Donald Trump Surrenders To Justin Trudeau. Again.

Donald Trump tried to bully Justin Trudeau from the moment they first met.

And in early August he tried again, by slapping tariffs on Canadian aluminum.

But if he thought he could bully Trudeau and this country, and get away with it, he was sadly mistaken.

Because (most) Canadians and their leader don't intimidate easily.

Instead Trudeau warned Trump that we would retaliate.

And just two hours before we were due to fire off our tariffs, the newsflash arrived...

Trump had surrendered.

The federal government is celebrating the United States’ decision to lift its 10 per cent tariff on Canadian aluminum, with Deputy Prime Minister Chrystia Freeland calling the tariffs a mistake from the beginning, and “good news” for aluminum workers on both sides of the border.

The dirty old man never stood much of a chance, not when our tariffs could cause American factories to run out of the aluminum they need to make things like beer cans.

But it should be noted that Erin O'Toole, our third-rate Trump impersonator, never said a world about the tariffs, nor did he bother to celebrate our victory.

For obvious reasons...

Him and his Cons are now more American than Canadian.

As for the hapless Jagmeet Singh, he said Canada should have begged Trump not to impose the tariffs in the first place, which was pathetic.

And yet another reason why that silly stooge will never be prime minister.

Finally there was Vassy Kapelos with the most disgusting performance of the day...

As she tried over and over again to turn the Trudeau government's victory into some kind of defeat. Only to expose her disgusting Con bias again, and make it only too clear why she should be fired as soon as possible.

But today belonged to Chrystia Freeland, and her boss Justin Trudeau.

The dirty old Trump did his best to bully our prime minister and our country.

But without ever losing his temper, and always being polite like a good Canadian,

Trudeau always managed to gain the upper hand.

And put Trump in his place...

Historians will almost certainly agree that managing the pandemic was Justin Trudeau's greatest achievement.

But managing the monster Trump won't be far behind...

My tv was crazy yesterday. First Singh couldn't express what he wanted from the throne speech , then said he would wait for the budget without being able to explain how they would get to the budget if he didn't support the throne speech. His lack of policy, decency and clarity would be funny if they were not so sad.

CBC news got crazy as well. Vassey had one stupid question and asked it again and again. She apparently doesn't know that the US and Canada are different countries and can act independantly. Just another inarticulate confused talking head.

Trudeau's eventual memoirs are going to be lit. The chapter on Trump will probably end up being expanded to its own 500-page volume in and of itself. As for O'Toole, he keeps writing Liberal ads by mimicking and praising the tangerine tyrant. Even the Glob and Oil said it was foolish to go after Trudeau's strengths or successes, and wrangling with Donnie Dump has certainly been one of the biggest, if not the defining backdrop of his tenure-so-far.

Nobody dislikes Freeland either, except garbage men in the media and mean girls jealous of her accomplishments. And Russia. Some "Patriot" he is, he's doing Putin's work while wearing his replica RCAF jacket sold in some catalogue and made in China.

As for Singh, he's a dangerous numpty for prodding Trudeau to poke the elephant. I thought he said Trump did a better job addressing racism than Trudeau, which must be why he hasn't said boo about O'Toole kissing Legault's ass yesterday. Didn't he want to tear up NAFTA to own the (neo)Libs? Even though labor unions got a seat at the table as part of Team Canada? Jerry Dias picks winners, which is why the labor movement has gone all-in for Team Trudeau/Freeland and ditched the NDP. He certainly wants nothing to do with that duplicitous liar O'Foole waging a bizarre gambit for the NDP's barely existent labor base, and who could blame him. Cons aren't the party of workers. Cons are the party of Arbeit Macht Frei.

Populist demagoguery and paranoid protectionism is the stuff of ill-informed fools like Trump who think they can "make terrific deals" because "trade wars are easy to win". Perhaps the next Liberal ad should feature O'Foole with an orange wig and the tagline "he's just not ready, nice hair though".

O/T but did *any* oppo MPs/leaders wish get-well to Sophie when she got sick? Trudeau just sent a very nice tweet to Blanchet's wife. I'm sure he would do the same for O'Toole or the missus if they tested positive. The only thing I seem to recall is that POS Fife retweeting Murdoch gossip garbage insinuating that Sophie "caught it" from Idris Elba. And Cons doing absolutely nothing about their supporters wishing her/Justin dead, or posting QAnon crap that she "sold" Ella-Grace at WE Day... yikes.

Nobody seemed to care that Margaret narrowly escaped a house fire either. Then again who am I kidding, nobody cared that a QAnon extremist wanted to assassinate her son. Nobody cared that cons on social media were making fun of Hadrien's Halloween costume or Xavier crying when his dad got assaulted at a climate march. They've been amplifying and concentrating the vitriol towards the whole Trudeau family for the past three months, let alone what's been spewed at them ever since JT got elected. Even Lisa LaFlamme used the word "maligned" to describe the venom aimed at poor Maggie through the WeGhazi ordeal. The things I saw people commenting in the wake of Aline Chrétien's passing -- ouf. She was a lovely lady. She wouldn't want this.

I'm glad that Justin keeps taking the high road, as I wouldn't expect anything less from him. But man, is the Trudeau hate in this country something appalling to watch.

Trump is merely supporting his Russian buddies for control of the US aluminium market. The last time it was disguised by mixing in steel and aluminium imports, this time it was just aluminium and hard to keep hidden if Canadian counter tariffs hit US producers of other goods because Trump was protecting his Russian business friends at Rusal.

Wikipedia:
n April 2018, the United States imposed sanctions against Oleg Deripaska and his business enterprises, including Rusal, along with 23 other Russian nationals and entities in their control. According to Reuters, these sanctions were imposed "to punish Moscow for its alleged meddling in the 2016 U.S. election and other 'malign activity.'"[60][61] The United States Department of the Treasury issued a statement declaring that Deripaska was accused of illegal wiretapping, threatening the lives of business rivals, extortion and racketeering. Other allegations included that Deripaska ordered the murder of a businessman, and had links to a Russian organized crime group.[62] On April 23, however, the US government gave subsidiary Rusal America Corporation’s customers "more time to comply with sanctions", even saying it would "consider lifting them if United Company Rusal Plc’s major shareholder, Russian tycoon Oleg Deripaska, ceded control of the company."[63] Department of the Treasury gave these clients until October 23, 2018 to comply with (wind down business) the Rusal sanctions.[63]
In May 2018, the company announced the resignation of CEO Alexandra Bouriko and seven board members in order to avoid U.S. sanctions against Oleg Deripaska.[64][65]
In January 2019, the U.S. lifted sanctions after Deripaska reduced his stake in the company to less that 50% and his voting rights to less than 35%.[66] US Senate majority leader Mitch McConnell among others argued that this would maintain pressure on Deripaska without disrupting aluminum markets.[59] In April 2019 the company announced a project in Ashland, Kentucky that would produce flat-rolled aluminum products for the US automotive industry.[59]

You've hit the nail on the head multiple times, Simon. From Gassy's cynical off-gassing to the tool's cowardice in defending Canada, you've expressed the pathetic nature of these individuals quite admirably. It must be difficult for them to swallow this article from none other than the JT deranged Brian Lilley
https://torontosun.com/opinion/columnists/lilley-closing-parliament-and-we-scandal-boosts-liberal-poll-numbers
which puts the Libs 10 points ahead of the Cons. Suck it up buttercups! It's proof that the Con's manufacturing of fake scandals and their Con media's biased and lame attempts to tarnish the Libs is going nowhere. Thank God we haven't regressed to the utter shitshow going on down south. It's a testament to the majority of Canadians who are decent, caring and intelligent. Something Trump's supporters are entirely devoid of. That they can still support this moron who is so full of shit his eyes should be brown is unbelievable. We're rooting for you, Jackie. I still believe Trump will lose even though it may take John Roberts to tell him to get the fuck out of the white house, then so be it.

Thanks JD

I hope so too and I hope Canada gets to send Orange O'Foole and his band of lying Republican wannabes packing along with him. Joe Biden doesn't think Brexit is cool because it's causing havoc with Northern Ireland, wonder how Canada's wannabe Boris and his predecessor Scheer Stupidity plan to square that circle. Oh wait, I know: Blame Trudeau.

BTW speaking of douchebags named Donald, did anyone bother to read Don Martin's latest keyboard vomit? He's convinced Trudeau is planning an early retirement, that he has "checked out". His "evidence" is that Trudeau didn't take a yuge victory lap when Trump's steel tariffs were lifted. Even though if he did, he'd be accused of inflaming tensions with the U.S. #PickALane

But because Don apparently refuses to check out now that he's "retired," he's also attempting to stoke divisions in the LPC by zeroing in on "Freeland had a chat with Paul Martin, is she getting advice for a coup". I like Freeland and think she'd make a good leader someday, but she's no backstabber and the media axe-grinders and Consella already failed on that front with JWR. That latest poll you referred to JD, a new one from a different firm with similar numbers came out today, and the Lean Tossup projection now shows the "team player" from VanGran losing her seat. Womp womp.

As much as I think the environment has gotten dangerously unsafe for Trudeau and his family, and a part of me thinks he should tell everyone to just piss off (or wouldn't blame him if he did), just because they keep trying to shove him out, another part of me wants to see him spite them. If he wants to, that is, I want to see him annoy them by sticking around long enough that those trademark Scottish "locks" that make them so jealous turn whiter than the snow at Alert. From Frodo to Gandalf over the course of an epic career.

Hi Cathie...Thank you, I hate how so many Canadians seem to enjoy putting their own country down, and fail to give the Trudeau government the credit for all the good things it has done. As far as I’m concerned the Cons are now the Trump Party North, and cannot be trusted to defend our interests with the maniac in the White House. As more proof of that, not once did O’Toole complain about the tariffs Trump imposed, or celebrate our victory..,

Hi Rumleyfips....I have given up on Jagmeet Singh. I have held my tongue because I still dream of a united left, but I can’t do that any longer. As far as I’m concerned he is no better than a Con. And the same goes for Gassy Kapelos. She’s an absolute disgrace and might as well be working for O’Toole and company. I hate having to say that because I have always been a big supporter of public broadcasting, but unless the CBC changes its stripes, I may not be able to do that for much longer...

Hi Jackie...I was very impressed to see you use the word “numpty” to describe Jagmeet Singh, for as you know it’s one of Scotland’s favourite swear words and Singh deserves it. I was trying to think of other Scottish swear words that might apply, but they were too rude.
I shudder to think what he would do if he was prime minister, but fortunately that will never happen. And yes I read Don Martin’s idiot article wondering whether Justin was “checking out” just because he allowed Chrystia Freeland to take credit for the aluminum victory. Never mind that Freeland probably did most of the hard work on that dossier, so allowing her to take the lion share of the credit was only right and just. The misogyny of old Cons like Martin is simply disgusting...

Hi RT...That's really interesting. I thought Trump was just posturing, using Canada as a whipping boy for crass political purposes. But the Russia angle makes it a lot more sinister, and does explain why the Americans withdrew their tariffs so suddenly. The Russians have so many puppet strings attached to Trump and his cronies they will take years to disentangle. But hopefully by then Trump will either be in jail or dead....

Simon said...

Hi JD...Thanks for your kind words. I have been hoping that all that Con shite might backfire on them, and some recent polls are encouraging. Their Cons and their stooges in the media like to believe that most Canadians are fools. But while there are indeed a good number of fools who drive me nuts almost every day of the year, even some of the dumbest Canadians can see the games the Cons are playing, and recognize that Gassy Kapelos is so biased against Trudeau she's a propagandist not a journalist. What North America needs is a massive enema to rid us of the Trumplings and the Cons. What they're doing to us is simply beyond the pale, and it can't be allowed to continue...

Hi Simon et al

We're fucked even if Trump loses... RBG died.

Christ on a unicycle, you guys are going to have a refugee flood no matter what happens in November.

Hi Jackie...Yes, it's sad news. She tried so hard to hang on until after the election. What a great woman. I hope that somehow the Democrats can foul up the works or filibuster or whatever to prevent Trump from installing some fascist on the court. But what I found myself thinking about was all those idiot progressives who couldn't bring themselves to vote for Hillary Clinton, and voted for the Green Party, or didn't vote at all. Now look what they've done. I fear those who would vote for the loser Singh might do the same here, which makes Singh almost as dangerous as the Cons...
