Well as you all know, Tom Mulcair is perched precariously on a narrow plank, over the deep blue sea. With the big question being, will he be standing or swimming on Monday? But even as he marches or limps towards his destiny, some of the old guard are hobbling out to defend him. And this has to be the most ridiculous reason I've ever heard for not firing Mulcair.
Today is Labour Day, and all over the country tens of thousands of Canadians will be marching and celebrating the splendid achievements of the union movement. And this year this day will be even more special. For it will mark the beginning of the union movement's all out war on Stephen Harper.
Well it's been three days since Stephen Harper and his Cons teamed up with the beasts from ISIS to make that ghastly attack ad. And even though it starts with the sinister ISIS national anthem, and goes downhill from there, they still haven't been arrested for promoting terrorist propaganda. The Anti-terrorism Act makes it an indictable offence to knowingly advocate or promote terrorism in general, and allows a judge to issue a warrant to seize terrorist propaganda. Under the law, “terrorist propaganda” means any writing, video or audio that promotes the commission of terrorism offences in general or counsels the commission of an offence. Even though Harper is a repeat offender.
Yesterday was the 800th anniversary of the day King John reluctantly signed the Magna Carta, the document that was the foundation of our parliamentary democracy, and the rule of law. And most importantly declared that nobody was above the law, not even the king. So it's ironic that few people have celebrated that anniversary more than Jason Kenney.
In one tweet after the other. Even though we are now ruled by his mad king, who has placed himself above the law over and over again. And has made a mockery of our democracy.
It couldn't be a worse nightmare. David Cameron's Conservatives have a majority and are preparing to carve up what's left of Britain's welfare state. They are planning to make massive cuts to welfare payments for the poor and the disabled, continue their privatization of that country's medicare system, and scrap the human rights act. But while I feel very sorry for those who will suffer from the bestiality of the British Cons, my consolation is that Scotland is now a progressive bastion.
When Joe Oliver made his outrageous statement about leaving Harper's granddaughter's generation to pay for the Con's revenue killing tax policies, he only said it because he thought he could get away with it. Because he knows, like we all do, that a lot of young Canadians don't bother to vote. And it is fashionable in this aging country to blame the young for that troubling democratic deficit. But as the crusty Globe editorialists point out, all political parties must also share the blame for not making a serious effort to appeal to them, or involve them in the political process
Ever since Stephen Harper came to power and Canada's long nightmare began, I have tried to remain strictly non-partisan and support all three progressive parties. I have encouraged them to fight the tyrant as hard as they can, I have focused on the strengths of their leaders rather than their weaknesses. Because all I seek is the total destruction of the Con regime. At this point in our history, for me, that's all that matters. And in that regard, I'm afraid I have to say that I believe that Justin Trudeau has just made a bad mistake.
Sometimes in this big beautiful country it seems like we are too small, too insignificant, too weak or too complacent to change anything. Helpless to stop the monstrous leader who is tearing its guts out, trying to change it beyond recognition, and trying to scare his own people into submission. But somehow we summoned up the strength to fight Bill C-51, Stephen Harper's plan to turn Canada into a police state. And now a new poll suggests that the bill has never been so unpopular.
At a time when Stephen Harper is trying to drag us into his monstrous darkness. By using fear as a weapon against his own people, whipping up war fever for crass political purposes, and trying to bribe us and brainwash us. While preparing to turn us into a police state, and sucking the life blood out of this country, its democracy and its values. It's great to see the noble and idealistic Brigette De Pape still standing up to him, still trying to Stop Harper.
As you know I find it hard to understand why so many Canadians are so complacent about what Stephen Harper and his foul Con regime are doing to this country. I was reminded that apathy is our worst enemy, and Stephen Harper's best friend.
For weeks Stephen Harper and his Cons have been insisting that their dangerous anti-terrorism bill C-51 is perfect and doesn't need any changes. And ridiculing anyone who suggested otherwise. But now it seems they are feeling the heat, and are prepared to make some changes.
As you know I was so happy to see thousands of Canadians taking to the streets to let Stephen Harper and his foul Cons exactly what we think of them. Because I will never understand why we have remained so passive and so quiet for so many years, while Harper and his Cons raped our Canada and its values. Instead of protesting like they do in other countries. Not when his behaviour has been so brutish, not when he's now trying to use fear to scare people into voting for him, not when he's trying to turn us into a police state. And not when he's threatening to torch the country by fanning the flames of intolerance.
It's taken me two days to come down from last Saturday's big demonstration against the Harper regime's foul Bill C-51. Because I do wear my heart on my sleeve, and it was so great to see so many Canadians in the street at last. Instead of letting Stephen Harper scare them into allowing him to turn this country into a police state. But sadly I would probably still be flying, if it wasn't gloomy Harperland, and so many progressives seemed so determined to shoot me out of the sky.
It was cold, wet, and miserable across most of Canada today. A day to stay at home if ever there was one. But that didn't stop tens of thousands of Canadians from turning out to send a message to Stephen Harper and his foul Con regime.
As you know, I have a dream. One that I hold tightly to my chest in this dark Harperland, where hope goes to die. The dream of defeating Stephen Harper and his foul Cons who are trying to scare Canadians into voting for them. By helping to create a Great Stop Harper movement, and using hope to conquer fear. So I was glad to see Bruce Anderson ask this question: is it too much to ask our politicians to inspire us?
I've always thought it was unfair that Tom Mulcair should work so hard and reap such little benefit. Because the way he grills Stephen Harper in Question Period, like a prosecutor does a criminal, is one of the highlights of my day. Especially since it drives Harper crazy, and makes him say crazy things like what he said yesterday. Even though Mulcair's son is a police officer. So I'm glad to see that all that effort may finally be paying some dividends.

He hasn't been seen for days, since he sent his shabby minions out to announce that he was proroguing the budget until April. So he's probably banging away on his piano in his gloomy basement, trying to figure out how he can restore the surplus he blew before he had one. So he can try to buy the votes of even MORE Canadians. But at least now, thanks to Jason Kenney, we have some idea of how he plans to do that. By whipping out a massive chain saw and cutting government to the bloody bone.
It's one of my fondest dreams, the day Stephen Harper finally leaves. And it can't happen soon enough. Because I honestly believe that him and his ghastly Cons are losing touch with reality, or think they can brainwash us all. And that we are all FOOLS. Because there he was in that latest Con propaganda video I ran last night. Telling Canadians that even though he blew the surplus before he had one, and even though experts are warning he's flirting with a deficit. He's STILL a Great Economist Leader...
