The big snow storm came rushing up from the south, it hit Toronto hard, and for a while it made getting around much of the city difficult and dangerous.
To make it easier for those who couldn't stay at home, the police sent out this message:

When I saw the anti-vaxxers marching down the waterfront last summer, with their kooky Con signs and their crosses, at first I didn't take them seriously.
All I wanted to do was laugh at them, and maybe even douse them with a bucket of cold water.
But when I saw how aggressive they were becoming, I started to despise them.
And when I saw them threatening and trying to intimidate exhausted healthcare workers I got really angry.
Uh oh, this is horrible. Believe it or not I'm starting to feel sorry for Erin O'Toole. How much punishment can the man take?
But then it's not hard to feel sorry for a man who has got himself into a terrible place, and now can't get out.
And to make matters worse, even some hard core Cons have looked at his deranged video, the one I wrote about in my last post.
And some of their reviews are BRUTAL.
In my last post, I included the latest video from Erin O'Toole, which was a deranged attack on Steven Guilbeault, the Minister of Environment and Climate Change.
I ran it to show why I thought O'Toole is losing his marbles, and is just about ready for the rubber room.
But I didn't have time to expose the Big Lie in that video, so I thought I would run it again.
And now I'm even more convinced that he's ready for the rubber room.
For having to channel Mad Max Bernier to try to get back some of his anti-vaxx supporters must be painful enough.
A real exercise in humiliation.
In the age of Omicron this is a recurring nightmare, that is becoming more real by the day.
A code red warning that there are no ambulances available to transport sick people to hospital.
My other nightmare is that because cases are exploding, there is no room in the hospitals to receive them.
And then there is this nightmare.
The way Erin O'Toole has been behaving recently, one might be forgiven for wondering whether he is losing his marbles.
He has been blaming Justin Trudeau for causing the pandemic, suggesting that he's some kind of fascist for urging Canadians to get vaccinated. And it's crazy stuff.
But don't worry, hold the straitjacket, for now.
For it seems that what's making O'Toole sound so crazy, is that he's channeling Mad Max Bernier.
For weeks Erin O'Toole has been hiding from Canadians, like a loser chicken in a closet.
Too afraid to show his face lest he might be asked why he has not urged Canadians to get vaccinated, which is the best thing that can be done to keep our hospitals from collapsing.
Too afraid to admit that if he did the right thing, the many anti-vaxxers in his caucus would eat him alive.
But now he's back trying to smear Justin Trudeau. Again.
It's now a horror show teetering on the edge of a medical catastrophe. As the Omicron variant continues to surge and exhausted health workers are already fighting a desperate battle to keep hospitals from collapsing.
Patients are being transferred from one hospital to another, staff are being moved around to shore up wards hard hit by nurses and doctors self isolating, or calling in sick.
But don't tell Erin O'Toole, because he's missing in action and trying to pretend it's the pandemic that's gone missing.
It's hard to believe that it's now been almost two years since Covid first appeared, and changed our lives forever.
And even harder to believe that even after all we've been through, it's still spreading like wildfire.
So much so that we're probably all going to get it sooner or later.
But on this last day of the cursed year 2021, it seems there is some good news at last.
