The Fake WE Scandal and the DipperCon Monster

It's been that kind of holiday. I should have been in Scotland running wild in the highlands, but instead I'm practically a prisoner in Toronto.

Yesterday I was planning to go and do a little kiteboarding on the other side of the island, but fell asleep in my hammock, and missed the boat.

Then just as I was about to board another boat, this monster came along.

The Day Andrew Scheer Finally Lost His Marbles

I knew that Andrew Scheer was slowly but surely coming apart at the seams, and Iooking and acting weirder and weirder.

I knew it was just a matter of time before he totally lost it

He's now only a month away from being given the bum's rush as Con leader, and the thought that he hasn't been able to destroy Justin Trudeau must be absolutely KILLING him.

But who knew he would lose his marbles in such a spectacular manner?

Poll Wars: The Scheer Nightmare Is Almost Over

Golly, what a difference a day makes. Yesterday an Abacus poll made it look like Andrew Scheer and his Cons were heading for victory in the next election.

And I really had to wonder about the mental health of many some Canadians, who could stab a decent leader like Justin Trudeau in the back, after all he has done to save them from the horrors of a murderous pandemic.

For it wasn't a pretty sight.

Why The Fake WE Scandal Is Going To Hurt The Cons More Than The Liberals

Trust me, the last thing I wanted to do today is write about the absurd WE fake scandal.

I had a hammock, a good book, and a big bowl of juicy Washington State cherries ready to go, and I was looking forward to a really lazy Saturday.

But then I saw a strangely orange Andrew Scheer in his home studio, calling on the police to investigate Justin Trudeau.

So I thought I'd better explain why the Cons and their NDP and Bloc buddies are going to be the big losers of this fake scandal.

Justin Trudeau's Silence and the Shame of Jagmeet Singh

It was the 21 seconds of silence that was heard around the world.

Part of Justin Trudeau's reply to a question about Donald Trump.

And it couldn't have been clearer or more Canadian.

Justin Trudeau 2.0 And The Road To A New Majority

I really liked the swearing in of Justin Trudeau's new cabinet. I thought the prime minister looked rested and ready to take on the Con separatists.

I was impressed that both Jim Carr and Dominic LeBlanc made it to the ceremony even though both are being treated for cancer.

And I really loved the Métis kids leading the official party out of the room.

Justin Trudeau's Wonderful Humiliation of Andrew Scheer

For more than two years Andrew Scheer has smeared Justin Trudeau on a daily basis, and recently he seemed sooooo sure he would replace him and become Canada's next prime minister, or Pope.

And so were his ugly Con supporters, who were screaming, and hissing, and fighting over who would get Trudeau's or Trudope's head.

While their stooge media wrote many versions of his obituary.

But when the smoke cleared last night, Trudeau was still standing, still prime minister.

The Electoral Reform Cult and the Vote Splitting NDPers

As Jagmeet Singh heads for the finishing line, still urging Canadians to vote for the NDP even in ridings where that party can only split the vote and elect Cons, his supporters react in kind:

And since I can imagine what they will say, if they elect a Scheer majority that will dismember our country and its values.

Is Canada Heading For A Coalition Government?

For years I dreamed of a mighty progressive coalition that would unite to topple the increasingly sinister Stephen Harper.

And I will never forget how happy I was to see progressives of all colours marching together after the would be dictator prorogued Parliament.

Or forget how much I hoped it would encourage the left to unite. Finally.

So although I'm voting for Justin Trudeau's Liberals, and believe he deserves another majority.

I could live with this.

Why Andrew Scheer Was The Big Loser Of The French Debate

Before last night's debate began, most of the pundits were predicting that all of the other candidates would gang up on Justin Trudeau.

And that he stood to lose the most in a province he needs to win if he hopes to hang on to his majority.

But as soon as debate began, it was Andrew Scheer who found himself getting beaten up by all of the others.

Andrew Scheer's Very Bad By-Election Night

They tried to make Andrew Scheer look like a winner, by posing with the Con candidate Scot Davidson who retained a safe seat in the York-Simcoe by-election.

And giving us all a big thumbs up.

But that's the only result he got to celebrate last night, for the other two by-elections were an absolute disaster.

Justin, Jagmeet, and the Triumph of the Millennial Voter

It's that time of the year. The leaves are finally turning red, the nights are suddenly cool. After one of my the wildest summers ever, it's time to put away the boat.

And prepare for winter in the Great White North.

Sad.

But the changing of the seasons can be beautiful where I live.

And this year I also get to celebrate the changing of the generations.
