It's now been quite a few years since the hideous Rex Murphy regularly disgraced the CBC's flagship news program The National, with his reactionary views and his Big Oil propaganda.
But Murphy is still around, still pimping for the tar sands, still going after Justin Trudeau as only a rabid Con could.
And since he is no doubt bitterly disappointed by the election result, he's now venting his fury on those who would dare ask Andrew Scheer whether he's a religious bigot.
It's been a long time since I read anything from Rex Murphy, and a long time since I've seen him, although he lives in my neighbourhood.
Which is a good thing since I despise that ghastly little oil pimp, and I'm always afraid I might bump into him. And say something I might regret later.
In fact for one magic moment this summer I thought he had retired.
But no. He's still around and as disgusting as ever.
I haven't read or heard anything by Rex Murphy for so long, that I thought he was missing in action, or retired, or dead.
But no, the crusty old oil pimp is still going, still ranting and raving over at the National Post.
And he's just as ghastly as he ever was...
For years I have tried to avoid watching the CBC National on Thursdays so as to avoid the At Issue panel.
For it was always a Con clown show under Big Daddy Mansbridge, and judging from what I've seen so far, will remain that way under the very Con-friendly Rosemary Barton.
A horror show of dead pundits walking, the Rue Morgue of journalism. Hopelessly out of touch with the new generation. And still as Con as they come.
But at least there's one thing apparently gone from the National, that I won't miss at all.
Something small, but also big, and loud, and definitely very annoying.
It's been just over a week since the result of the Brexit referendum shocked the world.
And triggered what can only be described as a racist horror show.
Police in Britain have recorded a dramatic rise in racist attacks in the wake of Brexit, with five times the usual number of incidents reported in the week since the country voted in a referendum to leave the European Union.
But don't expect the ghastly Con tea bagger Rex Murphy to be concerned about that.
And so it ends, for him. Jian Ghomeshi has apologized, and avoided another trial for sexual assault.
Jian Ghomeshi stood before an open court today and apologized for his "sexually inappropriate" behaviour against a former CBC employee who had accused him of sexual assault — a charge that was then dropped by the Crown attorney.
His apology to Kathryn Borel and the peace bond he signed meant there would be no second sexual assault trial, and ended the legal ordeal the former CBC radio host has faced since Toronto police laid sexual assault charges against him in 2014.
But if he got off lightly as far as I'm concerned, so did the CBC.
As you know, I frequently question the judgement of the hapless stooges who run the CBC.
I question how they let a shabby tea bagger and climate change denier like Rex Murphy act like the high priest of Big Oil on The National, their flagship news program.
Or for that matter, why on the day the Duffy verdict came down, with its scathing criticism of the Harper PMO, the National led its newscast with fifteen minutes on the death of Prince.
But then there's a reason they call it the Conservative Broadcasting Corporation.
Well let nobody say I didn't warn you. I predicted that Rex Murphy would have something to say about his fellow demagogue, and millionaire Rob Ford.
And sure enough he did.
And the only thing I regret is that my warning wasn't strong enough.
For this diatribe couldn't be more obscene.
As I pointed out recently, Big Oil's sinking fortunes are driving its faithful hooker Rex Murphy over the deep end.
He has been using his bully pulpits on The National and in the National Post to blame everybody but Stephen Harper for the dire situation in Alberta.
But even by his low standards this deranged rant is absolutely outrageous.
With Bernie Sanders seemingly headed for a decisive victory in tomorrow's New Hampshire primary, it seems that the Millionaire's Club is starting to feel the heat, or the Bern.
For first there was Rex Murphy on the National, denouncing Sanders for his class politics, and suggesting he's a communist.
Even though that tool of Big Oil is a millionaire, and lives in one of the glitziest condos in my neighbourhood. So it's yet another conflict of interest to add to Rexy's record.
And then yesterday, charging out of the gate like an enraged bull, came that other well known millionaire.
In my last post I argued that the CBC should fire the Con clown Rex Murphy, for promoting the Energy East pipeline.
While being paid by Big Oil to give speeches glorifying their dubious achievements.
And for attacking Justin Trudeau, and acting like Rona Ambrose's spokesman, on the CBC's flagship news show The National.
Well now in the National Post, Murphy has taken his deranged campaign one step further.
Once upon a time I used to fly though the air like Peter Pan in search of the remote control, whenever the ghastly Rex Murphy popped up on my big TV.
In a desperate attempt to change the channel, before his oily fumes started pouring out of every orifice, and before that scary bulging eye started following me around the room.
But now I just sit there staring numbly at the screen and wondering: why is that Con teabagger on the CBC? Is this Canada or Trumpville?
And this is just the latest reason why I think he should be fired.
The other day I wrote about how shocked I was to see that Michelle Rempel hadn't said a word, or tweeted a single solitary line, about that horrifying pepper spray attack on a group of Syrian refugees in Vancouver.
And that even though she is the Con's new shadow minister of immigration and REFUGEES, she hadn't condemned the attack, or offered up a word of sympathy.
So today I went back to her Twitter feed to see if the situation had changed.
Only to find myself staring at this ghastly tweet.
It couldn't have been a more jarring contrast. While negotiators in Paris worked desperately to put the finishing touches on a historic climate change deal.
And prepared to celebrate its successful conclusion.
Back in Toronto, the Con clown and climate change denier Rex Murphy was clearly not pleased.
Mounting his Petromedia Postmedia pulpit, to blow hot air out of every oily orifice.
As only he can...
If there was any doubt that CBC management has either lost its moral compass, or its marbles, now there can be none.
For all you have to do to arrive at that conclusion is read how they are defending Amanda Lang.
So, let's add it up: the government thought RBC did something wrong and RBC apologized for doing something wrong. But Lang said they didn't, and now CBC management says she's "technically correct."
Which couldn't be more absurd.
Or watch Rex Murphy in action this weekend at the Manning Networking Conference, along with all the other Con clowns...
It's taken them long enough, and it never should have happened in the first place.
But the useless managers at the CBC have finally surrendered, and banned paid appearances.
You might think that after all that happened at the CBC this year, Rex Murphy might know when to press the mute button.
You might think that with all those horrible stories about violence against women, that nasty Con dwarf might exhibit a smidgen of human decency.
But no, he'd rather use his last National Post column of the year to dump all over the feminist movement.
It's hard to imagine a more ghastly thing to watch on a grim, grey, fall day in Harperland, than Rex Murphy on Jian Ghomeshi.
The only thing more depressing would be a Stephen Harper speech, or an ISIS video.
But I watched it anyway eh?
Because I'm really interested in what people who work at the CBC have to say about that scandal, after seeing that its hapless managers are claiming they had no idea that their big star was harassing women and bullying his staff.
Lordy. I swear to Godzilla I didn't think it was possible. I really didn't believe you could be a pimp and a Pope at the same time.
And the resident right-wing demagogue of the CBC's flagship news program.
But Rex Murphy has proved me wrong.
It turns out you can be a ghastly oil pimp, and still publish religious tracts like this one.
On a day when the country is mourning the CBC icon and distinguished Canadian Knowlton Nash.
At a time when the CBC is bleeding to death from the savage cuts imposed by the brutish un-Canadian Harper regime.
And some of its most admired journalists are taking early retirement, to try to protect the jobs of some of their younger colleagues. All honour to them.
I only have one question: will the CBC now also do the honourable thing and finally fire Rex Murphy?
