How to Convince Cons That Bill C-51 is Dangerous

When Stephen Harper introduced Bill C-51, the anti-terrorist bill that every sane person in Canada believes will turn us into a police state, I was sure that even some Cons would join the protests against it.

The libertarians, the ones who believe that even meat inspectors are too much regulation. Or the legions of the paranoid, who believe that Big Government wants to steal their guns and introduce Sharia Law, and that we'll all end up in one of Obama's Death Camps.

Because as you may know, they all share one thing in common: an enlarged fear gland.

Why Stephen Harper Will Be Hurt by the Duffy Trial

If Stephen Harper thought he could run away from the trial of Mike Duffy, as he was trying to do yesterday at a photo-op in Vancouver.

Which is about as far away as you can get from Ottawa, and Ol' Duff's even more massive photo-op.

The look on Harper's face tells me that he now knows he can't run, knows that the scandal will hurt him. And that it could be the death of a thousand cuts.

Starting with this one.

Why the Duffy Trial is Also the Trial of the Harper Regime

I wouldn't be surprised if Stephen Harper spends the next two months in the usual place he runs to, and the same position he assumes, whenever he feels threatened.

Whether it's by the one-man terrorist army who stormed Parliament, or by the trial of his soiled superstar senator Mike Duffy.

In fact, I'll even go so far to say, that I wouldn't be surprised if on this occasion, Great Closet Leader is already soiling himself. And with good reason.

Because as Lawrence Martin points out, it's not just Duffy who is on trial, so is the filthy Con regime.

Stephen Harper and the Day of the Duffy

He has tried to run from the scandal from the day it was exposed. Tried to make us believe that he knew nothing.

That it was all Nigel Wright's fault, and that when he told him the plan was "good to go" he didn't mean pay off Mike Duffy to buy his silence.

But now the day of judgement has finally arrived.

And although only Duffy is on trial, it will expose the ghastly innards of the Con regime.

Blogging in the Darkness of Harperland

When I started blogging nine years ago I never could have imagined that so many years later I'd still be blogging in the darkness of Stephen Harper's Canada.

Or that after all he's done to this country, he could still dream about winning another bloody majority.

Or that we are still living in the terrifying shadow of this nightmare.

Jason Kenney's Hugely Embarrassing Russian Problem

As we all know Jason Kenney is a raging Cold War warrior, who is always going after the Russians, with his big mouth as his weapon.

To satisfy his inner religious fanatic, and pander to the ethnic vote.

And when he's not lying compulsively, he's always bragging about Canada's expanding power...

But sadly when the moment came to save Canadians stranded in Yemen yesterday, it wasn't one of those big-bellied babies who flew to the rescue.

It was the Russians.

Stephen Harper and the Mysterious Conscription Story

Golly. I see my post about the Stephen Harper and that mysterious conscription story has caused quite a commotion on the internet.

With many people wanting to know more, and others claiming it's a hoax, or as I suggested it might be, an April Fool's joke gone horribly wrong.

And since I don't expect CBC management or the Con regime to clear things up, because they're both as transparent as mud, I'll probably never know where the story came from.

But what I do know, as I said in my post, is that whether it's a hoax or not, its premise could not be more plausible, for the following reasons:

Stephen Harper and the Summer of Protest

At a time when Stephen Harper is trying to drag us into his monstrous darkness.

By using fear as a weapon against his own people, whipping up war fever for crass political purposes, and trying to bribe us and brainwash us.

While preparing to turn us into a police state, and sucking the life blood out of this country, its democracy and its values.

It's great to see the noble and idealistic Brigette De Pape still standing up to him, still trying to Stop Harper.

Is Stephen Harper Planning to Conscript Young Canadians?

There's a strange and disturbing story circulating quietly on the internet. It was forwarded to me by someone I trust.

And it seems to show that the CBC wrote a story claiming that Stephen Harper was thinking about conscripting young Canadians if he is re-elected.

Only to quickly delete it a few hours later.

The Incredibly Wonderful and Amazing Humbling of Jason Kenney

For years Jason Kenney has been considered the brightest star in the Con constellation, after his depraved leader Stephen Harper.

The hardest working minister, the Pope of the Con's religious base, Mr Curry in a Hurry, the rabid partisan who could do no wrong.

But not any longer.

Because if he thought he could get away with lying about why the Harperites are extending the war to Syria, it seems he was very much mistaken.
