Doug Ford and Jason Kenney's Grotesque Love-In

It was supposed to be a joyous occasion, a chance for Jason Kenney to visit Doug Ford and celebrate Kenney's coronation as the new King of Albertonia.

And although I never thought that the meeting between the two men could be hotter than the one in the above picture.

It turns out I was wrong, for this one was even hotter !!!

And even featured a joint appearance in a Ford Nation attack ad...

Dougie just couldn't say enough good things about his Jasonella.

It was a love-in for the carbon crusading dynamic duo.

“I can’t even wipe the smile off my face,” a beaming Ford told Kenney as they posed for media cameras in his office. “What a great ally.”

“We’re fortunate to have such a great person leading the province,” Ford said.

But sadly for the two Cons the party didn't last long.

For it was soon reported that another member of the Carbon Gang, Saskatchewan Premier Scott Moe, had lost his carbon tax case.

Saskatchewan's Court of Appeal has ruled that the carbon tax imposed on the province by the federal government is constitutionally sound and falls within the legislative authority of Parliament.

Moe, the one who believes he knows more than Nobel Prize winners, and is convinced that carbon taxes don't work, is planning to appeal...

"I remain hopeful for a different outcome," Moe said in the aftermath of the decision's release.

"No one in this nation should confuse climate action with a carbon tax."

Which is so Moe or so dumb it's depressing.

But the good news is that it's a big victory for the Trudeau Liberals.

This is one court’s opinion with many to come in a particularly litigious time for Confederation, and not resounding

But it was a win. The first win, and that was crucial. Politically, it gives Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s federal Liberals a pre-election edge they desperately needed, no matter what those other courts say.

Now the political assumption is going to be that the provinces won’t stop the federal carbon tax in court, that Mr. Trudeau’s plan is viable, and the issue will be decided in October’s election.

And the timing couldn't be better.

Because although I really liked the way Catherine McKenna lectured the Con Carbon gang like children.

I liked this even better, real children in the streets...
Demanding that governments do more to fight climate change.

And while Justin Trudeau will have to work hard to earn or regain their trust, Andrew Scheer and his Cons don't stand a chance.

The Kenney Ford alliance will make Canadians even more reluctant to trust the creepy Scheer...

And the issue of climate change will be the one that destroys him.

Hard to believe this is Canada anymore :/. These creeps are more a symptom of a population that is becoming revolting, selfish and ignorant not the cause. They have a lot of enablers and a lot of money. It pains me to think my neighbours in this country support this madness. Ignorance enables this gang of creeps and they are a dangerous bunch. No corporation would ever hire any one of these losers for an executive job but the public votes for these brain dead loons?? Very sad. :/

It's a long shot -- how quaint, a campaign decided on issues -- but I still have "a new hope" you're right, Simon. I'm nevertheless still worried that the election will come down to a Clintonesque déjà vu referendum on how much of the country really, really (erroneously and irrationally) hates Justin (and to a measurable extent Pierre) Trudeau.

All I can say is, May the Fourth be with him. Princess Leia and now Chewbacca may have gone to that great forest moon of Endor in the stars, but whatever the fate of his job prospects, at least our young Skywalker can know in his heart (and write in his book) that he stood on the side with Harrison Ford rather than Doug Ford. Or Jason the Hutt. Or Android Sneer and his Rebel scum stormtroopers. If they strike him down, he will become stronger than they will ever know.

If Canadians aren't willing to do the right thing because of their own selfish, shortsighted personal animus against the man, well, they should keep in mind it's their children who'll be making the decisions of what wretched nursing home of scum and villainy to stick them in when they're cleaning up the mess the older folks left behind.

Trudeau or consequences, Canada. Either write him a sequel, or write your own national obituary.

For all the fear and loathing there is a simple explanation. Government has not found a way to fund a just society. So the failure of spending gross sums on nothing will let the cons in the door everytime, and then twenty years later with society destroyed some leftist will try and clean up the mess in four years.

Comment of the year Steve, congratulations.

Never mind the smiles.

The interpersonal dynamics they’re experiencing is making these two perverts so full of themselves that even the idiots who voted for them won’t be able to hold back the puke much longer. I never dreamed I’d ever trip over such a treat as to see the stupid grinning faces of two presiding libertarian milksops and thousands of the dupes they’ve conned rationalizing their self-interest by wiping stuff off their own and each other’s faces.

Get the baby wipes ready for some precious moments in the Sycotocracy.

The Sask, high court has ruled, the carbon tax stands. Now it will be off to the Supreme Court of Canada, if they'll hear it. Looks like the boys lost round one.

CBC had an interesting panel this morning regarding the pipeline, Alberta's position on the carbon tax, and turn off the taps to B.C.. There seemed to be a consensus, an attempt to shut off the tar to B.C. will not go over well and will loose Kenny support. One panelist opined the building of the second pipeline does not have anything to do with the B.C. government but the First Nations. That Kenny was "firing" at the wrong people.

What is funny is, well its not funny, but two large cruise ships, "touched" this morning in the Vancouver harbour. That is one of our biggest fears here in the Lower Mainland and Vancouver island, a cruise ship and a tar carrier colliding. Some say that can't happen. if two cruise ships can "collide", so can oil tankers. We now have proof we're not being irrational. ships collide.

if Kenney keeps acting like he's a tough guy, he might want to take into consideration B.C., Premier, used to play Rugby. think he still plays the odd game. Now for those of you who don't know B.C. Rugby players; they're a very tough lot.

the NDP government has an agreement with the Green Party to support them in the Leg. on major leg. Although the party is led by Andrew Weaver, the real power house in my opinion is the deputy leader, a young woman, Sonia Furstenau. She and her neighbours battled the previous B.C. provincial government, (B.C. Lieberals--LieberCons) when they granted a permit to a company to dump land fill on the shores of the lake, Shawnigan from which their drinking water came. Kenney will be no match for Horgan or Furstenau. I remember her clearly prior to her being elected an MLA. Should see her at a protest in gumboots.

Ford and Kenney look like graduates of a carnival barker's academy. How anyone can make a virtue out of not fighting climate change is criminally irresponsible. Thank goodness Justin Trudeau is on the right side of history.

...and Scheer looks like a dummy from the circus freak show.

One can only hope the voters aren't dumb or bitter enough at Trudeau to buy into their bullshit clown act.

Justin's truth is "An Inconvenient Truth."

It is hard to believe this is Canada. And you're right it takes a brutish people to produce such grotesque leaders, and along with big money enablers take a country down. Canada is ranked at the top of many charts, but instead of appreciating that many Canadians have only become more selfish and greedy. There is still a chance for Canadians to find themselves, but it is their last chance...

Now where's that video of Kenney dancing at the Caribbean Fest? That gem never fails to make me laugh.

Hi Jackie...You sum up the situation well. As I told the last commenter the election will be our last chance to preserve the Canada we know and love. The toxic Trudeau hate of some, and the naked greed of others, are poisoning our society. But hopefully our values and the spirit of Chewbacca will inspire us to do what is necessary, and I'm still confident we will defeat the ugly Cons...

Simon said...

Hi Steve...good one, and so true. What a monumental waste of money going all the way to the Supreme Court when they know they are going to lose. But then nobody ever accused a Con of having a brain or a social conscience...

Simon said...

Hi John...It is a gross spectacle isn't it? Every time I hear Ford on TV I wince, and every time I see Kenney back in power I feel like vomiting. But as you point out, the way they are behaving will soon turn off some of their supporters, and I must admit those two Cons do make excellent targets. In fact they all do. And when the pendulum swings back it will do so with a vengeance...

Hi e.a.f....I used to play rugby at school, and the thought of seeing Kenney on a field being tackled by an angry Harcourt just about made my day. Like all bullies Kenney and his Cons like to talk big, but when they are challenged they fold like cheap suits. And remember they are not just fighting us, they are fighting Mother Nature, and she takes no prisoners...

Simon said...

Hi anon @7:11 PM....Yes, Ford and Kenney are very much like a pair of carnival hucksters, and Scheer looks like the main exhibit in a freak show. Cons are life's losers. They try to take out their frustrations on the rest of us, but sooner or later they all fall down...

Simon said...

Hi anon...fear not, I have it in my digital files, and will be playing it again soon...😀

Jackie, there are historical reasons why some progressive people in Québec hate Trudeau père, but they are pretty much all retired now. I'm thinking of personal friends in the labour movement who were jailed in the War Measures Act, and none had anything to do with the FLQ.

Steve, Wake up. Give your head a shake.
I watched that show--and NO, you're totally off-base.
It would seem you take Rachel's every utterance literally, and selectively, without context and without recognition of the tone of her delivery--hey, even the multitudes ages ago knew not to take Jesus's parables literally.
IWS you have no recognition of the use of irony and sarcasm. She's rubbing in the DISCONNECT and musing/relishing/anticipating Bolton's discomfiture; how Bolton'll feel as he'll have to defend Trump's latest slap-in-his-face policy pronouncement, against himself. I enjoy it, very much myself. Love her line about "shaving around his mustache while he looks himself in the mirror" etc ... LOL

Hi Steve
This is off topic but Trump the humanitarian is just too funny. The good fellas either have a deal that Bolton doesn't know about or Putin holds most of the cards in which case Trump will receive enough to save face but Bolton's regime change is off the table. Wonder what it will take to convert Bolton into a lap dog, bark when I say bark and don't piss on the shrubs.

Has anyone else noticed the changed look of Kenney? At first I thought it was his insatiable hunger for power being sated but upon further scrutiny, I believe he is no longer a virgin. Unfortunately, his bride's name is Alberta.

HI JD...I'm not sure I agree. That lean, hungry, and slightly crazed look tells me he's still a virgin. Besides wouldn't his brides name be Alberto rather than Alberta?
