It's another reason I admire our prime minister, another reason I love this peaceful country so much.
But unfortunately because Trudeau is so decent, and so Canadian, a lot of Cons and other haters want to kill him.
As one of them apparently tried to do this morning.
Police have arrested a Canadian Armed Forces member who they say was armed and had gained access to the grounds at Rideau Hall early Thursday morning.
A source told CBC News the man had driven from Manitoba and had a long gun and a note with him. The source — who spoke on the condition they not be named because they were not authorized to discuss the case — did not know the details of the note nor what kind of long gun it was.
It's an ugly incident, but sadly nobody should be surprised. For I have long warned that anti-Trudeau hatred in this country is out of control.

That kind of cooperation would be impossible with the likes of the CPC. It’s a cancerous cyst that needs removing.
One sign that decorum is returning—but for the bilious ScheerCons—is that the PM has refrained from getting sucked in by the puerile goading and launching prosecutions for inciting hatred. He could, but in the nonpartisan interest of the country, especially in these difficult, pandemic circumstances, he hasn’t. As Bonaparte famously said: never get in the enemy’s way when it’s making mistakes that will ensure its own defeat.
It would be one, decorous thing to throw the flailing CPC a life-saver as it drowns in its own hate, quite another that it would rather pull its would-be rescuer in and drown him instead. I guess I spoke too soon re the polling. I'm crying again. Jesse Brownshirt is really intent on dragging PMJT and now his entire family through the mud in his war against the WE Charity. They're coming after Maggie and Sacha now too. This is really, really low.
He's trying to defend this, but I'm not so sure it's going to work this time. They're trying to make a Sponsorscam plus Clinton Cash out of this. All kinds of vulgar reactions about the "Trudeau crime family." Now I'm worried that Scheer's going to go out with a bang and call the cops on him again, and the cops might not be so lenient because they're pissed off at him for pushing them on systemic racism. They treated that would be Oswald with kid gloves. The next time, they might very well look the other way.
Jimmy Carter got out of politics altogether and went into full-time philanthropy after he lost to Reagan, and so did Hillary Clinton after her crushing loss to Trump. It was such a similar scenario, vague accusations of "corruption" and self-dealing with her charity, and an inability to get above the media-driven smear campaign, all the while the real scandal was that Trump's Nazis were trying to kill her. Which was the same thing as with SNC (Benghazi). The media was focused on fake scandals and let hate fester. Canada is turning into the USA.
In the end, though, she's ended up doing much better off and so has Jimmy Carter. They both seem much happier now doing philanthropy work away from D.C. Justin loves his mom. I love her too. And I know he doesn't want to see her get dragged in the middle of all this. I hope Canadaland gets brought down with lawsuits of their own. You could almost see the writing on the wall when this broke. I'm still livid with the Cons and the NDP, just like I'll never forgive Trump or Bernie for their pincer warfare against Hillary. I don't want Justin to be humiliated, and I don't want his family to be hurt either. A perfect storm is brewing, and that attack on Rideau Hall was an omen. Something is happening here. The Trudeau family needs to evacuate while the getting is good. I understand why he doesn't want to come to America. But maybe Europe could put him up for awhile until the dust settles, while he writes his side of the story.
I wrote on my blog that this may end up being a blessing in disguise for him, if he does end up stepping down. It's in the queue to be posted on Saturday. A little fanfic and a little music too. He'll be happier, I promise, and Canada will do well under Chrystia in partnership with Joe Biden. But I'm still going to miss him so much. I wish the border wasn't shut and we had Covid under control already. I just want to give that whole wonderful family a great big hug right now.
