I have to admit I'm stunned. I honestly thought that Andrew Scheer had hit rock bottom when he refused to apologize for comparing LGBT Canadians to dogs. And exposed his naked homophobia.
But I was wrong. Somehow Scheer managed to sink even lower into the steaming bowl of excrement. And now he's accusing Justin Trudeau of dating Faith Goldy !!!!!
Ever since Andrew Scheer hired Hamish Marshall, he has never really had to explain why he would hire as his campaign manager a man who help found the hate mongering Rebel. A man who worked with the ugly bigot Ezra Levant to harvest hate for dollars. The MSM has never asked Scheer any hard questions about that, and when asked even the softest questions, he runs for cover. So most Canadians don't know much about the Scheer Rebel connection. But now that may be about to change.
It was one of the most grotesque interviews I have ever seen. Two right-wing Christian fanatics on the bigot Rebel, discussing why they could never support a harmless motion condemning islamophobia, not long after a gunman killed six Muslims in Quebec City. And then cheerfully making plans to go duck hunting together. Andrew Scheer and Faith Goldy's torrid on-air romance ended abruptly when Goldy was exposed as a neo-Nazi cheerleader at a deadly rally in Charlottesville. But I'm sure the memories of their time together must have come flooding back the other day.
It's a double blow for Andrew Scheer. The fake scandal is fading to black, but the other real scandal isn't going anywhere. The scandal where he revealed his true colours, by addressing a gathering on Parliament Hill riddled with racists, far-right extremists, and white nationalists like Faith Goldy, Scheer's old Rebel crush. A real scandal that now has many Canadians wondering where Scheer would take this country if he ever became prime minister. And the problem for our would be Trump is, it's a scandal that Scheer won't be able to escape, for at least three good reasons.
It's now been four days since Doug Ford and Faith Goldy met at the Ford Fest and had their picture taken together. And despite the fact that Goldy is a white supremacist and an alt right extremist, Ford has refused to condemn her, or apologize for his bad judgement. And yesterday was more of the same.
As you know I like to portray Doug Ford as a political ape, a brutish demagogue drunk on power who is leading Ontario to disaster. But now I think I may have underestimated the threat he poses to this country and its values. Now I think we can all start calling him a fascist.
It looked like some kind of low budget religious TV program, with a host and a guest who were made for each other. Faith Goldy, the monstrous Christian Crusader and white supremacist, and Andrew Scheer, the creepy religious fanatic and alt-right sympathizer who would be Prime Minister. Sitting in one of Ezra Levant's ratty Rebel studios, all but swapping spit, and talking about all kinds of alt-righty things. From freedom of speech i.e. freedom to hate, to duck hunting.
She was Ezra Levant's pet and Andrew Scheer's favourite Rebel journalist talking head. And for good reason. She's a religious fanatic like Scheer, she calls him "our people," she once demanded that the Pope excommunicate Justin Trudeau. And she's called for Christians to mount a new crusade to take back the Middle East from the Muslims. But yesterday evening, not even divine intervention could save Faith Goldy.
Earlier today I wrote a post demanding to know why Andrew Scheer was hesitating to condemn the white supremacist views of Ezra Levant's bigot Rebel. After spending so much time riding on that stinking and sinking boat. Well now it turns out he did say something about it in B.C. last night. And not only was it four days late, it couldn't be more pathetic.
