How We Can All Help Impeach Donald Trump
He's made the cover of New Yorker magazine again, just in time for Halloween.
But even that the portrait of a killer clown can't properly portray the horror of Donald Trump.
The grubby groper, the short fingered vulgarian, the bully, the beast, the shameless liar who has just shattered his own one-week record for dishonesty.
The president who as the Republican Senator Bob Corker said yesterday, will be remembered for debasing his own country.
Corker has already announced he is retiring at the end of his term, and yesterday another senator, Jeff Flake, announced that he too won't be seeking re-election.
Senator Jeff Flake, the Arizona Republican who has tangled with President Trump for months, announced on Tuesday that he would not seek re-election in 2018, declaring on the Senate floor that he “will no longer be complicit or silent” in the face of the president’s “reckless, outrageous and undignified” behavior.
And challenged his Republican colleagues to do the right thing, if only for the sake of the children...
“It is often said that children are watching,” he said. “Well, they are. And what are we going to do about that? When the next generation asks us, ‘Why didn’t you do something? Why didn’t you speak up?’ What are we going to say?”
But as fine and noble as those words are, they are only words. And if Trump is not removed from office those children may not survive to see a better day.
For the mad beast Trump is leading his country to war, and the total destruction of the planet.
Which is why I like this message from the billionaire and progressive activist Tom Steyer even better.
If you're an American please help spread that message or sign this petition
If you're a Canadian, let's put our heads together and try to think of ways we can help our poor neighbours get rid of this monster...
Before he debases his country further.
Before he kills us all...

The Canadians will have to prepare for another refugee influx from a despotic failed state. The Third Safe Country Agreement needs to be rescinded. The Republican Party has destroyed the US by selling it off permanently to billionaires and corporations, and plunging us into countless military excursions in the Middle East and soon Asia and Latin America. Pierre once let something like 60,000 Vietnam draft resisters into the country. Justin should dig out papa's playbook and prepare to do the same, because the draft is likely to come back now that Trump has taken the step of recalling soldiers who've served their tours of duty. Calling up the rest of us can't be too far behind.
Where to next? Probably North Korea or Iran. Send the out-of-work coal miners to dig for "clean coal" in Afghanistan as part of Erik Prince's (Education Secretary Betsy DeVos' brother, and an heir to Amway -- how about that for incestuous nepotism) kill-em-all-and-let-God-sort-em-out private black-ops mercenary operation. Africa? Sure, why not, find "Nambia" on the map and invade them! They all look the same anyway and they don't stand for our national anthem. Or maybe Venezuela, just to teach those commies a lesson about free-market interventions. Throw some toilet paper their way so they can clean up the bloody mess. Heck, why not Mexico, the only good "illegal" is the one that's dead. He'd be a fool to invade Canada (probably at the behest of Reefer Madness Sessions) because they'd all defect anyway and go smoke a maple leaf or two. Wherever we land, it's perfectly clear that nobody is allowed to have bone spurs or avoid hitting the landmines of "Vietnam Disease" in the 54th Studio Regiment if they don't have the money to buy their way out.
It's a damned if you do, damned if you don't scenario anyway. Trump goes, we get Mike Penance and the US turns into Gilead. Gay people sent to concentration camps and women barefoot in the kitchen, chained to the radiator and "quiverfull" for the white Christian race. (Scheer's wet dream for Canada, I'm sure.) Analysts have said he's just as likely as Trump, if not more so, to get us into a massive war in the "Holy Land," because he's obsessed with End Times prophecies and wants to usher in the Rapture by the end of the decade. 2020 really is hindsight, eh? Time to take inventory and figure out where did we go wrong.
You certainly have a wild imagination. You should write a book.
As much as I admire Tom Steyer, I don't think an impeachment process will have much of a chance until Bob Mueller brings down the hammer on the Trump gang. But signing up people now could come in useful later.
The only reason they're fighting Trump is because they are not running for re-election. Bunch of cowards. I think Lorne said it best...
Although the denunciations of Donald Trump from members of the GOP are welcome, the fact that they come from Jeff Flake and Bob Corker, two U.S. senators not seeking re-election, mutes the impact of their words. Unqualified integrity, in my view, would be shown if those seeking re-election were to speak out as forthrightly.
These two senators have made their statements, but what are they doing in the meantime? their statements are all well and good, but really do they plan to oppose any and all of Trump's legislation. One has already advised no.
It is doubtful many who are running for re elction will speak out. To oppose Trump and his agenda they have to be in Congress and vote against him.
Today Pence broke the tie and voted to start screwing the customers of American banks. he professes to be such a good Christian but seems to have forgotten one of those 10 commandments, thou shalt not steal. But then Pence most likely hopes to become the next president.
IT IS doubtful many Republican members of congress will do much of anything to stop Trump. There is simply too much money involved. Things in the U.S.A will get much worse. the best Canada can do is to up its game when it comes to dealing with Refugees. We ought to expect not a few thousand, but perhaps a few million.
A. 2:54 p.m. your comment regarding A. 12:44 p.m. having a "wild imagination" may be true, but it doesn't mean he is wrong.
The U.S.A. needs war to keep their country going. It gets the citizens to "rally around the flag" And forget the real issues in their country. As to the Americans going to war in Africa, this evening's news announced the Americans have approx. 6K in Africa. Just when did a war start there? They may profess to be fighting extremists but my bet is they're a tad more concerned about China's influence in Africa.
hi anon 12:44...I must admit, I'm finding it harder than usual to remain cheery and optimistic. For although it's encouraging to hear from people like Corker and Flake, the truth is that Trump still has most Republicans eating out of his hand, and it is going to take a massive effort to take down that cult. Mueller might help change the situation, but the Democrats are really going to have to get their act together, and so far I see very little to celebrate...
hi anon...yes you're right, it would be much better if Senators who still seek re-election were speaking out, but Trump and Bannon have those Republican terrified. However, remember that the Republicans are fighting each other like never before, and that could give democrats a big boost in the midterm elections. And if the Republicans start feeling the heat then, don't be surprised if they suddenly become a whole lot braver...
hi anon 2:54...It's called education. Ignorance is the big dividing line between progressives and Trump. And the truth will set us free...
hi anon 3:38...yes it's true, the chances of impeaching Trump are very slim at this time. But they will get better if criminal charges are brought against him. And just organizing an impeachment campaign will help educate progressives about how to run an election campaign. So one way or the other our side can't lose...
I was thinking rodents and sea-going vessels.
I've seeing Tom Steyer's TV ad (NeedToImpeach.com] running on CNN. Very cool.
By refusing to publicly denounce Trump, 99% of the Republicans (who have the majority in both the House and Senate) are putting their own self-interest and party, over the well-being of their country. Disgusting!
