Is Erin O'Toole Trying To Change His Ugly Image?

Ever since Erin O'Toole became Con leader he has crawled through a political sewer of his own making.

He has fired off one vile attack ad at Justin Trudeau, he has lied like a thief, he has debased our Parliament and our country.

But something funny seems to have happened to him on the road to Christmas.

He has stopped attacking Trudeau, and is now pretending to be Mr Nice Guy.

In my last post I showed you a video where O'Toole plays the hapless Clark Griswold in National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation.

Which was scary enough.

Now O'Toole and his family are back with another video, where they talk about their favourite Christmas ornaments...

And shiny Big Boy gets to talk about how his whole family attends church regularly.

Which is clearly designed to appeal to the religious fanatics in the Con base, who like Rachael Thomas are clearly on the war path...

For Thomas, seen here at a Guns, Guinness, and presumably God fundraiser, wants everyone to know that she is feeling sorry for the unvaccinated, believes they are being demonized, and is spreading disinformation.

Lethbridge Conservative MP Rachael Thomas is facing questions after suggesting vaccinated people are more likely to be hospitalized for COVID-19 than the unvaccinated.

During the Facebook live, Thomas also defended those who choose to not get vaccinated saying; “They’re losing their voice and their credibility. They are losing any sort of respect or appreciation within the community.”

Which is clearly outrageous at a time when Omicron is spreading like wildfire, but O'Toole is to scared to discipline her because Thomas likes to play the martyr...

And he's afraid that all the other religious fanatics in his caucus could crucify him if he did.

Or force the O'Toole family to leave town in a hurry...

It's a farcical situation, but at least it may explain why Rebecca O'Toole is apparently trying to bribe every Con MP with a jar of O'Toole soup...

Instead of sending those jars of Stornaway Soup to family and friends, or to a homeless shelter to help feed the hungry.

It also explains why the Cons are going nowhere, while the Trudeau Liberals are becoming more and more popular.

As well as explaining why Erin O'Toole is now trying to pose as a nice guy, and making those Christmas videos hoping his own Cons will have mercy on him.

But after all the terrible things he's done, and all those terrible polls, I don't think it's going to work...

The damage has been too great, the grifter can't change his image, and the Christmas message is the right one:

Never Ever Vote Conservative...

Happy Holidays and thanks for your work and wisdom Simon.

I thought guns and Guiness fundraisers went out of style sometime around 1998, when "the Troubles" ended. Besides, I thought Thomas was a protestant evangelical. What's she doing promoting Guiness?! Ian Paisley must be doing backflips in his grave.

I wonder if Justin got some soup as well or was it "No soup for you!" as the beloved soup nazi would say. Quite frankly, I think I would pass on any soup made in the tool household. It would undoubtedly be bland, foul and lacking any substance. You are what you eat they say. I don't buy the nice guy act either, Simon. I think the family talked him into not being an asshole at Christmas time though he'll revert in the New Year, guaranteed. Meanwhile, his Kon Klown Kaucus is picking up the slack for him with the likes of Thomas spreading her BS or PeePee spreading around a contextually challenged video as fact. The best part being he was called out on it by Evan Solomon of all people. They say miracles happen at Christmas. https://twitter.com/EvanLSolomon/status/1474039355069112323
So yep, no shortage of twits and twerps when it comes to the Kon Klown Kaucus. Here's hoping they get everything they deserve and more this Christmas just as they did in the election. HOHOHO losers!
Here's wishing you and yours a very merry christmas, Simon. Merry Christmas to all.

The man is an absolute fake with the signature jealousy of Trudeau that identifies a Con as a Con. He photoshopped his "six pack abs" for that joke of a campaign platform book (more like a beer belly). Reminds me of Trump bragging about the size of his hands or having his comms team photoshop his head on Sylvester Stallone.

He griped on Twitter about the Trudeau couple being flashy celebrities out of touch with ordinary Canadians, when J.T. and Sophie appeared for a photo shoot in Vogue magazine (and then made a point to highlight himself and Griselda being featured in that ultra-popular glossy magazine that everyone is talking about, Canadian Military Today). Reminds me of Trump getting pissed that Trudeau was featured in Bloomberg Business magazine, prompting him to scribble angry messages with his trademark Sharpie all over the cover, and then mail the actual issue to the PMO (who thought it was a threat from a homegrown stalker, only to find out it was a ransom note from the White House). Erald O'Trump and his long-lost American twin probably have the same Trudeau dart board at home. Let's see if he waits until after the holidays to start calling the official opposition residence Storn-o-Lago. Or Der Sturmaway.

He lied to his own party and then to the Canadian electorate about his own political identity, and that of the same deplorable Cons he tried to sweep under the rug during the campaign. He made a big deal about that phony conversion-therapy vote, only to have the bigots in caucus reveal yet again that the party is little more than the Potemkin Village People. As the old saying goes, Jesus wept.

So it doesn't surprise me that he's trying yet again to "soften" or otherwise alter his image. All he ever does is lie, a fitting habit for a corporate lawyer with Irish blarney in his DNA. Hopefully sooner rather than later, his bad acting catches up with him and the Vaudeville cane is brought out to yank him off the stage, dodging rotten tomatoes from the audience that has turned on him. It would truly bring comfort and joy to see O'Trump, rather than the thrice-victorious "drama teacher" he and his wretched hive of scum and villainy love to pick on and underestimate, being the one who ends up taking a long walk in the yellow snow. Erin O'Scrooge is fake news and a lying, crooked loser. Sad!

Question: Why does the CBC even allow comments anymore? The replies on this column are eyeball cancer. They have to be real people too, because it says in the ToS that an identity verification is required to sign up for an account. Who the hell are these people???

https://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/trudeau-year-end-2022-look-ahead-1.6296378

I found a rare diamond in the rough but 99.9% of the rest is vomit. Same with the video of his Christmas address. All this, "Castro," "Tofino," "Pt. Grey Academy," "dictator," "no respect for democracy," "Chinese money launderer," "the wrong Trudeau died on the glacier," "mentally unfit like his mother" crap gets massively upvoted, but this comment got downvoted to the core of the earth. Wow.

Justin Trudeau seems like the rare person who, in spite of their wealth, still cares about ordinary people. I hope I'm not wrong.

Alot of people dismiss Justin, and there are negatives against him, but in some ways he's better than his father. Intellectually he's not the same---but who is these days??

Who is as sharp as Pierre Trudeau? Not too many people today value intellectualism, and his father was a cold intellectual. But Margaret has given Justin something Pierre never had--a soft side. Sunny ways, one might say.

I take the over-the-top criticism of Trudeau to be nothing more than an expression of fear from the Conservative opposition. Fear that Justin may be PM for many, many years to come. Just like his dad.

And if he isn't, the Liberals will regret it for many, many years to come. But seriously, when did CBC turn into r/MetaCanada??? They shut their Facebook comments off but why not the ones on the main site?

Lmao...it says right in the tweet for family and friends, you dumb Liberal shit.

Hi rumleyfips.... Thank you and Happy Holidays to you too!!! I probably should have called this post The Nightmare Before Christmas because don't be fooled by O'Toole's fake holiday face, he must be in real pain. He must know that unless he can conjure up a miracle his day is almost done. So 2022 should get off to a great start...

Hi anon@12:54...I was also surprised to see that prissy SoCon promoting booze at a redneck hootenanny. But then the hootenanny was organized by the gun lobby, so what do you expect. If Thomas ever forms part of a Con government we'll all be in trouble...

Simon said...

Hi JD....I wouldn't touch that O'Toole with a ten foot canoe paddle. Although I would like to see how some of the religious fanatics who despise O'Toole react when they get their soup. That would be hilarious, and there It's been a hard year, but it encourages me to see O'Toole forced to pretend to be a nice guy, because all those vile attack ads were hurting him more than Trudeau. What a loser. He'll have to back to the Trudeau Hate Machine sooner rather than later, because the rabid base doesn't cough up, unless they can be made to believe that all those porno attack ads are making Trudeau squeal (in their diseased minds.) Despite all those vile attack ads most decent Canadians were not moved, and that speaks to the strength of our country. Good enough, let's celebrate. Merry Christmas/Happy Holidays to you and yours JD!

Hi Jackie...I hate to admit it, but I'm finding Shiny Big Boy's latest scam quite entertaining. And I would LOVE to know who is directing this Con ad campaign. One day there will be a movie The Education of Erin O'Toole and critics will pan it, claiming it looked too fake to be true. As for the comments, I sometimes monitor them to try to determine how much longer we have to wait before the Cons self combust. But most of the time I ignore them, they are just too ugly, really diseased stuff. I'd really like to study those crazed Cons to try to determine where they get their kooky ideas from, but life is too short, and I'm too lazy. All I know is that the Cons are fighting themselves, and that the knives are coming out. What more could we ask for?

P.S. Somebody warn the Red Cross , and the police...

Hi Steve....Justin Trudeau is becoming quite a politician, and when he is "turning the other cheek" it should be seen as a boxing move. And the polls say it's working...

Hi Anon@7:20PM...No Con, I'm afraid you're the dumb shit. Or are suffering from dementia. The Soup Lady's tweet clearly said that while she usually makes her soup for family and friends, Shiny Big Boy had asked her to make soup for the 192 members of the caucus, some of whom hate his guts. Doubt she could do both without setting up a soup factory in the basement of Stornoway. Look I know you Cons are desperate, but you are looking ridiculous, and sounding increasingly deranged...

Because a lot, a lot, A LOT of Canadians hate Justin Trudeau.

And rightly so.

Simon said...

Hi anon@12:09 AM...Luckily the number of Canadians who hate Trudeau are outnumbered by those who like him, because if we had an election tomorrow he would win another MAJORITY. Now, as to your psychological condition. How long has Justin Trudeau lived rent free in your head. How long have you believed that toxic Trudeau hate is a good thing? Have you noticed that most kooky toxic Trudeau haters are bitter old geezers swimming in their own excrement and choking on their own bile? Why is this? If you are suffering from any of those mental afflictions, please seek help immediately. Merry Christmas....

Simon -- it's been my concern for some time that there is a vocal contingent of Canadians, like those two Anons and the trolls on that CBC comment page and social media, who viscerally hate the PM in large part because they are led to do so by the jealous media. It's pretty obvious their attitude toward him is not one of being "fair and balanced," any more than Fox is towards Joe "Brandon" Biden or especially Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama. If Canadians hate him it's because he's being framed in a negative light. And it's inciting some of those trolls to threaten and attempt violent attacks, which the media is perversely content to ignore, to disclaim their role.

One textbook proof of this pettiness from the media is their adamant refusal to call him Prime Minister, implying that his position is illegitimate. Some sore losers are back to getting the PropRep ball rolling again, to discredit his past two victories as being wins on a technicality. Another example: David Akin sent a birthday tweet to the "MP for Papineau, QC". Fox did the same thing with "Obama, Obama, Obama." Never President Obama. But always "President" Trump. Con media in Canada does the same thing with "Prime Minister" Harper, "Premier" Ford/Kenney/Legault etc. They can't bring themselves to use his title because they can't bring themselves to admit he won.

But what I was encouraged to find was that there is an equally if not more substantial contingent of Canadians, and folks elsewhere in the world, who do admire and respect him and the job he is doing, and are even worried for his health and well-being. The Star actually has a nice piece out about the gifts that he's been sent during the pandemic. I also did my own write-up about what I'd give him if given the chance, and why I chose those items on the list. The hypothetical care package I thought up has a theme of standing up to bullying. Which he does on a daily basis.

The whack-a-trolls and media manipulators, meanwhile, deserve a lump of something in their stocking. Not coal, though. Not even an Alberta tarball, let alone a stale Bieber Timbit.

Happy Holidays to you and yours Simon, and everyone on this board. Thanks for keeping up the good fight for peace, order, and good governance, and best wishes for 2022 from the dysfunctional USA.

Hi Jackie...The hate Trudeau movement is a product of American-style politics. They are a fetid old man cult, and are motivated by virulent misogyny and homophobia. I am astonished at how sexual are some of the anti-Trudeau comments I receive. I can't help but get the feeling that those old perverts are typing and wanking at the same time. I just hope those old Cons are kept far away from children. It's an appalling situation but the good news is that many of them are dropping like flies. Today for example I'm celebrating the death of Ted Byfield, a grotesque religious fanatic and dirty homophobe. And I'm hoping that many of the Con anti-vaxxers will also be a moulding in their graves before the next election. Which is reason to celebrate. I wasn't able to write my usual Christmas post due to my kitchen duties. But we are going to have fun in the New Year. Happy holidays to you and yours Jackie...

PS. I read your list of things to give Justin Trudeau, and I vote for the Snoopy Red Baron one. Red Baron Trudeau can take on the fake "Top Gun" O'Toole and send him down in flames... ;)

Ted Byfield wrote during SNC that Trudeau was operating a "harem". This is your occasional reminder that Rachel Curran, in a now-deleted tweet, insinuated that he was sleeping with half the cabinet. The blatant sexual content of "Trudeau derangement" is on full display.

Also, the tool's "nice guy image" now apparently includes using his kids as props in cringeworthy ads, copyright infringement, and letting his son shoot his own father. The CCFR no doubt approves this message. He'll grow up to be a mess like Macaulay Culkin, or worse, Ben Harper. At least Li'l Mac turned out to be a decent person. Erin, your comms team... woof!

https://twitter.com/erinotoole/status/1474470331662606337

If Trudeau did any of this, there would be howls of outrage. I mean look at what they did when 3-year-old Didi went trick or treating as the poodle from Paw Patrol. Or how they laughed at Xavier crying when some stalker threw an object at his dad during the Greta parade. But this is... "cute"?

As Rob Schneider said in the sequel: "Nice family." Surprised he's not at the hotel fraternizing with Donald Trump.

Simon said...

Hi James...Thank you and I hope you had a very Merry Christmas. And you're right about Justin Trudeau, he is a good guy with a good heart, and unlike the the alien Cons a real Canadian...

Hi Jackie....I saw that video, and I'm going to include it in my next post because I want to be able to remember it for a long time. At a time when Omicron is still spreading like wildfire, O'Toole and his family are carrying on like that? It's unbelievable especially since that loser has yet to issue ONE call for his smelly supporters to go and get vaccinated. But of course he's scared shitless of those supporters and that video is designed to serve a double purpose. It's flaunting the advice of doctors to stay at home, and it's a sop to the gun lobby. You can't be more cowardly than that...

Off topic, but I'm getting sick of this Trudeau retirement shit, and I've registered my discontent to the best of my ability (1) (2). I thought Don Martin was retired, and yet he keeps popping his fat head up to make mouth noises. His latest is about why Trudeau is absolutely bluffing about running again and why if he isn't, he should, for his own good. He contradicts himself over every paragraph. Why the hell is CTV still publishing this guy?

Now Max Fawcett is jumping on board the bandwagon again, probably to puff his "feminist cred". And what better way to do that than by reworking the Chrétien/Martin drama into a bona fide cat fight, right? They really want a self-fulfilling prophecy, don't they!

He didn't "fail" to win a majority. This tired meme needs to die. Quebec is going to be a stubborn puzzle to figure out for the foreseeable future. If O'Toole or Scheer had a minority government, they wouldn't be denounced as failures and told to hurry up and quit, now would they? Any of these dudesplainers want to offer their expertise as to why any of the candidates they're presently stanning would obliterate the silver-tongued ethnonationalist Blanchet in a way that Trudeau supposedly can't? Why does Anglo Canada ignore the Bloc except when convenient? How exactly was Trudeau supposed to predict the last-minute sabotage of Shachi Kurl?

Part of me would laugh to see Fawcett have egg on his face as the Bloc sweeps the province. The bigger part of me would just be infuriated, because that's exactly what Don Martin et. al. are itching for, and why they want an LPC wrestling match to tear the party apart like what happened not so long ago. Fawcett is just too much of a drip not to be aware of it. Trudeau is plenty aware of what they're up to, and that's why he's committed to not going anywhere. I'm going to laugh even harder when he wins again, and Martin and Fawcett have nothing to write about besides socks and Alberta oil.

Hi Simon,

I too saw the video and it's no surprise that the Cons are at 26% total support and falling. They are the party of fringe, of violence, of bible-thumpers and that section of the electorate is vanishing fast. O'Toole and Bernier can split the vote forever, as far as I care.

Of course, that does not leave the Liberals off the hook. They will have to produce on Climate Change, equity and Reconciliation. And I expect the NDP and (heh) the Bloc to hold LPC feet to the fire. Thankfully for Justin, it's a cozy holiday fire instead of the Gehenna facing the Tool...

Hi Jackie….I wouldn’t worry about what Don “Stumpy” Martin has to say about anything. He’s a mediocre Con hack who instead of urging Trudeau to resign should resign himself. And the same goes for Fawcett. He’s a much better journalist than Martin, but I don’t bother reading the National Observer anymore, and 2022 will be the year we cull the Con media until they learn to reflect the will of the Canadian people….

Simon said...

Hi Pierre….Yes, I agree, the Cons are in a dive that Can only end badly. I have no idea what they are trying to do with those absurd videos, but I guess it’s an attempt to deflect attention from the fact that O’Toole is caught between a rock and a hard place of the vaccination question. But nothing can change the fact that they are a divided party about to become even more divided, and I’m going to enjoy every minute….
