Benjamin Netanyahu and Stephen Harper's Iran Bomb Problem

Well I'm sure you remember the day that Benjamin Netanyahu turned up at the United Nations with a crude cartoon bomb to claim that Iran could have a nuclear weapon within months.

And managed to scare most of the world AND the Road Runner...

And I'm sure you also remember how Stephen Harper used that speech to declare Iran a state sponsor of terrorism, and close down our embassy in Tehran.

But now it turns out that Benny was stretching or bombing the truth or just lying.

Binyamin Netanyahu’s dramatic declaration to world leaders in 2012 that Iran was about a year away from making a nuclear bomb was contradicted by his own secret service, according to a top-secret Mossad document.

In a secret report shared with South Africa a few weeks later, Israel’s intelligence agency concluded that Iran was “not performing the activity necessary to produce weapons”.

And if you thought the Cons might feel sorry about going along with Netanyahu's inflated claim.

New Democratic Party foreign affairs critic Paul Dewar is urging the unwaveringly pro-Israel Harper government to acknowledge that assertions made in 2012 by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu about the threat of an imminent Iranian nuclear bomb were inflated and inaccurate.

Well you'd be wrong.

When asked whether the Canadian government would acknowledge the Netanyahu inaccuracy, press secretary Johanna Quinney sent an emailed statement reading: “Iran has an appalling human rights record, is a state sponsor of terrorism, and has long held nuclear ambitions. Iran has repeatedly called for the destruction of our greatest ally in the Middle East, Israel. Canada believes every diplomatic measure should be taken to ensure Iran never obtains nuclear weapons. So long as the regime continues to threaten international peace and security, our sanctions will remain in full force.”

Because as you know Steve and Benny are joined at the hip...

And he loves Benny almost as much as he loves the Jewish vote.

But unfortunately for both men, Netanyahu is heading for a historic confrontation with Obama over the same issue.

A row between the US and Benjamin Netanyahu has deepened, with the Israeli leader accusing America and others of "giving up" on trying to stop Iran obtaining nuclear weapons.

And has not only lost what remains of his credibility, he is also in danger of losing the next Israeli election.

He's running from the voters AND his wife.

Likud leaders fear that a recording of an embarrassing conversation including the prime minister’s wife, Sara Netanyahu, will leak to the media ahead of the election.

An angry Sara Netanyahu is cited extolling her husband’s virtues: “The man took the entire State of Israel on his shoulders, he sends troops to battle, acts with extraordinary political wisdom, he’s read tons of books, he understands economics, he understands security, he’s got university degrees ... He knows how to talk to world leaders…

And should he lose the election, the only "world leader" who will still talk to him will be his buddy Steve...

Which is at it should be, for they do resemble each other.

They are both Cons and war criminals.

And with a little luck, they'll both go down together...

Warmongerer. And Harper would have got Canada involved in Iraq back in 2003, too. Remember his plagiarized speech of 2003? http://youtu.be/kMot7gyS2bo

yes and Benny decided to take up Bohner's invite to speak in the U.S.A. in whatever house it is he tries to rule. Oh, well so much for that.
Stevie loves Benny because Stevie hates Muslims and Arabs. its that simple.
Now as to unacceptable behaviour, Iran isn't the only one with an appalling human rights record. Canada's isn't all that great either. Did we forget our treatment of First Nations? Did we forget about the internment of Japanese Canadians during WW II? have we forgotten the Quebec judge who would not hear a case because the woman was wearing a hijab? Did we hear about the P.M. of Canada saying it wasn't on his radar when asked about 1,200 Murdered First Nations women? If being murdered isn't a gross violation of human rights I don't know what is. Yet "great racist leader' harper doesn't have it on his "radar".

When it comes to gross violation of Human Rights has any one read the Guardian? that nice article about the violation of Human Rights in Chicago--held in a secret detention centre. How about all the shootings of African Americans in the U.S.A.? I'd certainly think those killings by cops were violations of human rights.

Then we still have Canada's good trading partner, Saudi Arabia. How many beheadings did they have last year? Weren't they flogging a blogger to death, in slow motion for speaking out against some Iman? isn't it against the law for women to drive in Saudi Arabia? Next To Saudi Arabia, Iran looks positively "loose".

Boehner is just trying to appeal to the Jewish American vote, but the Israeli's aren't too happy about Benny "visiting" the U.S.A. in the middle of an election campaign. We can only hope the Israeli voters give Benny the heave and Canada follows suit and gives Stevie the heave.

hi anon...I remember his plagiarized speech well. And it should have been a warning for Canadians. That alien monster would take us to a very bad place. But it was not heeded, the warmonger got away with it. And here we are in his ghastly Harperland...

Hi David...I remember the Palpatine video well, I have used it several times, and now that you remind me, I may have to use it again...;)

hi Steve...yes it's interesting what's happening in Iraq. The Iranians are taking a leading role in the fight against ISIS. And it does seem like a historic opportunity to try to get that country to change its ways and join the world again...

hi e.a.f...yes it's good to see that Netanyahu is caught between a rock and a hard place, and if he could be defeated in the upcoming Israeli election it could be a massive blow for peace in the region. For like Harper his belligerence is a threat to others and his own country. I'm enjoying his battle with Obama a lot, and I'm betting Obama will come out on top...

hi Kathleen...I've never heard of that show, but I'll definitely look it up....

Harper has been taking the correct political position concerning Iran. Canadian do not realize just how horrible it is for average citizens of Iran, when ruled by Islam. Iranian leadership aspires to be a nuclear threat to the world. It has no restraining ideology, to not use any means it thinks necessary, to spread its Islamic version of political reality upon freedom loving people of the world. Wale up people!
