Will John Baird Join The Con Leadership Race?

It's hard to believe that John Baird could even be considered as a candidate for the Con leadership, after his disgraceful behaviour during the dark years of the Harper regime.

But the Cons are desperate. With less than a month to go before nominations close, hardly anyone has applied for the job. As one of my readers said the other day, "They got NOTHING!!!!"

So Jason Kenney is now urging his good buddy Baird to run.

If only to try to make the race a little more exciting.

Alberta Premier Jason Kenney says he believes his former cabinet colleague John Baird is "seriously considering" a run for the Conservative leadership.

"If somebody like John Baird steps forward, I think that would help to enliven the race," said Kenney following a panel discussion in Washington, D.C., Friday.

And no doubt Kenney is right about that. The leadership race is deadly boring.

And Baird has always been a loud Con clown...

But sadly for Baird, and the Cons, for every laugh there were at least fifty boos, and quite a few screams.

For who can forget how he disgraced us in the eyes of the world?

Over and over again.

Who can forget how he worshipped Margaret Thatcher, and served his evil master Stephen Harper so faithfully?

Or how his blind passion for Benjamin Netanyahu and his repressive policies...

Led to him being pelted with eggs by angry Palestinians...

Which was a low point in the history of Canadian diplomacy, and scrambled any chance of Canada playing the role of an honest broker ever again.

But then who can forget how he set up the Office of Religious Freedom for crass political reasons?

Even though many of the religious fanatics he sought to pleasure would dearly love to stone him, and other gay people to death.

And then, even after he left government, who can forget how he embarrassed himself again, by attacking the Trudeau government for daring to criticize the barbarous policies of Saudi Arabia?

“The current government has really been poking the eye of the kingdom for the past three years,” Baird said during the on-air interview.

Which no doubt won him the Order of the Golden Bone Saw.

And then there's this, that has been causing a stir on Twitter...

I don't know what happened, so I hesitate to say anything, or condemn anyone at this time.

But what I do know is that even without that John Baird's record is already long and ugly enough, and it makes him unfit to be the leader of a country like Canada.

So I strongly suggest the Con clown should get, or give himself the hook...

Before he embarrasses himself further.

As for me, I'm really enjoying this Con whack a mole. As soon as they stick their heads up down they go.

They still can't attract any heavyweight candidates.

They still have NOTHING.

And their tiny teeny leadership race is still just a FARCE...

Thank you for elevating Mike's statements and profile, Simon. In the interest of full transparency all stories need to be told and heard, and the Con media is being unacceptably chilly towards him. Baird, like Kenney, is a disgusting POS and it really does show how the Cons are having to scrape the bottom of the barrel for leadership candidates. It also shows the stark divisions in the party and how Trumpian they've really become -- Jeb! MacKay isn't macho enough for them (please clap), and O'Toole (the Irish Ted Cruz?) lives up to his name, so the base wants a bulldog now that Pierre Poodle is out and Dug the Thug is a nonstarter. If Baird Man of Alcatraz does jump into the race, though, he's going to need a helluva makeup job... Just not ready! Nice orange hair, though!

Let's keep parading more of them out so people can be reminded. I'm all for it. No Harper-era CRAP Party luminary should be entertained without facing the unanswered questions. What's Vic doing? Then there's Chicken Head and the lady doctor with their snitch line. Inquiring minds need to be reminded that "Same Old" is all they have or ever had and it's best for everyone if the packaging reflects that reality.

I find it hard to believe that so many members of the Harper regime could think that Canadians have forgotten what they did to this country. It will take at least another ten years for that to happen, and by that time most of the ugly old Cons will be dead or dying. So if Birdy Baird does take wing, he too will come tumbling down, as they all will.

If the Cons got nothing then why is the Liberal social media troll army in full meltdown mode trying to discredit the candidates, especially the front runners?? Especially when they think that the Liberals are all about positive politics, which is hilarious because the Liberal attack dogs are as venomous as anyone they accuse of being the same.

Gawd, you stupid Liberal trolls get fucking dumber with each passing day.

Yep Baird is my man. Its obvious that the many old rumors such as the use of the London consulate as a party house and his nefarious deeds during visits to the Israeli nightclub scene are nothing more than sour grapes. Harper was an infallible judge of character..... well the odds are he was right at least once and I am betting it was on Baird.

Christ, it's this asshole again. You know, I'm fed up with your shit. How many times does it have to be drilled into your thick skull that criticizing a candidate's record and statements is not equivalent to smearing them the way the Cons attack Trudeau and other Liberals, to the point of sending them death threats and even spewing their bile at the Trudeau family. Explain to me how "MacKay sold out the once respectable party of Joe Clark to Harper," "O'Toole isn't offering anything different from Scheer's empty ad-hominem campaign" or "Baird is a vile Saudi apologist who slammed Trudeau and Freeland for calling out the brutal regime" is of any equivalence to "Trudeau is Fidel Castro's son" or "Trudeau wants to enslave Albertans to the UN globalists" or "Trudeau should die in a plane crash" or "Sophie divorced him because she caught him in bed with another man" or "Costa Rica is Epstein's island" or "McKenna is Climate Barbie" or any of the racist and unprintable garbage being flung at Ahmed Hussen over the course of this Africa trip, or any of the perverse and misogynistic garbage you Con trolls have projectile-vomited towards Margaret, Sophie and even Ella-Grace over the course of the last five years. If not longer.

You Con trolls called Hadrien homophobic slurs when he dressed up for Halloween. You Con trolls made fun of Xavier when he cried after some asshole attacked his dad at the Montreal climate march. You Con trolls invented psychotic conspiracy theories that the prime minister slept with a high school student and is Greta Thunberg's biological father. You Con trolls have accused Sacha of being a spy for the ayatollah and the Chinese government. You Con trolls even celebrated the anniversary of Michel's death with abhorrent comments like "one down, two to go". You Con trolls spraypainted the C-word on McKenna's office building. You Con trolls say you're "pro-life" while at the same time uttering violent vulgarities about what "should have happened" to Margaret while she was pregnant in 1971. You insult her mental health struggles. You body-shame Sophie in attempts to trigger a relapse of her eating disorder. You bully and threaten the Trudeau children under the guise of "preventing a dynasty." You wear T-shirts and carry signs at Wexit rallies calling for the prime minister to be hanged with a noose. But we're the negative ones for calling it out? Or for mild mockery of the DeploraCons who enable it with silence, if not invite it in? Sorry pal, Sunny Ways doesn't mean not fighting back with FACTS and a little gallows humor. Your party is garbage and they deserve every bit.

If you're referring to Mike's allegations, those are worth investigating, and for the record, #IBelieveMikeGibbs. Don't even try to compare this to the hijacked Kinsella smear campaign that was "Gropergate" or the libelous West Point Grey bullshit. Also, a number of other colleagues of Mike's have also come forward, and even a few of the infinitesimal handful of decent rogue Conservatives have said that his message deserves to be heard and Baird needs to address this. False equivalencies and gaslighting are the hallmark of Con trolls, not Liberal factcheckers. Go back to metacanada or your MAGA forums or Russian troll farm or Kenney's Postmedia infinite-monkey war room, have a wank to Trump's orangeface photos or whatever fanfic tripe Brian Lilley churned out this week, and leave the adults' table, MMMKay?

What'sa matter snowflake?

I don't expect this kind of wimpy whiney crybaby shit from big tough manly Cons.

Baird hasn't a hope in hell of winning the Con leadership. There are too many religious nuts in the party that'll freak out at the thought. Here's the Church Militant on the hard time gays have in the GOP, of which the Cons are a wholly-owned subsidiary:

"Conservatives know the risks of ignoring their base. Turning Point USA, the conservative group headed by Charlie Kirk, got backlash from Republican Christians when the group added gay Army veteran Rob Smith to its list of spokespersons. Smith was prominently featured at the organization's 2019 summit. At an appearance at Ohio State University, Smith and Kirk were openly confronted, leaving no doubt that conservative alliances with gay rights organizations are not without peril."

Baird's an ass to be sure, but I'd be surprised if he were vain and stupid enough to run.

Hi Jackie....It really is a sordid lineup, a flea circus of a leadership race. But then there biggest problem is that the Cons have no policies except for fascist law and order decrees and are still the anti-Trudeau party. And since Trudeau is more popular than any of them, they aren't going anywhere....

Hi John...The Harperites must think we're fools, and don't remember what they did during their years in power, and have forgotten among other things that Peter MacKay was the one who made Vic Toews a judge. I probably would have forgotten too, but luckily my blog recorded those atrocities, and I plan to remind everybody what they did....

Hi anon @12:57....Yes, as I told John, they must think we're fools. With all the things that have happened since Harper got the boot it's easy to forget a lot of things, and the Con media is no help. But I didn't blog every day for almost ten years for nothing, and I will do what I can to make sure that they are held to account....

Hi anon@12:58 PM....Listen Trolly Poley, I have deleted about a dozen of your ugly comments in the last week, and the only reason I'm allowing this one is so I can tell you not to bother writing anymore. They are vulgar, homophobic, and the kind of stuff only a Con pervert could write, and no decent person should be forced to read them. It should be obvious that it's the Cons who are in a total meltdown unable to find any decent candidates to run. There's a reason for that, and if you think we're being harsh now, you ain't seen nothing yet....☠☠☠

Hi Jackie....Wow, that was amazing, thank you. The Cons really should call themselves the Projection Party. They like accusing others of what they themselves are guilty of doing, and the more they repeat those lies, the more they are convinced that they own the truth. It's madness, but Trolly Poley, like all the others, will be exposed and humiliated. And it will be beautiful....

Hi anon @4:56 PM.....Yes, the Con's really are crybabies. I realize that studies have shown that they have enlarged fear glands, but if they are too cowardly for major brain surgery, they should just STFU.

Simon said...

Hi RT....As I told the others, I had forgotten some of the disgraceful things Baird did when he was Stephen Harper's most faithful and very loud stooge. But it's all coming back now, and if Baird does decide to run, I think he will quickly regret it....

Simon said...

Hi anon@6:36PM.....You wouldn't think so, but the Con base apparently sees him as the "red meat" candidate that can replace their favourite Pierre Poilievre, who was last seen running for the trees, or climbing one. So they may have to learn the hard way. But of course the big picture is that the Cons seem to be unable to get any new blood to challenge for the leadership, and that really says it all....
