Why Are We Paying for Con Propaganda?

They are the most sinister government government in Canadian history. The masters of the Big Lie.

But who will save us from their foul propaganda?

How dare they make us pay for it?

And when is enough ENOUGH?

An examination by The Canadian Press reveals ad budgets geared to promoting economic success have ballooned under the Conservatives since the 2008 global downturn.

The ad spending data does not include the current fiscal year, 2012-13, for which Treasury Board last spring approved $16 million in "economic action plan" advertising.

There was also another $5 million for a "better jobs" campaign by HRSDC, $8 million for the promotion of cuts to old age security, and $5 million for Natural Resources Canada to promote "responsible resource development."

Can you believe that? Spending millions of dollars on a "better jobs" campaign when the Cons are destroying good jobs all over the country. Or spending millions to brainwash Canadians into thinking that making the old suffer is a good thing.

Or wasting millions of our taxpayer dollars to promote "responsible resource development." When the Cons are the ones torching the planet in the name of Big Oil.

Damn. I don't know what Big Brother would have said about all of this, but Joseph Goebbels would have been impressed:

“It would not be impossible to prove with sufficient repetition and a psychological understanding of the people concerned that a square is in fact a circle. They are mere words, and words can be molded until they clothe ideas and disguise.”

For that's all it is eh? Nothing but totalitarian-style propaganda designed to fool Canadians into thinking the Cons are good money managers. When they're leading us to economic disaster, and selling us out to foreign interests.

All we ever get from that Con cult are more Big Lies like this one.

And if you visit their propaganda sites all you get are links that go nowhere.

Outdated information:

Whether the ads promote new government programs or services is debatable. The ads have ranged from ongoing skills training to the promotion of old tax breaks that pre-date the recession.

And the stench of porky politics...

And the good news? It's not working.

The Harris-Decima telephone survey of just over 1,000 respondents found that seven per cent said the government was doing an excellent job on the economy; another 30 per cent said the government was doing a good job. The majority of respondents were less impressed, with 43 per cent saying the government "is doing only a fair job on the economy," and 17 per cent saying it's doing a poor job.

For although there are a lot of really dumb Canadians, you can't fool all of the people all of the time. And the more the Cons hammer them with those irritating ads, the more the Harper gang will look like the cheap hucksters they are.

Golly. Isn't that a consolation?

They thought they were so clever. They thought that we were so stupid that all they had to do was repeat something over and over again, and we would believe it.

Can you believe that eh?

But their ghastly propaganda will help destroy them.

The truth will set us FREE...

And of course when this Porkwellian nightmare is over, we shall show them no mercy.

For after what that depraved Con gang has done to our democracy, they don't deserve any...

Yes what a disgrace. And then there were the Harperland Con Super Bowl TV ads during the game last Sunday that pre-empted regular advertising on Canadian channels to pimp for Harperland. So people who may have wanted to watch the legitimate ad wars couldn't, as they were subject instead to if you can fucken believe it, a Harperland jerk-off parade. How fucken much did THAT cost taxpayers? The NDP filed an order paper demanding the answer but don't hold your breath, as the answer is probably lost somewhere between Pierre's Poutine's gravy boat and Deal Del Mastro's walrus tusk. Meanwhile these Con burglars are cutting EI and making it harder for people to get it and stay on it, even through they paid into it and legitimately are entitled to it. And are defiling seniors by robbing from their pensions as they force Canadians to watch (and pay for) their Goebbels styled propaganda.

It's the product of the same pointy-haired mentality you see in Dilbert, the fixation on biz-speak: "Action Plan". Two words guaranteed to trigger the bullshit detectors in just about any sentient Canadian over the age of ten, along with two others: "Harper Government".

Harper was Policy Chief for his, Northern Foundation Party of 1989. That's where his abusive dictatorship comes from.

Dictators have no ethics nor morals, what-so-ever. They all lie, deceive, are corrupt, thieve, use dirty tactics, dirty politics, are control freaks, and, all of them cheat to win. All dictators have their propaganda machines. That is the most crucial, number one to be controlled by dictators such as Harper, is the media. Harper stealing from the people for his own corrupt ads is, exactly what all dictators do.

Stalin, Hitler, Mussolini and Harper, have many of the same poor of character and personality traits.

Have a look at BC for corruption. The Campbell/Clark BC Liberals work for Harper, they too have similar personality traits. They too resort to attack ads, just as Harper does. Gordon Campbell twice lied and cheated to win elections, as did Harper.

We all heard Brazeau and his, shameful attack on Chief Spence. This is typical of Harper and his so called Conservatives. When they know they can't win an election, they use childish attack ads, and cheat.

hi wazz...it's just as well I didn't watch the Super Bowl because those ads drive me batty. You can't get away from them, they are so grating and so phony, and the fact that they are using our money to pay for them is the absolute limit. I only hope most Canadians can see through them as easily as you and I can...

hi Edstock...All I see is an Action Plan for porky patronage in their own ridings, and ads that give the impression that they are doing something, when in fact they are doing precious little. It's like the absurd Orwellian names they give their bills, everything is smoke and mirrors, and designed to mislead and confuse. If I wasn't seeing it with my eyes wide open I never would have believed it...

hi anonymous...thanks for the link. And yeah as the guy said, "you have to be asleep to believe it." I think that's going to be the story of these times that the historians will have the hardest time trying to understand. Why were so many people asleep? Why were so many so blind?

hi anonymous...I believe that Harper's hideous behaviour can only be explained by a defect in his character. For long before the entered politics he was a pretty weird character. He tried to destroy the student council in his High School and his university. Which explains why he is still more interested in destroying things than building them up, and his total lack of vision. And why he is the worse Prime Minister this country has ever had...
