Earlier today I wrote about how Andrew Scheer and his Cons had shown their contempt for the rights of women.
By failing to support a motion affirming a woman's right to control her own body.
With reproductive rights under assault south of the border, members of the Canadian House of Commons rose in a standing ovation to affirm support for a woman’s right to choose — that is, except the Conservatives.
So I was horrified to see that Mike Pence, one of those most responsible for the U.S. War on Women, was visiting Canada.
It's hard to believe that it has been four years already, since the Canadian actress and producer Ellen Page came out at a gay right's conference in Las Vegas. And delivered a powerful anti-bullying message.
Because for people like me who had to fight bullies before I fought Cons, it was such a great moment it seems like yesterday.
So I'm glad to see that Page hasn't lost her fighting spirit, when she appeared on the Late Show last night.
And took aim at these two anti-gay bigots.
I'm afraid it's just too nice today to think of blogging instead of sailing. Or whatever.
But now that Hurricane Irma has finally come ashore in Florida, before CNN blew up from all that huffing and puffing.
And now that I can at least hope that Hurricane Mueller might take down Donald Trump AND Mike Pence .
Before I set off for the great blue yonder, I'd like to introduce you to my presently favourite candidate for president of the United States.
He can often be seen looking on at Donald Trump's grotesque travelling circus with a strange smile on his face.
When asked to say something about his boss, Mike Pence sounds as loyal as a butler, or as giddy as a college cheerleader.
But appearances can be deceiving.
For it seems that should something horrible happen to Trump, like a heart attack, or a stroke, or a fatal case of impeachitis.
Or should General Kelly fail to control him...
It will be left to future historians to try to explain how a grotesque sexual predator with no discernible morals like Donald Trump, could be embraced by the religious right.
But they are his most loyal supporters.
He has already thrown them a bloody bone by ordering that the U.S. not support safe abortions for women in poor countries.
But today he will present them with the biggest bone of all.
I must say I really enjoyed what happened to Mike Pence, the sinister man from GLAD or MAGA, when went to the theatre the other night to take in a performance of the Broadway musical Hamilton.
And got a stirring message from the cast, urging him to restrain his bigot instincts and respect the human rights of all Americans. As well as a rousing chorus of boos.
And I can only hope that somebody asked him that old and tragic question:
"Apart from that Mrs Lincoln Mr Pence how did you like the show?"
Well he may look like the man from Glad. But Mike Pence, Donald Trump's choice for vice president, is actually the man from God.
He defines himself as “a Christian, a conservative, and a Republican, in that order.”
And he's really bad news for women and gay people.
