Now Even The Media Is Calling Andrew Scheer A Clown

As you know, I have always portrayed Andrew Scheer as a deplorable clown.

A dangerous clown, but a clown nonetheless, who likes to blame everything bad on Justin Trudeau's carbon tax.

And now that Scheer is also blaming the tax for GM's closure of that Oshawa plant, even some in our useless media are starting to agree with me.

The creepy Con clown is losing his marbles

And even the very Con friendly Stephen Maher, is now accusing Scheer of spouting nonsense.

Scheer wants the election this fall to be a referendum on the carbon tax. Having decided that, everything is forced into that narrative frame, even if it’s plainly ridiculous.

It is so difficult nowadays to capture the attention of click-addled voters that politicians are forced to deliver one simple message over and over again. That means that until the election, the Conservatives are going to blame everything on Trudeau’s job-killing carbon tax.

And even though Maher spends most of that article attacking Trudeau. Does his best to justify Scheer's latest Big Lie by blaming Maxime Bernier...

It is a dim-witted, tedious message, but it keeps the base engaged, which helps the party raise money, and helps fend off the threat from Maxime Bernier, who can spoil Conservative chances in many ridings by splitting the right wing vote.

The real threat from Bernier is that he will force Scheer to keep engaging a section of the electorate that he ought to be able to take for granted, which will prevent him from saying sensible things to people who might listen respectfully is he weren’t spewing such nonsense.

And somehow forgets to mention that GM, which is hoping to focus on making electric cars, also supports carbon pricing...

Maher does hammer the main point home:

This is a ridiculous argument, entirely off target. Scheer might just as well blame the plant closure on the Toronto Maple Leafs power play.

And then there's the Toronto Star's editorial board accusing Scheer of "incoherence, confusion and backward thinking," for trying to make Canadians believe that the "job killing carbon tax" is to blame for GM's decision.

Among the many problems with this simplistic assertion is that there is zero evidence that carbon taxes had anything at all to do with GM’s decision.

The Oshawa plant, let’s remember, is just one of five North American plants on the chopping block. The other four are in places like Lordstown, Ohio, Detroit, Michigan, and Baltimore, Maryland, and the last time we looked none of those states had a carbon tax.

And to add insult to injury, calling the hapless Scheer, Doug Ford's Mini Me...

A potential prime minister would surely want to demonstrate that he has thought about these issues and has something serious to offer. Instead, Scheer seems content to bleat on about carbon taxes and leave it at that.

No wonder that, according to some reports, federal Conservatives are grumbling in the background, worried that their leader has failed to establish himself as a decisive alternative to Trudeau. Instead he has turned into Ford’s Mini-Me.

Just like I did ages ago. It seemed so obvious.

Which makes me think that maybe I should now try to predict where Scheer is going.

Which as it turns out, is NOWHERE...

Justin Trudeau is going to use the carbon tax issue to make Scheer look like a nasty little Con who is willing to torch the planet for crass political purposes.

While Trudeau enjoys a relaxing stroll to a new and even bigger majority.

Wowser, wowser, bow wow wowser.

What a scary story, what a happy ending...

Trudeau is an amazing Prime Minister, we are blessed to have him.

Trudeau’s nothing but a lying piece shit with a history of harassing women.

Ford's Mini-Me and JT's doggy, how appropriate. As Stephane Dion called his dog Kyoto, can we call JT's doggy Carbon, Simon?
Scheer's echoing of Dioxide Doug's ridiculous claim that GM is closing the Oshawa plant because of the carbon tax is a slap in the face and does nothing to help the workers who will lose their jobs BECAUSE of low demand for their products and GM's move towards electric and autonomous vehicles.
If anything, Ford's cancelling of the EV incentives is a loud and clear message to manufacturers that Ontario is closed for business and that the clod Ford is clueless in planning for the future. What will clod Ford do next? Incentives for coal burning vehicles?
Thanks for including the GM brochure that explains, understands and supports carbon pricing Simon. It is overwhelming evidence that Scheer and his beat up old Ford are perpetuating these lies as to why GM is leaving and is further proof that the Toxic Twins and their band of deniers Aerobrains, cannot, nor should they ever be trusted.

I think weak Andy has been Watching Andy of Mayberry on Crave. To the south he sees Trump saying anything all the time and getting bye. He does not realize he is not living in America and actually people in Canada do not vote for bullshit.

So essentially Scheer is now running against Mad Max to ensure that he still has enough supporters to bring down Justin Trudeau. Hmmm....something tells this plan is not going to work. Scheer and Bernier should merge and call the new organization the Loser’s Party.

Ironicly GM could have been the leader in EV. Their first car was brilliant and they killed it because it was working. I think the idea was to make the EV and then say it sucks see, but when it was a huge success, they just killed it. The second round was the Volt. They did not support it, they over priced it and they underengineered it. The third round was the Cadillac ELR. A beautiful face and underneath not state of the art.

Everybody write to you MPP and demand a subsidy of $10,000 for any 100% electric vehicle that sells for less than $20,000. We have a canditate. The Solo: a Canadian car made in China. Why not just build it in the empty plant in Oshawa? The $400 million he wants to give to the biggest polluters, why not use it to subsidize 4 million Solo cars?

Andy sounds like he's been huffing whatever residue is left over from Robbie's old, um, oxygen inhaler. Far as I'm concerned, he and Kenney can keep siphoning from the fuel tank all they want, as long as they pass out from the methane fumes well before the election comes around. Trudeau's the only one who is truly a breath of fresh air.

With a shared but firm and not likely to be challenged grip on the theocons, the "conservative" and "reform" types of both of these iterations of CRAP will spend the next election cycle arguing over who gets the bigots and racists (the B&R segment).

When they eventually realize the futility of the exercise we'll call the product of their reunification "neo-libertarianism", a standard pretense of belief in "free" markets mitigated as required to keep the coveted B&R segment blissful and sufficiently enthused. "Let's free enterprise" with an appreciation of opportunities to be afforded by the cultural struggle. They've been headed back to where they started all along. Come to think of it, maybe they're almost or even already there (or they never really left).

The picture of weak Andy on a leash is hilarious, all that's missing is his dog whistle and a doggie bag full of psychological turds ready to be dispensed as election time approaches. Poor Andy, Max is eroding his precious base and his zombie oil masters are on the edge of bankruptcy with insufficient cash flow to pay the interest much less the principle. With carbon pricing and other climate change initiatives eating into long term sales projections, rolling over the debt into infinity is no longer an option so it will be off to the zombie grave yard along with all those other free money initiatives such as Postmedia.

@Anon 2:29

You spelled "Tony Clement" wrong.

Anon 2:29, I see your brainwashing is now complete and your subscription to the rebel has produced another Con hate drone capable of spewing bile and not much else. What a pitiful existence it must be.

Scheer would have been better off to have kept his mouth shut or said something along the lines of G.M. is moving to China. His blaming the carbon tax for the closures of the factory is silly. More are being closed in the U.S.A. Scheer's handling of the situation does nothing to ensure his position. Mad Max at least kept his mouth shut.

G.M. is closing these plants because china has built factories to manufacture electric cars. Its going to be cheaper labour, the factories are already there, all G.M. cares about is how much more money they can earn for their share holders.

Hi anon.@11:48 AM...I agree, in these hateful Trump times we are lucky to have a prime minister like Justin Trudeau. People can disagree with this or that policy, but when it comes to standing up for human rights no prime minister in Canadian history can even come close to him...

Simon said...

Hi anon @2:29 PM...you're hatred of Trudeau is so typical and totally pathetic. No prime minister has done more for the rights of women, and he has never harassed women. His only "crime" is being far more popular than your twisted little Scheer, and the man who humiliated Harper, and will do the same to your Cons in the next election. Imagine, Trudeau in power until at least 2023. Will you still be around? Or will the thought of another four years drive you to do somerhing desperate? I read a study the other day about how many Republicans will be dead before the next U.S. Election, and it made me feel really good...☠

Simon said...

Hi Jackie...good one.😂 Where is Clement now and when will Scheer tell us hat he knew about this scandal,? Our national security may have been compromised and if Scheer knows more than he has so far revealed he must be charged.

Simon said...

Hi JD...hate drone is a good name for that pathetic Con. Unlike progressives Cons have a limited language skills, and must be spoon fed what to say by hate mongers like the Rebel gang. It's like they can't think for themselves, and very reminiscent of the behaviour of a cult. And you're right Conchellas are pathetic...

Simon said...

Hi JD...Thanks for reminding me about Ford's cancellation of the electric vehicle incentive program. I am surprised the media hasn't pointed that out, but then maybe I shouldn't be. They helped elect that grotesque thug become Premier and are now busy covering up his crimes against poor people and children. But as any sane person should realize the Con's war on the carbon tax will only make them look like insane planet burners. I read the other day that next summer could be really hot, and that should hammer home how criminally irresponsible the Cons have become. If they love this country and this planet Canadians will be called upon to destroy the Cons, and it will be a beautiful sight...

Simon said...

Hi Steve...electric cars may be having teething pains, but they will be the future and they can only get better and cheaper. In this country the oil pigs are still buying massive trucks and SUVs. But if you visit Europe you can see the future. Gas is more expensive and as a result cars are smaller. Thanks to the Harper years this country is still incredibly backward when it comes to transportation, but hopefully a decade of Trudeau will drag this country into a new and greener era...

Simon said...

Hi anon....you got it. Scheer is now being forced to look and sound even more like an extremist to keep his Cons from defecting to the Bernier party. The more extreme he sounds, the more moderates will desert him, and the Cons will be gutted for hopefully a generation....

Simon said...

Hi Jackie...yes, I think it's naked desperation. Scheer is looking more crazed with every passing day. He has to sound even more like an extremist to try to keep his grubby supporters from defecting to the Bernier party. And he must surely know that will cost him more moderate supporters, the ones he needs to win. But at least Scheer isn't flashing that creepy smile as much these days, and thank goodness for that...👹

Simon said...

Hi John...you make an interesting observation. The Cons do seem to be going back to the ugly place they came from. Harper held the libertarians and religious fanatics together, but some libertarians are bound to defect to the Bernier party, and with Scheer and his religious fanatics holding an even more dominant position, I doubt most Canadians will be inclined to support the final result...

Simon said...

Hi RT...yes, the universe does seem to be unfolding in our favour these days. The despairing Scheer, the advancing Bernier slowly consuming the Cons like the flesh eating disease, and the oil pigs screaming like ninnies. It's all music to my ears. Maybe I'm feeling too optimistic, but I think we are seeing the Cons turning into the Trumpling Party of Canada, and sooner or later that should prove fatal...

Simon said...

Hi e.a.f...Scheer blaming the carbon tax for the GM closure is more than just silly, it's criminal stupidity, and only in a country full of greedy oil pigs could he ever hope to get away with it. If we had a decent media they would have nailed him for that idiot comment, but the media is part of the problem so we have Maher spending most of his time attacking Justin Trudeau for nothing, only to bury the lead and mention Scheer at the very end. I suppose I should be grateful that somebody in our Con media even mentioned Scheer's madness, but I'm just disgusted...

Anonymous said...

I think you're right Simon, the Cons are more like a cult than a political party. They live in fear and need some big daddy figure to reassure them and tell them what to do. I remember some I used to know in high school, where they were the freaks that used to worship Ayn Rand and never got laid. Years later I met up with some of them again at a reunion and they hadn't changed a bit. I almost felt sorry for them, how miserable their lives must be.

Anonymous said...

I'm disgusted too, Simon. The media is letting Scheer get away with lying on an almost daily basis. A reporter from the Toronto Star has been keeping tabs on Donald Trump's lies, but nobody in the Con media is adding up all the ones Scheer is making. The truth is being buried alive, and our media couldn't care less.

Simon said...

Hi anon...you,re right, our shabby media is failing Canadians. The Cons are the biggest liars this country has ever seen, and have been allowed to get away with it in the most shameless manner. Luckily some of our social media warriors have been keeping very close watch on everything Scheer says and does, and starting next Spring Canadians should be in for a real treat. We're going to Schmear Scheer as he has done to others. And although I'm not privy to the whole package, from what I have seen there won't be much left of dirty little Andy when the Avengers are finished with him...

Our Media is at it again. Trying to make a front page negative story about Canada giving 40 millon to reading, and Justin announcing some of the funding on twitter, sad very sad.
