Donald Trump and the Road to World War III

I was so happy to get back to Canada just in time to see the last sunset of 2019.

And I was looking forward to enjoying a slightly more peaceful year in 2020.

So imagine how I feel to see us such a short time later, teetering on the edge of World War III.

Saudi Arabia and the Shameless Con Clowns

The situation couldn't be more dire or more dangerous.

Saudi Arabia's execution of 47 prisoners, including the well known Shia cleric Nimr al-Nimr, has set off a firestorm in the region.

It's threatening to lead to an all-out confrontation between the Saudis and the Iranians.

And to make even matters worse, it turns out we're caught up in this madness, because Stephen Harper and his Con clowns didn't know what they were doing.

Benjamin Netanyahu's Speech and the Cowardice of Stephen Harper

Well it couldn't have been a more grotesque spectacle, the war criminal Benjamin Netanyahu addressing the U.S. Congress, and claiming that all he's interested in is peace.

When the only reason he was there was to try to improve his chances of winning the next Israeli election, try to start a war with Iran, and try to stick a fork into Obama.

And the only consolation is that his ghastly speech is getting some REALLY bad reviews.

Benjamin Netanyahu and Stephen Harper's Iran Bomb Problem

Well I'm sure you remember the day that Benjamin Netanyahu turned up at the United Nations with a crude cartoon bomb to claim that Iran could have a nuclear weapon within months.

And managed to scare most of the world AND the Road Runner...

And I'm sure you also remember how Stephen Harper used that speech to declare Iran a state sponsor of terrorism, and close down our embassy in Tehran.

But now it turns out that Benny was stretching or bombing the truth or just lying.

The Incredible Shrinking Steve Harper

Golly. If Stephen Harper's stature on the world stage keeps shrinking we're going to have to swap that magnifying glass for a microscope eh?

Yesterday we found out how low he has sunk. When the New York Times accused him of muzzling scientists in a monstrous attempt to "guarantee public ignorance."

Today we found out how small he has shrunk.

Netanyahu, Harper, and the War on Obama

The other night I accused Stephen Harper of timing his decision to sever ties with Iran in order to ratchet up tensions, just before Benjamin Netanyahu went ballistic.

Why is he doing this? My guess is that he's saying what he's saying because he knows he can't attack, especially before the U.S. election, barring a yellow light from Obama, which he's not getting. Sheer frustration at what he sees as Obama's obtuseness is causing these undiplomatic outbursts.

By trying to create the sense that the crisis was reaching a critical point, that Israel could strike at any time, which could only put more pressure on Obama to surrender to Netanyahu's demands for a so-called red line. And give Mitt Romney fodder to claim that even Canada was doing more than Obama to contain the Iranian Threat.

Stephen Harper and the Red Line

When it finally hit me why Stephen Harper suddenly cut ties with Iran, I felt slightly dizzy.

So great was my horror.

For it seems obvious to me that  it had little or nothing to do with security, and everything to do with an orchestrated campaign by Benjamin Netanyahu to try to blackmail Obama when he is most vulnerable.

And force him to set a so-called "red line" for joining the Israelis in an attack on Iran.

Benny and Steve and the War with Iran

As you know I'm a real romantic eh? And I'm usually a sucker for movies about two men in love. Especially if they're R-rated.

But I think it's safe to say that with the Middle East on the brink of a war that could kill millions of people, the last thing I needed to see was Stephen Harper on his knees blowing  Benjamin Netanyahu.

John Baird and the Minister of Margaritas

I've always had my doubts about the wisdom of making John Baird our Foreign Affairs Minister, instead of the Minister of Margaritas.

But now I feel that even more strongly.

“Hitler wrote Mein Kampf more than a decade before he became Chancellor of Germany and they take these issues pretty seriously here. But it’s not just an Israeli question. The fear in the Arab world, in the entire region, the Gulf, and the entire Middle East is palpable on this issue. And it’s increasingly a significant security threat for the West: for Canada, the United States and our allies in Europe.”

Because although I loathe the fascist Iranian regime with every bone in my body, I much prefer to see it implode under the weight of sanctions, and the anger of its own people.

Rather than see us play into the hands of the monstrous Mullahs, and the hawks in Benjamin Netanyahu's settler regime, and trigger an all-out war in the Middle East.

Stephen Harper Goes To War Again

He's always been a nerdly chickenhawk. Posing as a Great Warrior Leader, inflating and deflating like a blimp, depending on the prevailing political winds.

He's never seen a war he didn't like, from the one in 1812 to the one in Libya, and now Stephen Harper is frantically flapping his stubby wings again, trying to pump up a war against Iran.

Which is particularly alarming, since tensions in the region are escalating, and the more political leaders talk about war the more likely it becomes.

Edging Closer to a Nuclear Nightmare

When I think of a nuclear nightmare I think of the ghost towns of Chernobyl.

Twenty-five years after the reactor exploded...

I think of the deformed children, the cancers, and the poisoned earth.

Or I think about the continuing horror of Fukushima.

Where the hell fires still burn.

But now I see that I also have to worry about a new report.

Are Israel and the U.S. About to Attack Iran?

The Guardian seems to think so.

The Ministry of Defence believes the US may decide to fast-forward plans for targeted missile strikes at some key Iranian facilities. British officials say that if Washington presses ahead it will seek, and receive, UK military help for any mission, despite some deep reservations within the coalition government.

And in Israel Benjamin Netanyahu is apparently seeking cabinet approval for a strike.

And testing a nuclear missile.

Israel test-fired a ballistic missile from a military base in central Israel on Wednesday, Israel Radio said.

The report said the launch was carried out from the Palmachim facility. It quoted a Defence Ministry statement as saying the launch was aimed at testing the missile's propulsion system. Israel has Jericho missiles widely believed to be capable of carrying nuclear warheads.

Can you imagine what might happen with the world teetering on the edge of a new and brutal recession? Especially since the Iranians would no doubt attack the Saudi oil fields. Which would require further military action, and would almost certainly unleash a new wave of terrorism on countries supporting the attack on its nuclear facilities.

How do you think other nuclear powers like China and Russia that support Iran might react?

And do you think Stephen Harper would keep Canada on the sidelines, when his government is practically a tool of the Netanyahu settler regime?

Oh wait I think I can hear him now....

You know I think it's about time that Occupy Wall Street (OWS) changed it's name to (OSW) or Operation Save the World.

Because forget that little economic crisis, I think I can hear the horsemen of the Apocalypse.

And time is running out...

Is Iran's Ahmadinejad Really Jewish?

Since it has been demonstrated again and again that some of the worst homophobes are actually closeted gays who hate themselves.

Could the crazed anti-Semite Ahmadinejad actually be a self loathing Jew?

If it's true it could be a really bad thing. Because everyone knows that religious converts make the worst kind of fanatics.

And Ahmedinajad now belongs to an apocalyptic sect that believes an Imam is going to come out of a well, trigger the Final Battle of Armageddon. And that's a GOOD thing.

But not so good for the rest of us.

On the other hand if he really is Jewish, that could be a useful thing to know.

At least I hope so eh?

Because I've sent a copy of the Telegraph story off to the Revolutionary Guard's Department of Jew Problems.

And I'm counting on a quick response.

---------------------------------------------------------------------

P.S. I also let them know that I have reason to suspect that the Zionist agent is also secretly gay. Because he's such a homophobe. But I'm sure that will come out at his trial...

Iran: When the Regime Tries to Cheat

Isn't it nice to know that as 100-thousand pro-democracy demonstrators put on black to mourn their dead.

The midget monkey Ahmedinejad has to photoshop his rallies.

To make them look bigger.

But of course anything they can do.

The freedom side can do better.

So all his brutish supporters can count on is violence.

Listen to the sounds of pain and freedom.

Down with the fascists.

Long live people power...

Iran: When Freedom is Everything

As I explained in my last post, I'm in full summer mode. But as I lay in the sun in this field of poppies this morning they reminded me of this story.

Of the blood and the bravery, and the desperate struggle of the Iranian people against the bastard fascists..

Whose filthy savagery makes my blood boil. And makes me feel so helpless.

And then I read this account.

At times, Mousavi's victory march threatened to crush us amid walls of chanting men and women. They fell into the storm drains and stumbled over broken trees and tried to keep pace with his vehicle, vast streamers of green linen strung out in front of their political leader's car. They sang in unison, over and over, the same words: "Tanks, guns, Basiji, you have no effect now." As the government's helicopters roared overhead, these thousands looked upwards and bayed above the clatter of rotor blades: "Where is my vote?" Clichés come easily during such titanic days, but this was truly a historic moment.

And I saw this video...

And my spirits soared again.

Now all I want to say is long live the heroic struggle of the Iranian people.

I may be lying among the poppies, but my heart is in the clouds.

Because I know that tomorrow will be better.

"We should go under the rain.
We should wash our eyes,
And we should see the world in a different way."

Go go go my brave and beautiful brothers and sisters.

The whole world is watching and cheering you on.

Because freedom is EVERYTHING...

--------------------------------------

P.S. I've resisted signing up for Twitter...because quite frankly I don't need more online excitement.

But after reading this.

Now I think I will....

The Hanging of Delara Darabi

As if we needed any more evidence that the Mad Mullah-o-cracy in Iran is a barbaric and brutish regime.

Here's their latest young victim.

You know what shocks me the most about these medieval bastards is not just how backward they are...but how cruel they are as well.

The execution, which happened on Friday, caught everyone by surprise. Not only had there been no formal notification 48 hours before the hanging, as required under Iranian law, but, just a fortnight earlier, Ms Darabi had actually been granted a two-month stay of execution by the head of the judiciary. The day before their daughter would end up being walked to the gallows, her parents had even visited her in jail where she had excitedly informed them there was to be an appeal so new evidence could be heard. Twenty-four hours later, she was dead.

But then why should I be surprised by anything that happens in a country with this record?

Iran leads the world in executing juvenile offenders, according to human rights groups, accounting for two-thirds of such deaths in the past four years. The hanging of Ms Darabi was the second known execution of a juvenile offender this year and lawyers in Tehran estimate that at least 130 more are waiting on death row.

A country that hangs gay kids.

For the crime of being gay.

And oppresses and kills women for being women.

Delara Darabi left these paintings behind.

To mark her short life.

And I like this one the best.

Because although I don't know what poor Delara intended.

I like to think it's those cruel child murderers screaming in agony.

As they burn in the fires of JUSTICE...

The Big Lie: The Gulf of Tonkin to the Straits of Hormuz

I don't doubt that Iran's Revolutionary Guards are quite capable of harrassing U.S. warships to try to provoke an international incident on the eve of George Bush's trip to the Middle East.

But what really happened out there? And is it being made to appear WORSE than it really was?

I also realize that the Iranian Mullahocracy is a barbarous and brutal terrorist regime that lies about almost EVERYTHING.

But did the thugs in the boats actually say this?

"I am coming to you. ... You will explode after ... minutes."

And why does that voice sound so strange?

I'm no expert.... but I very much doubt that anyone could speak in such a monotone voice ... if they were racing along in a speedboat. Facing the wrath of the U.S. navy.

So where did it come from? A shore radio somewhere....or a passing tanker that you clearly see in the raw footage? Or was it added later ?

I'd like to believe the Pentagon's version .....but they already started one war with a naval confrontation that never happened.

....signals intelligence may have actually misled President Johnson and other top policymakers about the nature of the 1964 Gulf of Tonkin incident, in which a supposed North Vietnamese attack on US forces triggered a major escalation in the war.

Furthermore, US intelligence intercepted no communications or radar emissions associated with the assumed attack.

Then there was the Big Lie over the invisible weapons of mass destruction that they used to start the war with Iraq.

And the Big Lie over the Iranian nuclear program...that George Bush was trying to use start a war with that country.

The one he was still beating the drum for today.

Which makes me wonder whether he has decided that a war with Iran is the only way to save the Republicans. The only way to recreate the fear and the frenzied patriotism of 911.

And makes me worry that Dick Cheney and the Chimp are still determined to roll the dice...no matter what anyone says.

In a world of crazy thugs and liars....

Who ARE you supposed to believe?

--------------------------------------------------
UPDATE:

Pentagon now admits the threatening message did not come from the Iranian speedboats.

Pentagon officials said they could not rule out that the broadcast might have come from shore, or from another ship nearby...

The bad news?

After the War with Iran .... also known as the Great Apocalypse.

We'll find out it came from the Pentagon...

Iran Hangs Another Gay Man

Remember the story of the young gay man in Iran who was going to be hanged for having sex with other boys his age...when he was just thirteen?

And how it looked as if his life was going to be spared?

Well ....sadly... it wasn't.

The International Gay and Lesbian Human Rights Commission (IGLHRC) has learned today that despite an order by the Iranian Chief Justice to nullify his death sentence, Mr. Makvan Mouloodzadeh was executed in Kermanshah Central Prison at 5 a.m. this morning, Iranian time. Neither Mr. Mouloodzadeh's family or his lawyer were told about the execution until after it occurred.

Mr. Mouloodzadeh was a 21-year-old Iranian citizen who was accused of committing anal rape (ighab) with other young boys when he was 13 years old. However, at Mr. Mouloodzadeh's trial, all the witnesses retracted their pre-trial testimonies, claiming to have lied to the authorities under duress. Makvan also told the court that his confession was made under coercion and pleaded not guilty.

One more murdered gay man.....in a country where 4,000 are believed to have been executed.

Too bad. For a moment I allowed myself to believe that along with all the others who raised their voices in protest I had actually helped save a life. I guess it was too good to be true.

But it doesn't matter The struggle for freedom continues.

The evil religious fanatics who run that country may not be building a nuclear bomb.

But they're still guilty of crimes against humanity.

And one day they'll pay for them...

-----------------------------------------------

P.S. One big gay blog in the U.S. suggested that rather than sending letters and postcards to Iranian officials.... we might want to send them dog shit in the mail instead.

But that wouldn't work for me.

Even if I could put my old lab on a four poops a day regime....and collected all the other poop in the doggie park...I still wouldn't have enough to let them know how I really feel....

Iran: Gay Sex Execution Halted

About two weeks ago I wrote a post about how the Iranians were planning to hang another young gay man...for having sex with a friend when both of them were thirteen.

And I asked everyone to write to the Iranian authorities.... like people all over the world were doing. Even though I didn't think it would do any good.

Well I was wrong.

The Chief Justice of the Islamic Republic of Iran has intervened in the case of a 21-year old found guilty of multiple counts of anal rape (ighab), allegedly committed when he was 13 years old.

Makvan Mouloodzadeh, a 21 year old an Iranian Kurd, had been sentenced to death in the city of Paveh, following his conviction for an act of sodomy that he committed while still a minor, aged 13, with another minor, also aged 13.

"This is a stunning victory for human rights and a reminder of the power of global protest,"

Isn't that great?

Of course you can't trust the Iranian religious fanatics as far as you can hork....

Homosexuals deserve to be executed or tortured and possibly both, an Iranian leader told British MPs during a private meeting at a peace conference...

He argued that homosexuality is against human nature and that humans are here to reproduce. Homosexuals do not reproduce.

Or stick a fork in them.

But any good news out of Iran is something to celebrate.

Thanks to those who helped put pressure on the Mullah regime.

As the old Jewish sage said....save a life.

And you save the world...

Another Anti-Gay Outrage in Iran

In the brutish Islamic Republic of Iran where they hanged these gay teenagers...

The religious fascists are at it again.

They are planning to lynch another young man for having gay sex with a friend when they were both thirteen.

Child offender Makwan Moloudzadeh, an Iranian Kurd, is believed to be at risk of imminent execution. He has reportedly been convicted of lavat-e iqabi (anal sex) for the alleged rape of a 13-year-old boy.

Makwan Moloudzadeh was aged 13 at the time of the alleged offence. His death sentence has been passed to the Office for the Implementation of Sentences and he is due to be executed in public, near his home.

Prior to his trial and conviction, on or around 7 October 2006 Makwan Moloudzadeh was reportedly paraded through the streets of Paveh riding on a donkey, with his head shaved. People in the street shouted abuse and threw things at him.

Help spread the word about this latest outrage.

And/or use the link on this page to send a message to the Iranian Embassy in Ottawa.

I'm afraid I can't bring myself to believe it will do any good. But you never know. So it's worth the effort to try to save a young life.

And at least you can tell them what monstrous fascists and religious crazies they are.

How they disgust and offend us. And how we can't wait for the day when the Iranian people are finally free.

And the mad mullahs are hanging from their own gallows.

Just so they know...
