The Sun and the Old Homophobe

I don't really know what to say about this latest piece of homophobic garbage from Peter Worthington.

That Sudbury Steve hasn't said already.

Except is it dementia? Did he write it in his pyjamas? Or did the dog write it for him?

But then I remembered that Poppy Worthington has been a creepy homophobe since the dawn of time....or the Battle of Thermopylae.

Advocates — or at least defenders — of gays openly serving in the military point to ancient Sparta where military service was revered. Sparta remains to this day as a symbol of military defiance, courage, loyalty and stoicism. Remember Thermopylae.

In Sparta, boys were taken from their mothers at age seven and began an initiation that would make them soldiers. Each youth had a trained soldier as a “mentor,” and this relationship could have sexual overtones or straight friendship.

Because he was there eh? In the flower of his youth.

And the Toronto Sun has been a homophobic, gay baiting rag FOREVER.

Poppy, Poppy, PLEASE. It's the 21st Century, not 480 BC. Nowadays young people join the military to serve their country. Not service their mentors. Gawd.

And you're insulting every gay and lesbian soldier that ever served in our military. You bastard.

Oh well. I always knew that Worthington wrote that column eh?

Only a pathetic old homophobe would write that kind of weird bullshit.

Only a hideous gay baiting tabloid would publish it.

And the dog is way too talented...
