There aren't too many artists who can bridge the generational divide, or the straight/gay divide, but one of them was Lou Reed. Lou Reed, the singer-songwriter whose darkly poetic recordings as frontman for the Velvet Underground and as a solo artist provided indispensable blueprints for punk, glam, noise rock and nearly every identifiable strain of indie rock, died on October 27. He was 71. Equally influenced by Chuck Berry and Arthur Rimbaud, Reed’s spiky, provocative lyrics tackled the experiences of drug addicts, transvestites, street hustlers and depressives with a directness and empathy heretofore unheard in American popular music.
Shortly after the gay blogger Bruce McDonald killed himself, I went over to his shuttered site Canuck Attitude, and stole his jukebox.
I was hoping to remember him by playing some of the old tunes and cartoons he use to run late on a Saturday night. But for one reason or another it didn't happen. So I thought I'd start tonight.
I don't have any cartoons, because the good ones he used to run were harder to find than I thought.
But I do have a sweet story about how a mother reacted when her small boy fell in love with a character from Glee.
Because I know how he suffered from being different, and how he was bullied.
I also have another cute story from Quebec City, where a mysterious woman in black, who "runs like a gazelle" has been hanging little ponies all over the place to chase the greyness away.
The object of my project is to make people smile. It's a wink to the generation we are, young adults and big children. A peaceful symbol, unisex, and fairy-like.
I live in a city that is a bit grey, a blasé lover, who only takes out its attractions on special days, and often goes to bed too early.
Because I know Bruce could relate to that, and depression was his killer.
As for the music, that was hard to find too. Because although I love retro music, I don't know much about stuff from the fifties or the sixties.
But I'm sure he would have liked this one, his good friend JJ found this week.
Because in his way he was a rebel too.
And I hope he would have liked this one because it's something new but also something old.
And every time I play this song it makes me feel happy...
Too bad Bruce never heard it. Too bad the magic ponies couldn't save him.
I wanted to end the week on a hopeful note, but I also had to say something about Haiti where hope is hard to find. Some progress is being being made, but so much remains to be done. About 185,000 tarpaulins or tents have been handed out, according to U.N. figures released last week, enough to provide shelter to only about 40% of the people in need. The relief effort is lagging even further in the increasingly frantic push to dig a sufficient number of latrines or install portable toilets in the hundreds of camps.
The unsanitary conditions, experts fear, could lead to an explosion of disease when the rains arrive. And the old and the poor are suffering so much. Residents are bathed outdoors with a bucket and try to cover their nakedness. They spend the long, hot afternoons in hospital beds lined up side by side, six to a tent, fanning themselves with pieces of cardboard. They beg for water to drink.
It's hard for me to grasp that kind of suffering. But the look in the eyes of Sébastien who just came back from Haiti, tells me all I need to know. And of course this doesn't help. So this is how I cheered him up today. By telling him about some Canadians who are trying to make sure that the world doesn't forget. And by playing their song over and over again...
When I get older I will be stronger.
From Canada to Haiti with love and HOPE. Have a great weekend everyone...
I suppose I could write about how Stephen Harper's plan to sing Oh Conada all the way to a majority, left him looking like a flip flopper and an idiot.
The timing could not have been worse and the Prime Minister clearly needs someone in an office filled with sycophants to grab his collar and shake these sorts of bad ideas out of his head.
And left his pathetic sycophants looking like stooges.
Or I could thank Jason Kenney again... for proving that there IS a hidden agenda.
The guide condemns "barbaric cultural practices" such as spousal abuse, honour killings and female genital mutilation, but ignores the barbaric practice of discriminating against someone based on their sexual preference.
Which we are going to use to KILL these bigot Cons in the next election. And while we're at it... I suppose that while Harper does the Torture Tango. And Jason Kenney sings Onward Christian Soldiers...or I'm a Closet Queen and I'm OK. I could sing this song: Stephen and Jason went up the hill To fetch a golden majority. Stephen fell down and broke his crown, And Jason came tumbling after. But since it's almost Spring in Canada. And my companion Sébastien is back later today after almost three weeks in Haiti. I hope you don't mind if I sing this silly little song instead...
Because I know the joy, the power, and the glory of gay love. Where a kiss is still an act of defiance that could get you killed. But bigotry only makes that love stronger. Oh yeah....and Jason Kenney can eat his dirty heart out. Or BITE me. Have a happy Sunday everyone !!!
Oh boy. As you know these days it isn't easy to be a Canadian.
Once we used to wear our maple leaves proudly all over the world to let people know where we came from eh? But now that Stephen Harper has had his way with us, and people all over the world are calling us torture enablers and planet burners, we don't brag about that anymore.
Lest we attract the wrong kind of attention. Or a rock ..... or a doughnut. So you can imagine how happy I am to report that thanks to this awesome Canadian poet, rapper, and musician.
Wooh. What a great song. I've been humming it all day. And soon BILLIONS will. Maybe my hero Nelson Mandela will like it too, and ask the world to give us a second chance. As long as we get rid of the Cons. Hey. Who knew a kid from Mogadishu would save us? Way to go K'naan !!!!
I knew these Con porkers would destroy our country. That's why I started calling them monsters three years ago. And look at them now.
Lying like thieves. Covering up torture. Hiding behind our soldiers. Smearing the opposition by accusing them of being traitors and anti-semites. Raping our values. Corrupting our democracy. Spreading their poison like syphilis.
But even destroying our beautiful young country isn't enough for these Con hogs. Now they want to destroy the world.
So here I am, watching the astonishing spectacle of a beautiful, cultured nation turning itself into a corrupt petro-state.The price of this transition is the brutalisation of the country, and a government campaign against multilateralism as savage as any waged by George Bush...Canada now threatens the wellbeing of the world.
The purpose of Canada's assault on the international talks is to protect this industry. This is not a poor nation. It does not depend for its economic survival on exploiting this resource. But the tar barons of Alberta have been able to hold the whole country to ransom. They have captured Canada's politics and are turning this lovely country into a cruel and thuggish place. Just as I said they would. Once we were admired all over the world as a beacon of sanity. Now they're calling us criminals. Soon they'll be spitting in our faces.
And what are we doing to stop these monstrous Cons? Answer: FUCK ALL. We're still playing cheap partisan politics, instead of uniting to crush those who are corrupting and brutalizing our country, and threatening to destroy the planet in the name of Big Oil. But if these scuzzy Alberta oil pimps think they are going to get away with this crime against humanity they are very very mistaken. For young people in this country will not stand by helplessly as their future is TORCHED. And billions die. Most of the world's population will be wiped out if political leaders fail to agree a method of stopping current rates of global warming, one of the UK's most senior climate scientists has warned.
Professor Kevin Anderson, director of the Tyndall Centre for Climate Change, believes only around 10 per cent of the planet's population – around half a billion people – will survive if global temperatures rise by 4C.
So if older Canadians are too tired or greedy or partisan to stop them. Then we will fight them ALONE.
And as for the Cons and all the other planet destroyers they will feel the rage of a generation BETRAYED.
The time for sterile debates is over.
The time for action is NOW.
Now more than ever.
Unite to defeat these evil Con monsters. Before they destroy the WORLD...
Of all the stories I read this week I think I liked this one the best. How the homeless man became a hero, instead of just a guy who lives under a bridge. And how the kid he saved went looking for him...... but couldn't find him. And how it all ended happily today. With some words of advice from one survivor to another. "Stay in school. Don't become homeless," Hall told the teen, who has attended several schools and lived with several different relatives and a foster family.
Nice. Which reminds me the week is over at last. And it's time for some Kylie Minogue.
Why Kylie? Because some people are luckier than others.
Heh heh heh..... Sorry Scott. Have a great weekend everyone. !!!
Hmmm....what are they hiding I wonder? The fact that it's still inhabited?
Damn. Now we'll NEVER find out how to grow gills, so we can return to the sea when the earth gets too hot. But talk about shrinking the planet eh? Until it's small enough to put in your pocket. Follow all your friends around like Facebook. Or just grab it with both hands like this guy did...
Oh boy. It's so hard to get into the Christmas spirit, when the malls are full of worried people buying cheap gifts. And you don't want to do or say anything to offend them, in case they SHOOT you. Or they work at the soup kitchen you'll be eating at next Christmas.
To make matters even worse, both my friends who work in this mall are having their hours cut....and expect to be laidoff in January. So there goes the entertainment budget.
Can you believe that? Who knew that baby Jesus was so popular? My advice to that school in Regina?
Replace it with this inflatable model....
And nobody will DARE steal it .....because it's too scary and UGLY.
Although to be fair.... despite the Harper dictatorship and the economic meltdown.....some people are doing their best to get some Christmas spirit going.
And failing MISERABLY.....
OMG. You know for a moment they reminded me of Kathy Shaidle and Ann Coulter.
Not that I have anything against the Bitter Dwarf or the Con She Man.....or even religious music for that matter. In fact one of my favourite songs this year was this moving re-mix of Jesus is My Friend...
I guess it's like a PARABLE for troubled times eh?
If those visions of sugar plums ....and soup kitchens....are getting you down.
And the Harper dictatorship is making you feel like you're living in Albania....or Alberta. And the Christmas spirit isn't LIFTING you. And you can't get off on baby Jesus....no matter how hard you rub him. Batten down the hatches.
They called her Mama Africa. She was the first African singer to bring the wonderful music of that continent to the world. She fought the Apartheid thugs who forced her into exile for decades. She died fighting the thugs from the Mafia.
Miriam Makeba, the musical symbol of black South Africans' struggle against apartheid, has died at the age of 76 after collapsing at a concert in Italy.
Ever the activist, Makeba collapsed after singing in support of an Italian author facing Mafia death threats.
What a way to go.
Here's what Nelson Mandela had to say about her today. “Her haunting melodies gave voice to the pain of exile and dislocation which she felt for 31 long years. At the same time, her music inspired a powerful sense of hope in all of us.”
“She was South Africa’s first lady of song and so richly deserved the title of Mama Afrika. She was a mother to our struggle and to the young nation of ours.” She had such grace, such dignity, and so many good songs
But of course she'll always be known for this one.
If that song doesn't make you want to get up and dance NOTHING will.
You know who my favourite South African singer was.
But even Lucky would agree.
Miriam Makeba was BIGGER than Africa itself. Hihi ha mama, hi-a-ma sat si pata Pata Hihi ha mama, hi-a-ma sat si pa
Forty eight hours to go, and although I'm not an American, I'm a nervous wreck. I can't help feeling that something could still go wrong. And I'm not the only one. “I am so afraid some ghastly trick will be played again and we’ll wake up on Wednesday morning and we’ll be where we were in the last two elections."
“My doctor says she is treating lots of Democrats for anxiety and depression, because of their obsession with this election and their fears that Obama will lose.” The stakes are so enormous. The hope for change so great. I can't imagine what could happen if that hope was stolen, or SHATTERED by racism or ignorance.
But then I read that The Boss had been warming up a crowd of 80,000 at an Obama rally in the rain today.
“I don't know about you, but I want my country back, I want my dream back, I want my America back!" And my spirits SOARED. Because I want our neighbours to get their country back too. Just about everything about it these days horrifies me. But my grandfather who fought with them in the Second World War taught me to love Americans. And I believe that if that country chooses change it can still be a force for good.
And also because The Boss reminded me that this is MORE than just an election. It's a tidal wave of hope. Or a RISING. Like the name of song he sang today. You know this one...
Hey it's not my favourite Springsteen song. But YEAH.
Come on up for the rising Come on up, lay your hands in mine Come on up for the rising Come on up for the rising tonight
La la lala la la la la...
Forty-eight hours to go. It's the Rising Time. The nightmare is almost over. Hope is EVERYTHING....
I never expected to blog this weekend. But then I never expected it to rain all weekend either. And I don't even have an umbrella...or a PARASOL...like these two young lovebirds.
I mean really. Where the hell do they think they are........ JAPAN????? Anyway as you can see the lousy weather is making me mean and CRAZY.So I thought I'd throw a post together and take the first two sunny days off. I'm afraid this post is going to be a bit of a mixed bag. But I'd like to start with some breaking news. One of the Church of England’s most senior bishops has compared the consecration of a gay bishop in America to the invasion of Iraq. “Either the rest of the world caves in or someone has to stand up to them.” And an obvious question: To be an Anglican Bishop these days isn't it enough to love red dresses, gold bling, and shiny cockroach hats, believe in the deluded writings of hairy desert dwellers, treat women like camels, and have an unhealthy panting obsession with gay sex? Or do you have to be a stark, raving kookamunga crazy old coot as well? You know ..... thanks to these homophobes being gay isn't always easy. But somehow most us manage to survive. And I'm damned if I'm going to let these men in dresses bring me down.
I might be disappointed because I can't go surfing with him....
Because it's raining. There are no waves on the oily lake. And he's on a sunny beach in Israel.
But somehow I manage to keep laughing. Oh! What are are their names again? OMG. What am I going to do with my gay brothers? What would I do without them? Which reminds me.... I also want to put in a good word for a decent straight guy...Steven Page ... who is having a midsummer's night nightmare.
You know it's NEVER a good idea to have a fight with your girlfriend. Force her roomate to sit on you in the garden. Have your girlfriend drive off in your car. Leave her car parked on the sidewalk with the door open. And then appear to snort coke while two cops....American ones.... watch you through the window. On the other hand I suppose it could happen to ANYONE. And Steven Page is a really nice guy. He's cool, modest, funny, a strong supporter of progressive causes. And when he's not farting around he can really ROCK. So I'm hoping something good will come of this. That it will help straighten up his life, and convince him and the band to stop singing for kiddies.
Get back to real rock n roll. And stick to the good stuff. Like Alcohol....
See what I mean? BTW I'm dedicating that song to Shaney and his buddies in Australia. Something tells me those wild Aussie boys know that one by heart. Now anyone know a song to make it STOP raining? I need one BADLY...
As I've mentioned before, I've never forgiven my parents for not having me sooner...so I could have been a gay hippy...and gone to Woodstock. I love the movie... the music ....the feeling of freedom... the drugs .... the mud... the sex... the hope that a generation could change the world.
So I'm really glad to see that the man who made Brokeback Mountain is making a movie about it.
With a gay angle. I'm happy that a little more of our lost gay history being reclaimed. But what a challenge. I'd sure hate to be the person who had to decide what songs to include on the sound track. There were so many great ones. From Joe Cocker's With a Little Help from my Friends...to Jim Hendrix's haunting Star Spangled Banner playing to an almost empty field. And who can forget the incredible performance by Richie Havens who once lived in the McGill Student Ghetto. He opened the show. He was asked to stretch and stretch until he ran out of songs. So he improvised this one...
When I was a gay kid with a bully problem I thought it was one of the best freedom songs ever WRITTEN. But Ritchie says it was just a feeling.
"I started singing 'freedom' because I said to myself, 'This is the freedom my generation has been looking for - and this is it. This is the beginning of the world. "
No wonder I love Woodstock.
Forty years later it's all so different. Nobody sings about freedom anymore. Except the Pentagon. And they're just a lousy marching band.
Oh boy. If Ang Lee thought making a great movie about two gay cowboys was a challenge.
Oh no. Winter of the soul. It's snowing again. But now it's brutally cold. In the grubby halls of Parliament the nasty evil nerd Stephen Harper is trying to trick the nice but useless nerd Stephane Dion into triggering an election. And we all know what happens to nice nerds. They usually walk backwards into traps...with their eyes wide open...still yapping away. The cheese is ours to win...blah blah blah. SNAP. Which means Canada could soon be even more of an ugly and boring Con place. And as if all that wasn't sickening enough....now comes the final depressing blow. Neil Young says music CAN'T change the world. "I think that the time when music could change the world is past... I think it would be very naive to think that in this day and age......It's time for science and physics and spirituality to make a difference in this world and to try to save the planet."
Oh great. NOW he tells me. And to make matters worse this guy agrees. Sort of.
My beef is that music alone, never could change the world.....The best music could ever do in the "world-changing" arena, was and is to be an anthemic backdrop for protests, then and now. And maybe to raise a little cash for charity or lobbying...
But....but....but.....whattabout....Woodstock?
Didn't the hippies at least change the world a bit? Or did the world change the hippies? A lot.
“In their youth, my generation was ready to change the world, but when the baton was passed to them in the ‘70s, they fell into a mass depression because all revolutionaries are quick to demolish and slow to fix. When handed the baton to fix it, they didn’t know what to do so they kind of degenerated into the greediest generation in the history of America.
Oh no. Ever since I saw the Woodstock video I've been counting on the boomers to save us. If they abandon us now we're FUCKED. We'll be forced to live in a fuddy duddy Canada run by third-rate Cons. Who will give us the reputation around the world of a right-wing Banana Republic. Lock more young people up. Persecute the poor. Strip rights away from women and gays.Torch the environment. And try to turn us all into Amerikans.
So I refuse to believe what Joni and Neil have to say. Firstly, because I know a few old hippies who are still fighting the good fight.
And secondly because I think I know what Neil meant to say. Music CAN'T change the world.
But sometimes a song like this one..... in a time like this one....
Sure makes you want to TRY.
Form up everyone....young and old.Canada will NOT be Amerika.
Whether we like it or not. It looks like it's almost time to kick neocon ass. Like we never have before...
As you know I spend a lot of time on this blog apologizing for what I have written. Not always because I'm wrong, but because I always doubt. I know that certainty rules these days. But I can't help but wonder afterwards whether I was fair and clear enough... or too harsh and nasty, or too clownish, or too serious. Or in the case of this post. Not serious enough. I must admit that when I wrote it I thought the bleeping Beeb story was a bad joke. And a tempest in a teacup.
But after reading this column.... To say that you’re offended these days is to risk being accused of being humourless; of not getting the joke. It’s the same risk you run as a woman who is offended by the endless parade of breasts in magazines such as Nuts. The new casual homophobia is couched as a perfectly acceptable, knowing joke, and coincides with a general feeling that gays have had quite enough equality..... That we are getting a little too big for our boots. I wonder whether some gays rush to defuse these little brouhahas by saying that they are not offended because we are entertainers and pacifiers, used to deflecting homophobia around us with wit or just turning the other cheek. Our instinct is to josh, parry, swerve, not confront bigotry. We don’t want to be bashed. We don’t want to be out of the gang. Of course we know how to “take a joke”. We had enough practice in school and on the playing field. We excuse homophobia because we don’t want to fight, cause trouble, be different. Now I'm not so sure. Because so much of what he says is true.
We want a place at the table and, if we have to suffer the occasional sting or belittling remark, then so be it. But equality isn’t about just what is enshrined in statute. It’s about being treated with – and, most importantly, expecting – respect and consideration. You can’t put that kind of thing into law, but organisations such as the BBC arguably have a responsibility to foster and encourage it. And this little factoid DOES bother me... The fact that the song reached No 4 is depressing: it was almost as if those people rushing out to buy it were not merely assailed by a sudden nostalgia but actually waiting for – indeed, actively investing in – that “faggot” line with some relish. Homophobia sells. Because although I love the Pogues ... Fairytale of New York is not THAT great a song. So now I don't know WHAT to think. Except that one.... homophobia is a disease and it's everywhere. Two...I need a sense of humour in this bigot world to keep up my spirits so I can confront the real homophobes...and fight the real battles. And three .....that when he wrote the faggot song..... Shane MacGowan was probably drunk...
So I forgive him. I'm giving him the benefit of my many doubts. Because sometimes....even when you don't want to... you gotta fight. And sometimes you gotta laugh...
I see the British handed over Basra to the Iraqi security forces today, and made it sound like it was some sort of victory. When in fact the Battle for Basra was more like the siege of Kut Al Amar. A disaster from start to finish. I mean just ask the police chief. "They left me militia, they left me gangsters, and they left me all the troubles in the world...." OK ..... so maybe he's biased after having survived 20 assassination attempts in six months. But look what's happening to the women. Their autopsies revealed painful deaths. One woman found in “a red dress” had a 9mm bullet wound in her left hand, three in her right hand, three in her right upper arm, and three in her back. Two of the women were beheaded, one with a saw. If anyone can call that victory they must be insane. And The Civil War: The Main Event hasn't even started. But luckily for the chickenhawks almost nobody in Britain was paying attention today. Or wondering how many lives that "victory" cost....or whether it was worth it. Or how the fuck they are going to get the rest of their shrinking force out before the place explodes.
The big topic of conversation today .... apart from the big football match between Arsenal and Chelsea.... was Saturday night's X-Factor Grand Finale. And how Rhydian....the odds on favourite. Was beaten by the Leon of Scotland.
Wow. Holy kipper. From Whitburn, to a GAP store in Glasgow, to million dollar stardom...or close to it... "If he's hoping to buy his mammy a house in the Highlands, he may have to wait a while..."
Now I believe ANYTHING is possible!!! Except victory in Iraq and Afghanistan. Oh I know. We all want to believe in miracles.
But sometimes we can't...
------------------------------
P.S. Leon says his idol is our very own Michael Buble!!!! Can you believe THAT???? Yup...
His name is Rhydian Roberts....and he's the odds on favourite to win this weekend's final of Britain's hideous but mega X-Factor talent show. As well as the pride of Wales. And not only that. Something even more meaningful. For years the conservative gay commentator Andrew Sullivan has gone on and on about the end of gay culture. Which he once summed up in this paragraph: Slowly but unmistakably, gay culture is ending ....In fact, it is beginning to dawn on many that the very concept of gay culture may one day disappear altogether. By that, I do not mean that homosexual men and lesbians will not exist--or that they won't create a community of sorts and a culture that sets them in some ways apart--I mean simply that what encompasses gay culture itself will expand into such a diverse set of subcultures that 'gayness' alone will cease to tell you very much about any individual." But after viewing one of Rhydian's videos recently.... he was forced to admit he might be wrong. Which he NEVER does. Until he was saved by the bell. The terrible truth was revealed. Rydian isn't just NOT gay. He's a virgin and a devout Christian!!! I am not a closet Christian. If someone asks me about it, I will talk about it. I do pray on Saturdays but then I pray every day. But what will be will be, it's God's will and that is a great mental attitude to have."
OMFG. No wonder I prefer the originals....
Now THAT'S gay.
Who else could wear salad bowls on their heads...and make it look avant garde? Or make you want to join the Red Army. Sorry Rhydian. Until you get rid of your imaginary friend or trick....and that HIDEOUS Hitler youth haircut.
Although I'm not religious I do have quite a few heavenly visions. From the one where I'm on a tropical beach surrounded by a bevy of hunky naked non virgins fanning me and feeding me grapes and stuff.
To the one where I'm a marijuana plantation owner with a big straw hat.....and Stephen Harper is a nasty looking porker in a pen squealing for piggy treats. And I'm not giving him any.
But in every version Rufus Wainwright is always singing and playing the piano in the bar around the corner.
So I'm glad to see the Guardian agrees with me. Rufus is brilliant.
His richly textured tenor is like no other in pop: such is its power that even in the largest of theatres he can pull out the plugs and sing with no amp. That voice was put to full use in Wainwright's song-for-song recreation of Judy Garland's legendary 1961 Carnegie Hall concert, released as a record today. Showbusiness does not get any bigger.
And Rufus singing Judy's songs from the concert that many have called the greatest night in show business does not get any better or GAYER.
Because the night Judy came back after recovering from a serious illness .....that many believed had ended her career.....her most faithful fans were there. Judy Garland walked out on the Carnegie Hall stage last evening and let them have it. That is, she let them have it as soon as they let her let them have it.
They were mostly stage people, taking in a show on their night off. And being of that particular breed, they were, of course, demonstrative, They knew Judy and she knew them, so first of all they had to stand up, clap and holler.
Back then we were the stage people. Now we're the gay people. But they loved Judy. As the cops found out when they raided a bar a few days after her death. And setoff this riot.
Just like I love Rufus.
Proud but moody gay boy....tortured soul....young man of many faces...chrystal meth survivor...and now a bright Canadian star lighting up the show biz universe.
You can't ask for a better story than that.
Although as Canadians...wasn't it OBVIOUS long ago that this kid was going places?
Yup.
Never mind those heavenly visions. These days a Canadian story with a happy ending. Or a new beginning.
Is more than good enough...
---------------------------------------
P.S. I guess I should also include a video to show you how far he's come. And this version of a Leonard Cohen song is one of my favourites...
Sunset on the waterfront. The sky lights up like gold. But it's only four fucking-o-clock in the afternoon. The horror. The horror. The darkness of Canada in November is closing in on me. Help!!!!
It's so hard to be my cheery self. If the gloom doesn't get me down. The news does... The prospect of living in a fascist country can be soooooo DEPRESSING. So I thought I'd try to lighten things up by looking for some new videos to add to my awesome collection. Starting with the oldies on Andrew's list.
But I didn't like any of them...except for the gay classic Smalltown Boy....and that's hardly the song you want to listen to at this time of the year. Unless you're planning to commit suicide.
And then there was the video of the guy who burns his balls trying to light a candle with a flaming fart. But it didn't do it for me either. What an idiot. Didn't anybody tell him you're supposed to use a Bic lighter or a match.....not a Zippo?
Until....just as I was about to give up.... I hit the mother lode.
I stumbled across a buried treasure that I honestly believe MUST be recognized as perhaps the worst music video ever made!!! But you be the judge....
Ooga chakka... Ooga chakka. What a feeling. What a hoot. It's so bad....... it's TERRIBLE!!!! But it did make me forget the gloom and my troubles....for at least five minutes. While I changed my underpants.
Until I remembered that Stephen Harper and his neocon thugs are STILL in power.Tomorrow it will get darker sooner that it did today.
