hill. It marks the spot where witches were rolled down that hill in barrels lined with spikes. If they survived they were declared witches and burned, and if they died they presumably went to heaven. What? How people could be that brutal is beyond me, but unfortunately witch burning in Scotland was all too common. Misogyny has deep and evil roots...

lagatta à montréal said...

Witch burning and other tortures were common in many cultures, and not only Christian European ones. Albinos are killed as witches in some African cultures. In Europe, the great witch burnings were an evil along the lines of genocide or mass lynchings - and as Livia reminds me, the persecution of cats, particularly black ones. As a woman of a certain age who lives with a black cat (the latest in a series, and my cats are generally long-lived)I'd definitely have been a target.

I'd prefer going after JWR on the basis of her massive me me me ego. There are surely some tropes or memes available.

"burn the witch to hell" may pass for political commentary in a violent country like the U.S.A., in Canada, not so much. this comment is totally unacceptable. It has little to do with misogyny in my opinion, it has every thing to do with violence directed at an Indigenous woman. It is this type of comment which leads to violence. How can this type of comment be used to condemn a political opponent if we are to pass ourselves off as non violent. Violence begets violence and it is no way to settle political differences.

As much as people may disagree with what JWR said or did, it was her right to do so. This is still a democracy with free speech.

this type of statement advocates violence against an Indigenous woman in Canada. In case any one missed it we had an inquiry into all the missing and murdered Indigenous women in Canada. They believe there maybe as many as 4,000 murdered and missing Indigenous women in Canada, since 1970. Then there is the no small matter of the 49 women Robert Pickton murdered in Greater Vancouver, B.C. Many of them were Indigenous and you know what Jackie Blue, some of their bodies were dismembered and burned. You comment is disgusting. As to Justin Trudeau, it is doubtful he would utter such a statement.

e.a.f. said...

A 6:40 p.m. "who does Bug Ass think she is?"
I can assure you JWR knows exactly who she is and with a comment such as this, many of us can reasonably conclude what you are. Why the term "bug ass" to describe an Indigenous woman? both your comments and those of Jackie Blue smack of racism. You may not like what JWR said or did, but to lower the narrative to a point of referring to the Former Justice Minister of our country as "bug ass" is simply disgusting.

Suggesting JWR's life will be very unpleasant if Trudeau is not re elected, is as bad as the threats leveled at Trudeau and his family. Perhaps even worse. Trudeau comes from a family of wealth and privilege and has a squad of RCMP to protect him and his family. It could be suggested you are advocating violence against a female Indigenous female. Between your and Jackie Blue's comment it truly is very clear why so many Indigenous women are murdered in this country. If this is what people who like to think of themselves as progressive say, lord help us. You both sound like a couple of red neck from the deep south. these are the types of comments Indigenous people hear frequently. Its the type of comments people of colour hear in the U.S.A. this is how genocide starts, when the progressives can't even keep a civil tongue in their mouths.

lets hope nothing happens to JWR. Both of you would be up for investigation.

e.a.f. said...

and Simon you ought to be ashamed of yourself. Both A. and Jackie Blue advocate violence against an Indigenous female for daring to differ in opinion from Trudeau.

What is interesting, those newspapers gave JWR room in their paper, but the people just can't help commenting in a negative manner about her. Leave it alone, get on with positive comments about how to win the election. In the end these types of comments can and may be used against the Liberals as an e.g. of just how anti Indigenous progressives are especially Liberal supporters. don't think it won't happen. Guess you've never seen B.C. politics. You're feeding the Conservative beast.

Is there any doubt left that JWR used Kinsella as her conduit and he is Fife's anonymous source? And for a former JM/AG JWR is woefully uninformed. Even if he becomes PM Scheer is not at liberty to waive privilege/cabinet confidentiality of a previous government.

Jackie Blue said...

Please reread my comment for the context in which it was made. As Robert Plant of Led Zeppelin says, "sometimes words have two meanings." To "burn" someone doesn't necessarily mean to literally immolate them, any more than "burning" a CD means throwing the disc in the fireplace, "lighting a stick of dynamite" under someone's chair or rear end means to literally rig their "seat" with explosives, or "throwing the book at" someone means to literally hurl an encyclopedia in their direction. You know, we in the States make jokes all the time about how we want Trudeau to ride in as a white knight to "blaze up" the Trump White House. Usually accompanied by a meme of him smoking pot and the words "because it's 1814." Nobody is actually calling on Justin Trudeau to commit a terrorist act at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. It's called a figure of speech. As Carrie Fisher, who was often fond of symbolic language herself, used to say, metaphors be with you.

"Burning" someone professionally means blackballing them or demolishing their reputation or career. You know, like JWR and her bad-faith enablers have done to Trudeau? Encouraging Trudeau to "burn the witch" in a tell-all memoir (which I did) or other publication is called writing a burn book. The Amelia Bedelias on this board should see the movie Mean Girls (which JWR and her sidekicks are), or the cable-TV spy drama Burn Notice for further explanation. Apparently the Internet sucks at conveying nuance. Adam Vaughan can relate, I'm sure.

As for the statements about "her life will be very unpleasant" and the milkshake being the least of her problems? She may still have her cult of personality, but she'll be reviled by a substantial set of the population that does still support Trudeau and his party and will blame her above all else for what Scheer and his northern Nazis would do to her own people, other minorities, women, the environment, schoolchildren, LGBTQ+ people, Canada's world standing, unions, the economy, you name it. And yes, she does have a bug up her ass if not a whole hornet's nest, and I and others don't really care if it's an unwelcome pun on her cultural name. "Trudeau" is a French cultural name, and he gets called "Turdeau" and "Fruity Trudy" by the Cons, so I guess all's fair in love (or hate) and war? Calling her BugAss instead of Puglaas isn't a call to violence. It's a knock against her egotism, her inflexible personality, and her psychopathic desire for revenge. Equal treatment for her behavior rather than special treatment -- walking on eggshells -- because of what demographic checkboxes she ticks off. Nobody made this a battle of the sexes but her, the media and the Cons.

If anyone's an arsonist of the worst sort, it's her. And a hypothetical Farage milkshake bomb hurled in her direction wouldn't really be "violence" any more than that kid hitting racist Aussie politician Fraser Manning with an egg was. Like Farage and Manning, her milkshake brings all the LIES to the yard.

Smoke 'em if you got 'em, my maple friends. You're gonna need it. I'm out 'till October.

Jackie, as a fellow literate, I got you the first time. I get your every indignant and satirical utterance; every stunning simile, metaphor, and figure of speech. How come, I, who have only been around here for maybe a month, know not to take your every word literally? Know you are violently passionate, not physically violent?
Please, please, please, do not absent yourself, Jackie! We need you.
I suppose the only way around nuance, for the textualists and the doctrinaire, is lots of Winks and Smileys...

Dear readers, to further illustrate, and test: How literally do you take me when I say this whole Puglass business makes me sick--Where's the sick bucket?
And, what bitchiness do you ascribe to me, as to why I say this?

lagatta à montréal said...

I very much doubt that Justin (or anyone from the NDP or the Greens) would make such a statement. And I don't think Jackie is misogynist; like all of us, she had a brain fart; I've had some whoppers. I had no intention of attacking Jackie (our political differences lie elsewhere) just reminding all including self to THINK (as Aretha sang).https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HqYnevHibaI

Witch hunts, like genocides and slavery are horrors ripping through history. Saying that as a past-menopause (and actually multi-origin) woman who makes her life with a wee black cat.

lagatta à montréal said...

I'm a translator. I know all that. But some things are rightly taboo, like jokes about witch-burning, slavery (except by African-origin or other enslaved people) Hitler's genocide (except by Jews, Roma and other groups of victims). I am certainly familiar with all the other meanings of burn.I don't want you to leave. Acquiring a class analysis would be nice, but certainly not imperative to comment on a public forum.

Well said Brawnfire. The commenters who regularly jump down Jackie's throat when her comments fly right over their heads need to get a grip, back off, or just leave. Jackie's entitled to her opinions and many of us enjoy reading her unique form of delivering them.

Why is it wrong to call Puglass Bug Ass, making a pun on her nickname? Can we call Scheer Andy Sneer? What about the guy they call Trudope? Sheesh. It's not racist to call someone a pun on their name. Why are you calling her "Indigenous" anyway? Her mother is white. She's a Metis or half Indigenous. If you claim her mother is Indigenous because she married an Indigenous man, then Jody is white because she married a white man.

e.a.f. is probably being impersonated by WK in order to sow discord and get us fighting among ourselves. There are lots of blogs with profiles created several years ago and put on a shelf suddenly being revived and renamed to appear not new but used for false flag operations.

I do agree that making puns on peoples' names is juvenile and we can do better, but it's childish not racist. You're actually comparing "life will be unpleasant for Jody" with "kill Trudeau and his family"? Seriously? Bug off, you concern trolling impersonator.

Simon said...

Hi Jackie....please disregard anything e.a.f. said today. He's completely out of order and accusing all of us of beating up on poor little JWR, who he seems to believe can do no wrong. When in fact she has done enormous damage to the progressive cause, and has increased the chance that the Cons could win the next election, which is simply unforgivable. You had every right to be angry and did nothing wrong. I had to delete two of his comments because he all but accused us of inciting people to murder JWR. Which is of course nonsense...

Simon said...

Hi brawnfire....well said. Jackie did nothing wrong, and e.a.f. f had no right to go after her, and me like he did. As I told Jackie I had to delete two of his tweets that continued his attack on Jackie and you. As I've told him before, if he wants to worship JWR that's his right. But I will not put up with commenters on this blog attacking others as if they are Cons. So if e.a.f. Does it again I will ban him..l

Simon said...

Hi e.a.f...Nobody in this comment thread is threatening violence against aboriginal women. And you should be ashamed of yourself for your completely over the top accusations. JWR may be your saint but she is not mine. She has placed millions of women, gay people, Muslims and her own people in jeopardy for no good reason. She has endangered the future of our Medicare system, and progressives have every reason to be angry. You too have the right to be angry, but don't have the right to attack other commenters in such a personal way. I deleted two your posts because they were even more outrageous attacks on Jackie and Brawnfire all but accusing them of inciting mass murder. Enough. I have worked hard to make this blog's comment section a safe place for progressives to share their opinions. So if you violate my guidelines I will be forced to ban you...

Its the good old false equivalency ploy where metaphors and satire are thrown into the same bucket as hate speech. In the past Canadians could tell the difference but since the false equivalency virus has spread northward its not certain anymore. We have already dabbled in stand your ground defense so don't be surprised in a futuristic Con world its ok to blast someone for throwing a milkshake. The solution is not obvious but the elitist propaganda machine is vulnerable if sufficient people learn to recognize the common words the Cons use to frame their arguments. Its always based on the OTHER is responsible(usually portrayed as an elitist individual or group, the reasons are either ( global subversion, stupidity, arrogance, false virtue, treason, corruption, religious revenge ) and the method is through conspiracy against the downtrodden working man. The JWR story was an opportunity made in heaven for the Con populist propaganda machine. The hard core Cons and Liberals already have decided and its difficult to woo the undecided through overt mud raking or using populist words. Unless the Cons can recreate the hype, time has a way of putting this non scandal in context. Also, a few faint praise opinion pieces which raise more questions about JWR than answers will help.

Unfortunately Trudeau's initial popularity along with his compassionate social objectives allowed the media to place him and by inference his government on a pedestal that was untenable at least in the short term. Like Trump the Scheer Cons have set their bar so low that there is only upside for them. Trudeau needs to get the message across that Canadians did not arrive at a destination by electing the Liberals but rather resumed the continuation of a long sometimes difficult journey based on individual freedom, compassion, mutual respect, beneficial cooperation and a shared vision for the future. How he sets and communicates the reality that its a journey and not an instant destination with the undecided "working person" voter without ending up on the visionary pedestal or in the mud with the Cons is a challenge.

Hi Simon, If I recall correctly and I'm not certain, in a not too distant past comment you were fed up with eaf for the same reasons and also considered banning him then. I'm not telling you what to do as it's your blog and that decision rests with you. However, it's clear to me that eaf is an indigenous person who along with JWR, is doing more harm to their cause by 1. eaf being incapable of critcizing an indigenous person (JWR)for the damage she has done to the Liberal brand, her incompetence and her petty vindictiveness. 2. Just because you're an indigenous Canadian doesn't give you a free pass for being an asshole. I don't care if your a man, woman, LBGT, black, white, brown, yellow, green or fucking violet, you don't get a free pass, period! It creates a perceived sense of entitlement that will ultimately damage the cause as this whole fucking mess that JWR has created has done. She needs to go away and STFU ASAP before she damages the indigenous brand any more than she already has and before she helps elect an equally incompetent Scheer so he can finish the destruction of Canada that Harper started.

Given this will not appear on your blog, with which I am fine, I thought I'd share few thoughts. A. 2:35 p.m. does remind me of a foreign troll or disrupter. Other blogs have techies, who check these types of things out by checking to see where the addresses go. Empty Wheel, an American blog, traced them to off shore account. In B.C. we're familiar with this type of thing, progressive bloggers have had trolls and Laila Yuile had your blog "blown up" a few years ago.

Firstly, their conclusions are wrong. I am female, I was born in Europe into a family who has been there as long as there were Europeans there. I know what sexism and racism looks like given our family arrived in Canada during a time when all you had to be, to have racism directed at you, was an accent, which was not Canadian. My Grandfather, a Jew in the Netherlands, was the only survivor in his family. Having grown up and continuing to live in a multicultural environment I know what racism looks and smells like. the comments you felt fine to print, are just that, racism.

You are free to feel you are only defending your political party and leader of choice. I have no problem with being "banned" from the blog. I continue to be accepted on a number of B.C. and American blogs, all progressive. My letters to the Editor, have been printed in all major newspapers in B.C. and the Comox Valley for many years when I "wrote out" about the federal Conservatives and the B.C. LieberCons. Yes, my reputation in B.C. blogs is that of a leftie, feminist, etc.

A.2:35 vilifies me for arrogance, unwillingness to critise JWR and that is my right, just as it is your and other's right to defend Trudeau. "my perceived sense of entitlement", that line was comical. Its what racists usually write about people of colour, women, the LBGTQ community. Simon, go back and have a look at some of what was written and substitute in LBGTQ and see how it reads. Not nice.

We have seen JWR and JP had no other political ambitions but to continue to serve. they're doing that by running as Independents. They are the way of the future in politics.
part of the reason I write to you is to encourage you to read the Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women's report. You'll perhaps understand why I consider the comments by various A.s and Jackie Blue as racist. Suggesting an Indigenous female to "burn" if not racist is certainly not sensitive to cultural norm.
