Is Doug Ford Even Worse Than Mike Harris?

I didn't live in Toronto when Mike Harris and his Cons ruled Ontario from 1995 to 2002.

But I heard about the damage him and his "Common Sense Revolution" did to the province, and how it took a decade to recover.

And how many poor and vulnerable people never did, because they were buried in the rubble of his brutish regime.

So I never thought I'd hear somebody who lived through those grim Con years say this.

Stephen Harper and the Deep Not So Blue Ontario Sea

It was so beautiful and warm yesterday I wish I could have spent the whole day sunning myself on the beach, or swimming in Lake Ontario.

Because when I saw the lifeguard boys racing for home at the end of their shifts, I was reminded that summer will soon be following them.

Which was a really depressing thought eh?

Until I thought that maybe they were just racing to save Stephen Harper.

Because when it comes to the province of Ontario, he's definitely going under.

Kathleen Wynne, the Cons, and the Moody's Mob

I'm pretty sure not many people in Ontario, let alone the rest of Canada, took time off from their busy lives, or Summer, to watch Kathleen Wynne's Throne Speech today.

And neither did I eh?

Because summer is too precious, life is too short, and since I'm flying to Britain soon, I've got other things to worry about.

But it was an interesting declaration of faith in the power of putting people first.

Premier Kathleen Wynne has rolled out a progressive, energetic agenda in her first majority Speech from the Throne. Vowing to lead from the “activist centre,” her Liberals appear determined to honour their campaign pledges to put people first, and then some.

And what happens next could play a major role in the next federal section.

The Con Assault on the Dutch Disease

Nothing Tom Mulcair has ever said scares Stephen Harper more than his claim that the Dutch Disease is killing jobs all over Canada.

Especially in vote-rich Ontario where the next election will be decided.

Because if the people in that province ever realize how much Harper's Alberta First economic policies are hurting them and the future of their kids, the Cons will be out of power sooner than you can say howdy cowboy.

So the Cons and the right-wing conspiracy are always trying to claim that the Dutch Disease is just a myth, and here they go again.
