The Grotesque Hypocrisy of Pierre Poilievre

Pierre Poilievre has always been a grotesque Con man, who lies like a thief, and thinks he can get away with anything.

He claims he stands for FREEDOM or FREEDUMB.

Even though during the dark days of the Harper regime he tried to suppress the votes of millions of Canadians, and turn our country into a prison state.

His claim that he can give Canadians back control of their lives is equally absurd, and verges on the fraudulent.

But this is his biggest scam, and the most hypocritical.

The idea that by firing mythological "gatekeepers" he can solve Canada's housing crisis.

When in fact he is part of the problem.

Even as he decries government policies for pushing up the cost of housing, Conservative leadership candidate Pierre Poilievre is defending investments he and his wife made in rental properties of the kind that some economists say contribute to rising real estate prices.

And so is his wife.

While the Ottawa-area MP and his family live in a $550,000 lakeside home in Greely, Ont., south of Ottawa, his wife, Anaida Poilievre, owns a rental property in a semi-detached home in the Ottawa suburb of Orleans.

Which also raises some awkward questions about the Poilievre's cozy relationship with the notorious Con bigot Michael Cooper.

Questions that apparently annoyed his darling Anaida.

After the press conference, Anaida Poilievre approached a CTV News journalist to say she was proud of her investment and that, next time, the reporter should ask her to her face.

Which left her darling hubby squirming like an eel.

And Anaida riding him like a getaway mule... Which is an appalling way for a couple that dreams of moving into 24 Sussex to behave, but may explain why when the Bank of Canada suggested that many bitcoin investors are financially illiterate.

Canadian bitcoin owners tend to have low levels of financial literacy while being exposed to elevated levels of financial risk, according to new Bank of Canada research.

Based on a series of surveys, central bank researchers found that around 5 per cent of Canadians owned bitcoin between 2018 and 2020. That ownership was “concentrated among young, educated men with high household income and low financial literacy,” the researchers said in a paper summing up the survey results released this week.

Around half of the current or past bitcoin owners who responded to the surveys reported being affected by negative events, such as a price crash, scam or data breach.

Poilievre, who has been promoting bitcoin as a magical cure for EVERYTHING, reacted so aggressively.

Only to look even more like a Con artist, or a dangerous idiot.

You know, in my last post I promised that we would scorch Poilievre's tail feathers off with one scandal after the other.

Well watch those feathers fly...

Or watch Poilievre run.

Because we're just beginning...

Hi anon@5:00 AM....What are you talking about Conchella? I am absolutely delighted by the way Justin Trudeau is leading Canada's war on Russia, unlike you traitors who would do nothing so as not to displease the trucker terrorists many of whom are supporting Russia. I believe that the plan to buy those F-35s is a master stroke. We waited until many of the bugs that plagued that plane were worked out, and got a better fighter at a cheaper price. The purchase will help our NATO commitments, which when you put it all together is nothing but genius. And as for the long-range artillery, I only wish we had more to give the heroic Ukrainians, but we can get more to them later, and the ones we are sending will take a good bite out of what's left of Putin's Orc army....

NOTE: In case you are wondering what Con comment I was responding to in the comment above... It went roughly like this: "What about those F-35s and those artillery pieces. If Harper was still around I'm sure you would be against them" The Conchella's comment was asinine, but at least it wasn't as vile as most comments are. But unfortunately when I deleted another Con comment that was vile I deleted the Conchella's comment too by mistake. In my defence I had to get up really early to watch the Arsenal-Manchester United game. And my team won !!! So I forgive myself...

The F 35 will go down in history as the biggest military boondoggle of all time. (Bit coin will be the biggest overall)
It is true Simon that unlike the unfortunate Aussies we will get a plane that can take off and land, and that's about all.
We would be far better off for Patrol with Otters. For dogfighting the Griffin. For bombing people with no air defense we can use anything.

I hesitate to use the WSJ as a source, so perhaps it really is the best plane ever.

Hi Steve....The development history of the F-35 certainly has reason to be called a boondoggle. And if leaders like Harper had sounded the alarm ten years ago things might have turned out better. The main problem was that they tried to develop too many versions of the place, for the air force, the navy, etc etc. But today it's a much better place, it is ideally suited for backing up troops in an environment like Ukraine, since it has the best sensor equipment of any fighter anywhere. And since NATO countries are buying more and more of them we need to be able to work with them. Also as I mentioned above, it's per unit price is finally reasonable, relatively speaking. As we prepare with a long war with Russia, the planes couldn't come along at a better time. That said, I believe that future fighters will be autonomous drones that can maneuver more easily than planes piloted by humans, so we should be pushing to develop and build them. The future is war, and we must be ready...

Oh dear....I had to delete another comment from a Con, and this time it was deliberate. The Conchella claimed I was full of shit and took my orders from the PMO. So imagine he must be wailing like a banshee as he realizes his comment will never be published. The Cons are so disappointed these days, there leadership race is more of a freak show than anything, and it's starting to sink in that if he wanted Justin Trudeau could be Prime Minister for another SEVEN years. By which time many of them will hopefully be dead. So as I start my summer sailing adventures, I couldn't be happier....

I love your last image, Simon. Is PP running for PM, conservative leader, or from a charity boxing match with JT? The look on his face would suggest the match. Whatever it is, I foresee endless possibilities for you with that pic in your arsenal. Speaking of which, I've been seeing a lot of your Harper with PP in the papoose pic on twitter as people use it to lampoon the pigeon. They obviously love your graphics as well and though I can't speak for you, I would wear it as a badge of honor.

As for that horsey-back video, it's about as cringe as it gets. What exactly is he trying to project here? A fun loving, average family man playing horsey-back with the wife just like most everyone doesn't do? I mean good gawd, if Cinderella's tootsies were that tired, they could have driven right up to the door to pick her up and save us from that illusion of spontaneity. And PP sure seemed to be struggling carrying the little Mrs. so he needs to do a little more running rather than running off at the mouth. Now I worry PP's rickety, old stock supporters will see that, try it and there'll soon be a spike in ER visits for hip and back injuries. Seriously, anyone dumb enough to go to a PP rally would probably jump off of a bridge if he told them to.

A big thank you to the BOC for putting the illiterate PP in his place. Especially the way they worded it. "Canadian bitcoin owners tend to have low levels of financial literacy". See that PP? You're tending! And that's just the financial part of his illiteracy on most anything. I foresee many of our institutions that protect us having to clap back at the squawking pigeon as he tries to sully them for partisan gain with his conspiratorial crap. He may win Stornoway, but winning a general election is a very distant world away.

@ Simon

"The future is war, and we must be ready..." Is this just a throw away comment or a change in thinking?
We have watched the winding populist path to hell unfold over the past 10 years with no clear destination in sight other than division and some sort of old geezer vision of returning to the past. Poillievre as well as Putin's army with an unprofessional "Z" meme painted on everything seems to be signalling an evolution to include a generation of more youthful digital game players entirely divorced from the real world consequences of their actions. They are inherently far more dangerous than the geezer crowd and their Luddite disciples that serve as a distraction. PP is certainly not the new messiah but possibly a preview of things to come. Ironically the autonomous drones you mention push us even further into the realm of digital war games entirely divorced from the consequences.

Hi JD….I hope he is running from a boxing match with Justin Trudeau, although I would be very disappointed if he is still walking by the time the election arrives. For he is the lowest fascist I have ever seen in this country, and a threat to everything we hold dear. It sickens me to see how our lowlife media keeps pumping him up like a big blue balloon. Aaron Wherry and Chantal Hebert being the latest to polish his tool, by comparing him to Justin Trudeau. And this on the day when French voters are deciding between Macron and Le Pen. They either can’t see the fascist threat or they don’t think it could happen here. As for that absurd video of him carrying his wife on his back, it was made to look spontaneous, but if you check the location of the cameras it was clearly staged, to try to deflect attention from the hypocrisy of that landlord couple. I’m glad that the Bank of Canada nailed the Con artist Poilievre for promoting “financial illiteracy” but from what I saw at his very mini Nuremberg rally, that message needs to be repeated over and over again, for far too many Con dolts are being fooled into believing that the grifter Poilievre will make them rich. I’ve been spending all my time warning about Poilievre when I’d rather write about other things. But his ugly supporters have been bombarding me with death threats so I must be doing something right…😎

Hi RT….Don’t sorry I haven’t turned into a raging warmonger. I was just wound up by Steve suggesting that all we need is Otters to hold off his friends the Russians. Having said that we do need fighter planes to defend our borders, because we can’t rely on the Americans to do that any longer. And yes, I also agree that any kind of autonomous drones are dangerous, but unfortunately that’s where we’re going, and once again we need to be ready for whatever…

All because that’s the latest out of Justin’s mouth. You sure won’t feel that way if a Tory was in charge now would you?

Hi anon@2:50 PM...Unlike you Cons who scoop up and run with whatever falls out of your Leader's asses, I'm a progressive and can think for myself. I bet you're running around shouting "Freedumb" "Freedumb" these days and dreaming that your political thugs will be back in power some day. Well forget it it, they won't be. Most Canadians have seen what they can do to a society, especially to the most vulnerable, so they've had enough of them...
