In the dying hours of the 42nd Parliament, Justin Trudeau and his Liberals were still hard at work, trying to pass two major bills which the Cons and their Big Oil masters had been desperately trying to kill.
Bill C-48 which would ban oil tanker traffic off the north coast of British Columbia, and Bill C-69 which Cons like Jason Kenney call the "No More Pipelines Bill."
So needless to say when both bills passed, Kenney went ballistic...
If I was the Prime Minister of Canada I probably definitely would not have done this.
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and his cabinet have again approved the Trans Mountain expansion project, a crucial next step for the much-delayed pipeline project designed to carry nearly a million barrels of oil from Alberta's oilpatch to the B.C. coast each day.
I would have told Jason Kenney to shove that pipeline where the sun don't shine, and saved a good ten inches for Andrew Scheer.
For the world needs more oil pipelines like it needs a hole in the head, or another hole in the permafrost.
In my last post I warned that Jason Kenney's imperial ambitions could help take this country to a very bad place.
Even if they did help re-elect Justin Trudeau.
But when I wrote about how Trudeau should tame Kenney, I didn't know that the two would meet in Ottawa yesterday.
Or that Kenney would put on such an outrageous performance.
In one of my last posts I looked at how Andrew Scheer and Big Oil were secretly working together to try to defeat Justin Trudeau.
In what can only be described as a sinister oily conspiracy.
And I predicted that Scheer and his Cons would pay a heavy political price for that perfidious behaviour.
And sure enough that's already happening.
I don't know when Alberta first became the vile hate mongering place it is today. Maybe it was before my time.
Or maybe ten years of the greasy oil pimp Stephen Harper made it think that it was better than all the other provinces put together.
A little bit of ugly America in Canada.
But what nobody can deny is that it is a hate mongering place.
And these are just the latest examples.
I must admit that when I first saw the new Maclean's cover, I was stunned, and horrified.
And then I almost fell out of my chair laughing.
For how could anyone in their right mind portray those five old white Con reactionaries as The Resistance?
Or suggest that they were Justin Trudeau's "worst nightmare?"
When in fact the anti-carbon tax mob is the planet's worst nightmare, and we are The Resistance.
